Average chix/beef teriyaki. Slightly below L&L. I was excited to try because of the high Unilocal rating, but it fell flat. And the eating area was disappointing. Lost my appetite looking at the graffiti and dinginess. $ 22.00 for two beef/chix teriyaki plates.

Totally lived up to the expectation AND its dirt cheap. Had two double cheese burgers and a chicken teriyaki and rice bowl and another beef bowl to go.

If Gardena had a list of classic eateries, Pitburger would definetly be at the top of the list. It still has a classic feel with the 80s table top video games in the dining area. My favorite is the weenie plate which is Chili Rice with 2 grilled weenies, cabbage salad and toasted bun. I have also had the Teri beef plate, teri combo plate(beef & chicken) and teri burger. The Teri burger is actually Teri beef with teriyaki sauce and not a ground beef pattie with teriyaki sauce. They also have some plates that you can order double portions like the weenie plate and teri beef plate. I would also recommend adding cheese and onions to anything with chili, it’s makes it so good and worth the slight extra cost. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. The food taste good, good sized portions and reasonably priced.

I was somewhat surprised by this place. I went expecting a burger patty with sauce or topped with extra meat. I found their teriyaki burger a nice surprise however. The décor and graffiti here makes it a place you’d probably pick up and go but I would definitely go back.

I love everything from this place, all the food ive order its so good. The teriyaki plates are to die for the taste is amazing. They have an old school kinda room to dine in with like pac man machines as tables and others. I though that was pretty cool. My husband got a teriyaki burger and it tasted really good. I would deff check it out if your around the neighborhood looking for some tasty and yummy food.

The teriyaki combo plate is very different from any other teriyaki plates around(flavor wise) and that is a good thing. If you’re around the area try it out, you won’t be disappointed. I recommend calling in the order because this place is usually busy.

I always order the chicken teriyaki plate. Their meat isn’t dry, the portions are fair for their price(it also comes with bread and a small salad), and although they have a small staff they don’t leave you waiting too long for food. It’s not located in the nicest part of Gardena, but if you look past that, you’ll find your newest teriyaki spot.

Yummy stuff! We got the combo plate, a teriburger, cheeseburger and fries! The teriburger we could’ve skipped cuz the same meat was in our combo plate which was MASSIVE! I LOVED the teriyaki chicken, it was delish but the beef I didn’t care for. The teriyaki sauce is drinkable #gaf! Cheeseburger was just reg. Next time only teriyaki chicken bowls all around! Will definitely be back! Looks like a wreck on the dine in area tho! They really need to get that area together, its quite unappealing– just order your food to go! Ooh and cash only!

Came here yesterday for a late afternoon meal. Not the nicest area and the place didn’t look very appealing, but with all the good reviews and an «A» health grade I felt comfortable eating here. Ordered a chili cheese burger with fries. Pretty standard hamburger, the meat and chili tasted good, but nothing special. The fries are similar to McDonald’s fries which are fine in my book. I’m guessing this place has its high reviews due to its teriyaki meals so I’d recommend trying that instead of the burgers.

The food was delicious!!! It is truly a whole in the wall place– which a pretty dirty dining area so take your wipes and hand sanitizer. You have to pay with cash. They have an ATM inside but it looks like something you don’t want to touch– so bring cash with you! You can tell this place is still in business because of the food. It’s made with love.

Pretty good teriyaki. A little on the sweet side for my taste, but the beef was good. The regular size is a good portion so unless you’re sharing, a double won’t be necessary. The bun is a little peculiar and there’s not a shortage of thousand island for the cabbage salad. You may want to ask them to go easy on it.

Was disappointed to make the trip. Had high hopes as I’m a real BBQ lover & take pleasure in supporting small businesses whenever I can. If you replace the word«Pit» in the restaurant name with something that sounds similar and starts with the letter«s». then you are getting close to an accurate description of what the food makes you do. Within minutes of beginning to eat my combo plate, I could feel things really starting to shift around inside. Thankfully I got home in time. Unless you need a colon cleanse, I’d suggest eating elsewhere. Also, I’ll note that they have achieved the illustrious«Most Depressing Dining Area in Los Angeles”* award, complete with no ventilation, 4(sadly) broken table top video games, 7 or so gang sign defaced chairs, and a busted horoscope scroll vending machine. If there were someone dead in the corner, it would not have seemed out of place. * Not an actual award.

I Unilocaled ‘hot dogs’, not being from around here, and this was the nearest place to me. So much more and better than hot dogs! The smell alone was enough to make me drool. My friend and I split a chili dog and a Teri bowl. Incredibly delicious for an awesome price! And great service as well. Very friendly workers. Had to do a review because it was so good! People need to know! Haha Recommend to any food lover and/or penny pincher ;b Will definitely come back and travel to eat here. Awesome spot!:)

What a shame that a legendary place like this is on a down hill descend. I been going to pit burger since I was in high school back in the late 90s and everything has always been on point. The beef and teriyaki sauce now taste different; and the biggest disappointment was the toasted bun that I always look forward to was just plain gross. This business has been passed around so many times like a volley ball, that it was just a matter of time before the new owner substituted something that compromised the taste. R.I.P. Pit Burger you will be truly missed.

Consistency is key, I want to be able to come to a restaurant and expect the same thing every time(you don’t find that at every food joint) *same great food since the FIRST time my dad brought me here 15 years ago

I pulled off the 405 at Normandie, not sure of what I wanted, but sure that I was hungry. When I noticed Pitburger, I knew I had to try it. I didn’t even look it up on Unilocal(sorry!), I just pulled in to give it a try. Outstanding. Without any doubt, Pitburger has the best teriyaki burger on the planet. The teriyaki sauce is amazing, and they used sliced beef rather than ground beef(nice surprise). Plus, it’s a cool little joint – the kind of place you like spending your money(and not much of it).
