It’s a real shame their customer service is terrible because the food is good. I literally stood in the doorway for 15 minutes with several other parties and no one came over. They just pretended like we weren’t even there. And there were a good amount of people working. Goes to show that no Matter how good your food is, customer service is a way bigger deal. I’m super disappointed. Whoever is running this business needs to invest in a hostess. And they should allow people to make reservations. If you want to go and experience the worst, rudest people in the restaurant business then I would suggest going here. Otherwise, go somewhere that actually values their customers.

It’s the best breakfast restaurant in Hudson valley. But they don’t open Mondays and Tuesdays and take long vacations. You need to check before you go if they open. I love their French toast– seasonal and banana bacon. Their burgers are awesome too. I like that they get local ingredients always fresh.

LOVETHISPLACE!!! Order the fries, they are awesome. Burgers rock, breakfast is great… ingredients are fresh, always cooked just right. Wish they were open longer hours and every day of the week!

I’m at Mio quite a bit. Banana bacon French toast is insanely good, corned beef hash amazing. BLT’s, Burgers, parmesan truffle fries! Everything is delish. What’s not to love about this place.

Corned beef hash was great because they used real cuts of Corned beef, definitely would go back to try something else. Service was pretty quick overall.

This place used to be amazing. I ate here 3 – 4 times a week for two years. I have a feeling they’ve changed management because in the past three months: –I have found a hair in my food on TWO separate occasions –they were repeatedly out of ice on hot summer days. This seems like something easy to avoid –a friend of mine had a plastic to-go bag thrown at them when they were picking up their food –the people I’ve dealt with on the phone/the hostess on different occasions were remarkably rude I don’t know what happened at this place, but I don’t go here anymore and I never recommend this place to anyone anymore. The food was good, but the repeated horrible customer service experiences make it a difficult sell.

Pleasant, welcoming and very warm atmosphere. The staff were very polite and attentive. Checked up on us several times while eating. On top of the friendly environment and beautiful décor, the food was excellent. I ordered the banana, bacon French toast and the combination of sweet and salty was surprisingly good. The portion was generous, too much too finish! I also ordered a large bowl of fresh fruits and enjoyed very much the selection. Probably won’t be up here for a very long time but first impressions are important to me. And this place won me over from the start!

After hiking in Minnewaska all day, we were craving some fresh local food. Café Mio did not disappoint. We had a delicious avocado grilled cheese and bean burger, as well as the vegetable chili, served with huge portions of beautiful crisp greens. I accidentally left my handbag, and the owner took it upon himself to contact me and mail the bag to my address in Manhattan. I could not have asked for a tastier meal, or more considerate service!

The food looked delicious. I wish it wasn’t so oily/buttery. I ordered a grilled cheese with fries. My grilled cheese tasted like burnt oil and it left oil all over my mouth. My fries became soggy and oily after sitting on my plate for a few minutes. One thing I did like was the outdoor seating which allowed for our dogs to hang out with us while we ate.

Exceptional cuisine, atmosphere and service makes this worthy of a short & scenic drive off I-87. We tried the huevos ranchero us & the pancetta omelette both bursting with flavor. Fresh local ingredients are a staple at this award winning café(we saw the article on their website and FB page!). We missed the long list of specials on the board so be sure to check it out before ordering. So many tempting choices we are going to try to hit this place again on our trip home next weekend. If you want to be impressed, sit at the counter and watch the chef work his magic! It was entertainment at it’s finest for us foodies.

I am being generous and giving this place 4 stars. I came here for lunch and waited a looooong time for the food, but when it eventually came, it was good. I had the avocado frittata and my husband had the corn and cheddar omelette. Both were good, the side salad was good, and the side of fries was also good. I was prepared to give this place a 1 – 2 star review because of the long wait for service, but I was given a free dessert which was totally delicious(chocolate pecan pie) and a free GUS soda. The wait staff profusely apologized for the length of time it took the food to arrive, so I cannot really fault the restaurant for that. Mistakes happen. The omelette and frittata were 3 ½ star quality. The dessert was 5 star quality. Hence the four stars!

This place was awesome. The service was very polite. The food was amazing. The atmosphere was a quiet coffee shop, small in size but huge in personality. Seemed to be run by a family, well maintained and much pride put into the production. I will definitely come back to eat more on this great menu.

