First and only visit here was this morning. Stopped in to get a box of donuts in a time crunch. Was told that there is a fee to pay with my Visa debit /check card although they display Visa stickers on their windows. Not a fan of passing the fee to accept Visa on to your customers. If it was a true fee that you should be charging — similar to tax — then I would think that it would be itemized on my receipt too. It was not.

A few years ago I would have been the LAST person to ask about good donuts… then I was pregnant and BAM, I became a donut connoisseur! Believe me, I have tried A LOT of donuts(to keep the comparison fair I try maple glazed or just regular glazed). Until recently I would say Ralph’s grocery store(oddly) had the best. Then I tried Sunny Donuts and WOW. The most melt-in-your-mouth donuts EVER. I’ve tried them a few times at different times of the day(just to make sure it wasn’t a fluke wonderful donut) and they are consistently wonderful. Their croissants are very yummy, too.

My sister is a fitness craze/model so she goes on crazy diets and then goes crazy binge eating after competitions. Totally healthy right? Anyway, she decided that this is the week she is going to go back on dieting so knowing me I said well lets go pig out before you get all nutzo! So we went to Sunny Donuts on Venice Blvd,(there wasn’t one on Venice Blvd so I decided to just write a review on one of the already made ones) and we totally pigged out. I got a huge fat yummy chocolate donut and she got a chocolate donut with coconut sprinkles on top. I can’t vouch for the service at this donut shop, but the donut shop on Venice Blvd. at 9pm had a sweet little lady with no other customers than me and Am. She served us our donuts with a sense of urgency and Am and I scarffed down the donuts like crazy in the SHOP! Not even taking it to go like normal people. After our sweet tooth we went to In and Out to get fries. But that’s another story.

ok i’ve been going to this donut shop for the past like 12 years since my school was across the street. Their donuts are soooo freakin fresh… i mean the are by far the best donuts in LA. The sugar twists just melt in your mouth… i mean what more can you ask for a nice soft, fresh, melt in your mouth donut! Go stop by… they have private lot and speedy service!
