I loved it. I had a great and calm experience. I felt I could die happy after having the spicy meat stew.

Don’t waste your time or money. Horrible service. Waited to get seated for 20 min just to have a server tell me that there was a seat in the back room all along. Another time I had to wait 40 min to get one dish bc obviously the lady forgot to put in my order. No explanation or apologies. No thanks.

Great Korean food! My only complaint is that non of them speak english, you should know what to order. Don’t bother asking or making a special request on your food… other than that everything is «A» ok!

Every time I come here I always order way too much food and leave with a massive food baby. Don’t make the same mistake as me :( The portions here are HUGE! I came today with 2 other people, and we ordered kalgooksoo, gamja tang, soondae, mool mandu, and 3 odeng sides. This was wayyyy too much for us! I feel like each thing we ordered was big enough to share with 2 – 3 people. Luckily this place is very inexpensive and our check only came out to about $ 49 for everything. The food here is much better fresh than it would be if you take leftovers home so try not to order too much — it’s hard though, since everything is so delicious!

Any visit to SoCal isn’t complete without a Korean meal. I was searching for a Korean spot when I came across Old Noodle House. We arrived a little before 8pm on a Friday and got one of the last tables. The clientele was mostly Korean(a good side for aunt genetic Korean food!). We ordered the meat dumplings & Gamjatang(pork neck bone & potato soup). In terms of banchan, they serve you with pickled radish and kimchee. Be careful with the kimchee as it’s particularly spicy compared to other Korean restaurants. The meat dumplings were pretty but the highlight of the night was the Gamjatang! It’s a hearty & spicy kimchee based soup with ~ 6 – 7 pork neck bones and a large slice of potato. The meat is fall off the bone tender! The Gamjatang is a bit spicy(they can’t modify the spiciness level) but with a side of white rice and iced barley tea, it’s comfort food I’d crave on a cold day or after a long night of drinking. The portion size is big enough for 2 – 3 people. There’s a small parking lot in the back and the bathroom is located outside of the restaurant.

The portions are absolutely ridiculous. I know there known for their noodles but I stopped in for the pork bone soup. It was really good. They give so much meat that you are stuffed after getting through it all. I was happy I stopped in.

I recommend the Kal Gooksu(House Noodles). The broth is delicious, the noodles are soft & handmade, the portion is humongous, and they put two pieces of pork dumplings in there all for $ 8.99!

Bad service!!! The food is pretty good, but we really feel annoyed with the waitress’s attitude. She are so unkind and mean.

Waitresses can use an attitude adjustment, but the food portion and quality is incredible. Would definitely go back. :)

I knew this place servers are very unkind but I used to go this place because like their foods, but last Friday I decided to make to go order so when I called them & asked how long it takes, lady who answered told me «just come!» So I drove 20 min far to pick up my order then lady who answered my phone told me «where is your pot!» ?? So since I never got informed about pot, I asked lady back that what is she talking about pot, then lady smiled and told me they don’t give to go order unless customer brings their own pot for to go order? So I kind of upset to come all the way there & asked lady why she didn’t mention that when I called her for to go order(so that way I didn’t need to waste my time) then lady told me «because all of our customers bring pot» ??? That was last day of me visiting this place and if you like Korean food and love to make to go order I strongly DONOTRECOMMEND this place, there is much better place to go

Love me my old time noddle house and then some! I think this place has the best soondae I’ve ever had, probably better than western soondae! And their fish cake is super delicious as well! Ironically I rarely get their noodle dishes but what I have gotten so far has been delicious and it’s cheap compared to other Korean noodle places in the area. Service isn’t great and there can be a line but it’s quick and never too long of a wait. This isn’t a trendy date spot and they only have 2 different banchan but if you want some good old school Korean food for around $ 10/dish this is the place!

This place was the shiiiiiizzniiiiiiiit!!! At first I was skeptical because the only ban-chan that came to the table was kimchee and pickled radish. BUT, when my mandu/dduk-guk came to the table… oh man…*insert heavens opening up music here*. The broth was light, clean, and super flavorful. The rice cakes were cooked perfectly, still chewy, and plentiful. The mandu was ok, tasted like the meat was pretty fatty, but flavor wasn’t bad. Koreans traditionally eat this on the first day of the year to symbolize long life(or so my Mom said haha). Menu was pretty simple and straightforward. Will definitely be coming back to try the noodle soup!

