The staff is not friendly at all. They give you cents for books when your selling. If your desperate to get some cash then don’t waste your time here. For $ 130 worth of books they paid me $ 22. Waste of time and open when they want to be open.

I don’t know why many people have bad luck at this place… I buy from here majority of the time and ive never had a problem, and to the review someone said about them not letting you return them, I know when I purchased two of my books the guy told me I had like two weeks to return them for a full refund. The only reason I knock it down two stars is because they are not very friendly and its sometimes awkward going in there, you would think they would be much nicer especially since I never see them busy there. but their attitude is the only thing knocking down the two stars.

I will NEVER buy books here again. If you buy your books a month in advance when you’re enrolled in your classes, you’ll get a much better deal on Amazon or other online bookstores anyway. The people who are suckers are ones who waited until the last minute and want to pay less than the school bookstore, like me in this case. I bought a workbook, which they shouldn’t even sell since it has tear out pages. I should have checked before paying but who goes through a 100+ page book? I went back w/o my receipt. They were nice enough to give me another book free after I explained my situation. That might have been great but when I went home, there were still missing pages in BOTH books. Now I have 2 useless copies. I bought a new copy and should have done that to begin with and saved myself time, money and aggravation. There was another girl who also had the same problem as I did in the same class so the QC needs to improve here.

The employees here are not friendly and acted like it was such an inconvenience to help me. Their prices aren’t much cheaper than anywhere else. Would not recommend.

Do Not Purchase Your Books Here! I agree with another Unilocal Review on here about their exchange policy. Well they don’t even have one, look at your receipt and you will see nothing. Once you make your purchase there is no returning the book they give you some lame ass excuse about it can only be returned within a week or so. The guys that work here are a bunch of pervs and idiots if you ask me. So disappointing how this bookstore can be located right across a community college. Even if you do purchase their used books here they are scribbled or highlighted or pages missing. I’d rather just go with a used ELCO book. If this is your last resort then by all means go for it.

This is a poor excuse for a business next to a community college where students are trying to expand their educational careers and goals! They offer no exchange policy whats so ever! You would think a customer who had spent over 100 $ could simply exchange a book for another one in their stock, but no. I SPOKEDIRECTLY to the manager which he kept insisting me to do his buy back option. Their buy back options are horrible, for a 35 $ book he was trying to give me only 7 $. I suggest their business to put NOEXCHANGES on their receipts as well, that way they can better INFORM their customers of their policy. Because of this simple situation(which they wouldn’t have lost any money on if they did the exchange) they LOST not only a good paying customer, but as well as my RESPECT!!! I’d rather pay the extra 3 – 5 $ at the El Camino Book Store then go back to this business!

They aren’t very friendly, however they do give you more money for your books than El Camino does!

Don’t buy your books here. They gave me the wrong book for a class and I didn’t have my receipt anymore. I wasn’t expecting to receive the wrong book so I didn’t hold on too tight to the receipt. The book was in perfect condition and they wouldn’t even exchange it for another book. I can understand if I needed to bring the book back because I dropped or changed my class, but it was THEIR error. I went back twice after they insisted I had the correct book, but my instructor told me they were wrong. I had to sell it back to them. They gave me $ 20 for a $ 100. I don’t think I should have to pay for their mistake. I have a few more semesters to go and I will never buy another book for Textbooks, Inc and if you’re smart then you’ll also find somewhere else to buy your books too.

i really wish i wasn’t the first review. i had a really hard time finding this place because there were no reviews. im just posting here so that people are aware that this place is right across the street from El Camino College on Crenshaw. by the time i located a textbook store(other than the one on campus), they had already sold out of «used» versions of the book i needed. nonetheless, i was still able to purchase the«new» edition for not much less, but still LESS than the El Camino Bookstore. still not as cheap as , but if half doesn’t have your book, try this place to save some money.
