Peruvian Roasted Chicken. It’s delicious. Marinated very good. The only thing is that the chicken looks smaller and smaller every time I go(2 people can Finish the whole chicken). Less than $ 20 for a whole chicken 2 sides and aji salsa. But I must say its way better than pollo Inka that’s for sure.

The service was excellent, i didnt like that the chicken, fries or Cole slaw. The food wasn’t horrible, but the chicken was dry, the fries were bland and the cole slaw tasted like it was made many days before. I wish it was better, but i doubt i give it another try.

We decided to venture out from our usual Peruvian place in Hermosa Beach and finally try this place. While the chicken had a nice marinade and flavor to it, it would have helped if they would have charred it slightly to enhance the flavor better. It was a bit too soggy for our taste. The rice was plain and the salad was average. We also ordered the NY steak and it was OK. The seasoning was good and it was perfectly cooked. Not sure we will venture here again, too many other choices for us which are better.

Very inexpensive and the food is delicious. The employees are very friendly and courteous. The best pollo ala brasa in the South Bay area.

Whole chicken $ 10 and change. I don’t do the sides anymore. Parking and tables are slim to none. Always order to go now and if necessary, you can park on the other side of the tracks at the grocery store.

The aroma of wood burning as you close in on the restaurant fills the air :-), must come here to experience.

This place is literally a trap house. I heard about them on Unilocal and now I find myself coming for lunch at least twice a week. The chicken is out of this world; it’s the only place I know in LA that has actual WOOD fired chicken. I think that is only allowed because of the extremely weird zoning laws Gardena has for this section of town. I’m taking advantage of it for as long as possible because that wood smokiness definitely translates over to the chicken. Also, the aji sauce is green crack.

Hands down one of the best chicken spots in the South Bay. If you like Peruvian style chicken this is the place. Unlike El Pollo Inka, Polla a la Brasa uses real wood to cook their chickens… no gas. Price is VERY affordable. Their green Sauce is amazing Parking Sucks If you try to come late at night they might not have any more chicken.

This place is «OK». The chicken smells a lot better walking by then what it actually tastes. I ordered the half chicken — which comes with 8 pieces of chicken, Fries, salad and I added a side of rice. The fries were bland and a little stale and so was the chicken. I was surprised it only came with two little Aji sauces(Are people supposed to share?) I like salsa so this was a disappointment especially when the chicken lacked flavor. Make sure you pay for extra Aji if the meal is for more than two people. I did like the rice and the salad was really good, fresh beets in a salad are thumbs up in my book. Only reason why I gave this place three stars.

Without a doubt the best Peruvian chicken I’ve tried so far, and the absolute best rotisserie chicken I’ve ever had anywhere! I hate how rotisserie chicken at most places often turns out dry and way too salty — but not at Pollo A La Brasa! Chicken here is thoroughly tender and juicy, not too salty, and the amazing smoky flavor really sets this place apart from everywhere else. Their excellent, spicy aji sauce goes so well with the chicken! Reasonable prices too, with a good selection of sides.

I had their fish tacos and I have to say they are some of the best tasty fish tacos I’ve had in a good while. I’ll be visiting them again.

So, so, so good. The large pile of wood outside the building and the smoky aroma for blocks around should be enough to convince you. Parking stinks but there is a large public lot behind/west of the restaurant. No frills, very«mom and pop,» but very tasty fresh-off-the-charcoal-grill food. Delicious!

The food is A M A Z I N G!!! The chicken, aguaditos, the AJI sauce. I can say that i was impressed on the fast service as well as the taste of the food. It was my boyfriends’ first time trying it and he loved it. Overall, i would have to say that I will most definitely be going more.

Delicious! Chicken is cracklin’ skin, and healthy juiciness. Fries are naturally-flavorful(soft insides, crunchy outsides). Corn is frozen, so next time, get the salad. Horchata was good as well. I’ll be back!

