Yolanda & Stephanie are awesome hairstylists! Press & curl, color, weaves, they got you covered. I’ve been going to Emphatic for over ten years and my hair is always fabulous and healthy. Reasonably priced. Plenty of parking. Open in the evening for late appointments. They also except walk-​ins, but making an appointment in advance is best. Great with kids for school pictures, proms, etc… What more can you ask for?

Yesterday I went to Emphatic Beauty salon and much to my amazement I almost they were goin to charge over $ 200 but what I got done including hair wash and blow dry it was under $ 200 and I’m very satisfied with the style it’s very different and I look like a different person so I’m happy with it. I want to thank Stephanie for doin my hair she was very patient and her hands were very soothing and I also want to thank Yolanda as well as Stephanie for their customer service, patience, and the good job they have done. I would recommend anyone that wants their hair done that’s within their budget to go here.

I used to go here before moving to Pasadena. Yolanda is da bomb! She really takes care of your hair and she’s really nice.

Hands Down, this is the best experience I’ve had in a long time! Yolanda is the BEST IN THE WEST! This lady is a magician when it comes to hair. Upon my initial contact with Yolanda, she was very nice, yet professional. When I arrived at her shop, not only was she very welcoming, but she got me in the chair and didn’t have me waiting. This woman is on her game to the fullest. I felt comfortable with her and felt like I had known her all my life.
I went in looking ok, and came out fierce! Thank you Yolanda for getting my hair back on track. I feel like a completely NEW woman! No one else can touch my hair from now on!!! God bless you Yolanda!!!

Yolanda took my hair that had not been pressed in two years and had it laiiddd! She is amazing and extremely helpful also very relatable. I called for a same day/​walk-​in appointment and she welcomed me right in. Next appointment is already scheduled!

So I’m about a year over due writing a review lol. Yolanda, who I believe is the owner, did my hair. She was very nice from the time we talked on the phone, til I walked out the shop! I asked for a press and cut, and Honey my hair was LAID when she was done! I’ve NEVER felt my hair so smooth and silky from a press before, but Yolanda obviously knows what she’s doing! Not a strand was out of place when she was done. Overall, you can say that I will be visiting again, very soon.

Stephanie was great! Both of the ladies in the shop are pleasant and cool and sociable. Stephanie talked with my daughter to learn more about her and her hair. She even demonstrated how to wrap and care for her hair using step by step instruction. It helped us both because I’m not very good at hair care. We will both be visiting Emphatic Hair Design on a regular basis.

I took my 3 year old who is black & Mexican to this hair salon, & Yolanda took care of him! She knows her stuff & she definitely ‘schooled’ me on how to maintain his hair! I will be going back to her for sure! Yolanda was wonderful!

OMGSH! Just know these ladies in here can really do hair! And i’m like a hairstylist critic. Ok! I must say don’t be fooled by the size of the shop because it’s fairly small but the talent here is huge! They can press and perm all textures (trust me I’ve seen with my own two eyes) and have it hanging and blowing in the wind in no time. I must say this too: Their presses are unbelievable, they look like perm jobs but they aren’t! Best press I EVER HAD! Their weave jobs are amazing because they look real! WHENEVER I go to L.A. I go here first (gotta be fab in this high maintenace city lol). I usually go to Stephanie, but if she isn’t available Yolanda’s work is just as amazing. It’s like they work magic here. Seriously, all my friends I’ve referred have gone back. And the other good thing is they are REASONABLE!

And everytime I come in here they are so sweet and HILARIOUS! They should have their own comedy show lol. Last but not least Stephanie and Yolanda actually CARE about healthy hair. They can tell you if you hair is fragile, why it’s fragile, and what you can do to save it… sometimes i think my hairstylists are too good to be true!

P. S. excuse the heavy usage of exclamation marks, it’s just a very exciting thing for an African American woman to find an excellent hairstylist these days :-)