Had the bibim naeng myeon today. The portion amounted to 2 meals for me for the price of about $ 8.99. Unlike the typical bibim naeng myeon, this one had a flare to it. Extra spicy at the end since I didn’t stir the noodles with the broth well enough in the beginning. The noodles were also green hinting a sign of yomogi. It lacks toppings compared to other places(e.g. Cut boiled egg, etc) but there was something about the simplicity of just scallions, sangchu, and cucumber that made me give this classic dish 4 stars.

Great sujebi(dough flake soup) and huge portions!!! Simple and unpretentious spot with tons of Koreans and very authentic. Been here twice. Second time I got the baby octopus sujebi and it was delish! It had seafood based broth with lots of clams and enough octopus. Kalgooksoo was OK, not my favorite IMHO, but my little girl really LOVED it and ate a lot of it. I didn’t think the kalgooksoo was hand made, since the noodles were really super uniform. Between me/hubby/3 yr old, two soups and a dumpling was more than plenty. Hubby was happy with his kalgooksoo so I guess it’s all good. The first time I came I ended up ordering seaweed sujebi. Since I had just given birth a few weeks ago, thought the seaweed soup fit my needs. It was full of clam goodness! Great broth. Will definitely be back. Especially on my birthday when I need my birthday soup!(omg I am too Korean sometimes…) Can’t wait till I come back here to try other stuff. So far, I am sold!

My pals Jenn N and Steve S both rated Old Time Noodle House 4 Stars, and I have never had Soo Jae Bi(Korean soup w/dough flakes), so I said I gotta check it out! OTNH is on Western just north of Redondo Beach Blvd in Gardena. I have constantly called Gardena a Japanese and Hawaiian foodie enclave, but I need to include Korean as well. In addition to soo jae bi, OTNH has mandoo(dumplings), Korean style ramen, as well as a number of soo jae bi options(the broth is traditionally infused w/anchovies, seaweed, green onion, potatoes, onion, garlic, fish sauce, soy sauce and sesame oil). As you can imagine, this is a very filling soup. I chose a probably unfamiliar version w/agi mun-eo(baby octopus — $ 9.99). A nice surprise was that this version contained jogae(clams) vs anchovies. The soup was very good. There was a large amount of agi mun-eo and jogae. The portion of soup itself was large, and I could only finish half. I added some of the spicy oil condiment to taste, and it added some nice heat. The only downside was that there wasn’t any seaweed in the broth: 4 Stars. Secondarily, the ban chan was mixed. The kimchee was excellent. It was deep red and the cabbage was nice and crunch. I can see why they sell kimchee on the side: 5 Stars. Lastly, the cabbage and radish were garden variety: 3 Stars. Both the service and ambiance were OK. I don’t need much attention, but the waitress only came to give me a place setting, set down the ban chan, and give me the bill. Regarding the ambiance, the place is small. However, there were plenty of Korean speakers in the place at lunch. Nonetheless, a big downside is a unisex bathroom outside: Both 3 Stars. I would come back to try some of the other dishes, like the dumplings and another soo jae bi. In addition, they had some fish things on skewers that caught my eye as I was leaving that I wouldn’t mind trying.

This place has delicious Korean noodles soup. They are well known for their dough flake soup. We ordered the Spicy dough flake soup with hand cut noodles are some goodness to my taste buds and warming up my tummy! You must use the Jalepeno Chili soy sauce sitting in a big brown bow clay pot at every table. This chili sauce is all it needs to give their food that extra kick making the food so tasty. One order of the dough flake soup is huge! Definitely a sharable portion between 2 – 3 people. Add $ 1.00 tempura skewers to your meal for that extra chew. The dumplings were decent and ok. Nothing special about it.