This might be the best pollo a la brasa I’ve ever had. The only other place that comes close is Takatis all the way up in Van Nuys, but there’s nowhere near Gardena that has chicken this good. You don’t even need to walk in to tell how good this place is, the freakin’ smell is wafting into the street and there’s smoke everywhere. Anyway, onto the experience Ambience: At first glance it looks like a total hole in the wall, but as soon as you walk in, you realize it’s a full tilt operation. The oven behind the counter looks like it was built by a pro and there’s guys running in and out regularly grabbing wood to keep things going. The seating area is super small, and that’s why I downgraded a star, but at least they recently got some new furniture and it’s comfortable. Before it was leftover booths from an Arbys or something, but whatever. It looks like they have room to expand a little on the south side of the property and I would definitely consider doing that if I was the owner, even if it was at my expense. Food: You can get away with spending under $ 10, but I always go over. I get the half chicken with two sides. The chicken is alway excellent. It’s got a really nice, wet texture and is super tender. You can use a plastic fork and knife, but I always dig in with my hands. They have the green spicy sauce which is a must. I’ve had better green sauce at other pollo a la brasa places, but this is fine and gets the job done. They could probably stand to use some mayo in the sauce base to make it a little more creamy. Side orders: I’ve had the fries, salad, coleslaw and beans before. I would say the fries are a must, as that is the typical way pollo a la brasa is ordered. I like to go with the salad now, it’s prety simple with light dressing and comes with some thin slices of beats and radishes too. The coleslaw can be hit or miss. If there’s a lot of demand, you can usually get a pretty fresh batch, but if nobody’s had it that day, you’re gonna get a soggy mess. The beans are ok too, my fellow co-workers like them more than I do. They need some more flavor in my opinion, but still good overall. In a nutshell: If you like a decent, healthy chicken dish for lunch, drop in here and give it a shot, you won’t be disappointed. If you like pollo a la brasa, make absolutely sure you stop in because you’re gonna be craving it on the regular!

WORST service ever, They people there are very rude. Food was gross. The only thing that made my visit pleasant was this funny picture of a lady stealing the sauce.

Delicious delicious delicious! One of the best Peruvian chicken I had in a long time!!! Location is not that great. Small parking lot. It gets packed quickly. Ambiance is not too appealing. Very limited seating. When you first walk in you smell the smokey chicken that’s been slow cooking! My boyfriend and I got the whole chicken, with salad, rice, French fries, and chicken soup. The chicken is yummy! Perfectly cooked has that woody smokey flavor. The green sauce is crack!!! It’s spicy has a kick to it and seems like they put a lot of cilantro in it which I LOVE! I put it on everything my goodness!!! French fries were decent. Salad was disappointing because it lacked a good dressing on it… no flavor to it. I did although like how it had thin slices of beets in it. The rice is definitely a MUST with the chicken! The chicken soup is so yummy!!! I would definitely get it again. Very flavorful and taste like comfort food something your mom would make! We also ordered the Maracuya(passion fruit drink) delicious! Must get: chicken, rice, soup! This place is a solid 5 star based on food and not overall(appearance)

Their green cilantro sauce is meh, more spicier than other places, which i liked but i thought it lacked cilantro garlic flavor. The coleslaw is just coleslaw, so yall need to calm down bout it, mmmkay The chicken is quite bomb, falls off the bone bomb and is juicy slash tender. With a name like pollo a la brasa, do you dare try anything else? place is dirty but ppl line up for the food, not the ambience. on that note, it is perfect for take out! =)

Mmmmm… now, as anyone who knows me knows, I’m not known to gnaw on anything that once walked on land. On occasion, especially when I’m in omnivorous company who has a hankering for something fowl or beefy, I’ll partake. This happened at Pollo a la Braza. And I didn’t repent either. I only have a fake vegetarian card anyways… Let’s just keep it short and sweet. So here’s the breakdown(if you play free-word association while you read, it will be more fun). Chicken: Grilled. Succulent. Plentiful. French Fries: Thick. Crispy. Salty. Green Salad: Fresh. Colorful. Crunchy. Green Salsa stuff: Yum. Got kick. Worth stealing(they have pictures of the woman who did) Purple corn drink whose name now fails me: Sweet. Cinnamony? Pretty :) Price: Damn. Good. 2(Large Drink + Quarter Chicken Plate) = $ 17.09. Service: Counter. Brief. Me: Full. Satisfied. You: Got the picture? Go. Enjoy.

This chicken is amazing! Smokey with a ton of flavor. The reason why I’m not giving this place a 5 star is because the sides and service need to be worked on a little in my opinion. The rice and beans are so-so. The salad is no bueno. Let’s get to the service. There is always this guy there with a ninja turtle hat on with an attitude like he’s doing you a favor. Not too cool in my book. Anyways, check it out if you love chicken!