Great Breakfast experience. took their basic option — 2 eggs(any style), served with greens and toast. Love the greens side instead of potatoes. it was refreshing option. place is clearly popular as it was busy on a Sunday morning with almost all tables taken, Very friendly servers, good coffee, will definitely be back when in the area.

Great breakfast and service. The eggs with goat cheese, crab and scallions were excellent. Served with side salad. The French toast with seasonal fruit was a bit too sweet as they add lots of cream and chocolate syrup but the French toast was excellent w local maple syrup. Yum! Very nicely prepared a special item for our needs. Great outdoor view in back to take scenic shot. Small but nice.

Small place with big flavors Very creative menu with great service. Ordered huevos rancheros. Perfectly over easy egg came on a bed of black beans served in a small tortilla cup. Garnished with fresh diced tomatoes and carrot strings. All served on a bed of fresh greens. Very different but the flavors all came together deliciously. Excellent. Very nice local brew coffee that is flavorful but not too strong. Side of local bacon — again excellent. Wifey had toasted tomato, avocado and cheese on home made bread. Again very good. Very good breakfast with local fresh ingredients in a small cozy atmosphere.

This place is hopping for breakfast on the weekends! Reservations are recommended, especially if you are coming with a big crowd. That said, if you get there for opening, you should be okay. There is counter space to sit at and we had no problem getting a table for 2 right at 9am. By 10am — there was a wait. My friends and I used to drive out to New Paltz for a good bite to eat so I am happy to report that is not needed with the arrival of Café Mio to the area! Café Mio are serving up all of your breakfast staples — egg dishes with toast and assorted meats(sausage, bacon) and nice thick slices of artisanal bread with butter to accompany. I also love that they have a lightly dresses salad to balance out the fried potatoes :) The sweeter breakfast fare like apple french toast and pancakes are also of plentiful proportion. Overall, a very well done, solid breakfast done in Gardiner. Worth a stop if you’re a local or staying at one of the many B&B’s in the area. I would love to return for lunch or dinner!

We stopped by for a bite between pork butt buying at Adams and wine tasting at Whitecliff. One word, Exquisite. The soup. Roasted butternut squash with apples.($ 3) for a cup comes with two slices of hand cut soft white bread toast. It was hedonistic vegan. Meatloaf Sando($ 11). Perfect 1.5 inch slab of caramelized beef, flecks of carrot and onion, topped with astringent pickled red onion and creamy horseradish. Showered by a mountain of hand cut slim NOT shoestring fries. Goat cheese and oven dried tomato olive panini. Panini was a touch dry on the outside, could have used some lubrication like mayo, but was otherwise incredible. Six layer chocolate cake. This cake was epic. It was like the cake that Pollyanna gets at the fair except that it was chocolate. The most delicious homey tasting perfect chocolate cake ever. I don’t even love cake and devoured half of it in bed, right before I fell asleep because I couldn’t leave it over night for the ghosts.($ 6). Seriously — GO!!! I wish I could have gone back today.

What can I say? Deelish! Everything, start to finish was just great. The mini-mall style storefront restaurant is very cute. About 12 tables. Nice selection of micro brews in bottles. The breakfast items looked super, we chose from the lunch menu; sausage and peppers, soups, falafel, etc all nicely prepared. Service and setting are just great(the view of the Shawangunk Ridge from this area is so worth the drive!). Everything was perfect on this visit. Looking forward to another visit.

I went café mio for Saturday late lunch around 2pm. Casual atmosphere, has wide open kitchen. Nice paintings on the wall seems for sale. Generally very laid back and comfortable setting. Some tables were not clean so we had to look for clean table. It wasn’t busy, there were one more table was occupied. They displayed daily special on blackboard, it was great selection of menu. I ordered rack of lamb with local vegetable, cream of mushroom soup and my husband ordered BBQ burger with blue fries. Cream of mushroom soup was huge portion but I’m afraid to say it wasn’t my style. It wasn’t creamy enough for my taste. But still it was decent. My rack of lamb was also huge potion. I knew I won’t be able to finish even half. Lamb was good but somewhat very gummy for me. Sautéed vegetable made good balance with lamb. It was okay. BBQ burger was huge portion as well. My husband finished it all. It came with blue fries, it was average. I really wanted to love this place but didn’t work for me. Liked their menu selections and concept of using local products. But it’s just not for me. Service was decent. Plenty parking space in front of the restaurant.