Damn this place has some good Korean stew’s! I can’t believe I never knew about this place until recently. The Spicy Dough Flake and Kimchi Dough Flake soups taste like something an OG Korean mom would make. The restaurant is small so probably only seating for less than 30 people but feels like the perfect size for a real hole in the wall Korean restaurant. The Spicy dough flake soup is the #1 seller on the menu and I could not agree more. The dough flake noodles are perfectly thick and chewy just the way they are supposed to be and bathe in the perfectly rich spicy broth. This is definitely something that will warm you up on a nice cold and rainy day. The kimchi that they provide as a ban chan is also super high quality and delicious without being too vinegary. The steamed dumplings are also really good. The dumplings look so picturesque that I almost thought they were the display ones that most restaurants usually leave outside in display glasses as examples. Parking is located directly behind the restaurant or on the street. I will definitely be back for my Korean Dough Flake fix.

In the mood for Korean stew/soup…COMEHERE! Ordered: *Spicy Dough Flake Soup *Kimchi Dough Flake Soup *Octopus Dough Flake Soup *Steamed Dumplings *Fish Cakes Out of the three dough flake soups, I would rank Spicy(#1), Kimchi(#2) and Octopus(#3). All three had generous amounts of dough flakes that were thick and chewy(just the way I like it!). Soups came in a big clay pot… Careful, it is HOT! *Tip: SHARE, one pot could serve 2 – 3. *Spicy– shredded beef, onions and bean sprouts. The broth was tasty and had a little kick. I wished they added more beef… *Kimchi– lots of kimchi, onions and bean sprouts. *Octopus– baby octopus, clams, onions, zucchini and carrots. Soup tasted kind of fishy… The steamed dumplings(10pcs) were pretty good. When they brought it to our table, I thought they were fake because it looked so perfect and reminded me of sample menu items outside Japanese restaurants! Dip and drown your dumplings with the sauce in the clay pot! That sauce is addicting. I dipped my dough flakes in it too! The fish cake was ok. The winner was the soup that came with it… OMG, oh so flavorful. It was absolutely delicious! I wanted seconds, thirds and fourths! :) Banchan(turnip & kimchi) were good, especially the kimchi… LOVED! I could eat that all day. Service: Good Parking: small lot in the back Restroom: located outside the restaurant I will be back! Thx Felicia D. for inviting us!

Eh. I’ve seen a lot of my friends go here so I decided to go to try it out myself and since I kind of live near by this restaurant after all. We ordered their infamous Homemade Noodles(Kalgooksoo) and the dough flake soup. First things first, their portion is so large that if you just order one of the menus I mentioned, I can guarantee you that 2 people can get full. Homemade Noodles_I dont know but this thing called ‘homemade noodles’ is not really homemade noodles. I mean look at their noodles. It’s not made at the kitchen. Obviously they are using factory made noodles. It’s flat and they all look the same. Oh and it’s absolutely flavorless and the texture is horrible. For the soup, yuck! It’s too salty and I can taste MSG. I’m not saying that MSG is bad but I think they put a little too much that I can taste it right away. This one was a fail. I’ve had great kalgooksoo elsewhere, for sure. Dough Flake Soup_or better known as Soojebi in Korean. This came in a small claypot and my gosh, it was actually a lot food in there. A LOT! I was a bit happy at first because of its portion. But after I took a sip, i was like ‘what is this?’. The dough flake or soojebi was flavorless and rather too chewy to my taste. The soup, again, was pretty similar to the soup of Kalgooksoo. It just didn’t taste good at all. Oden Skewer_this was probably the best choice at this restaurant. This one was pretty good but I think the soup had too much pepper. I dont really enjoy eating soup but I have to taste it to see how the food tastes like right? This place was a big fail for me. My boyfriend and I went in we only managed to finish oden(1/person) and took one spoonful of Kalgooksoo and Soojebi and left the restaurant. The lady was asking why we are leaving without finishing our food because she just delivered the food to us about 2 – 3 minutes ago. I just couldn’t say why. So I just said we had to go somewhere for emergency. Service was average. Not bad or great. But food? Nuh-uh. I will not come back here ever again. There are so many other restaurants nearby. This place just wasn’t the one for my taste. I’m sorry but one of the worst foods I have tasted.
