Such a dope spot. Old-timey yet modern. Classy yet homey. Another great reason to get off exit 18. They make spirits from their own farm! This is the kind of place I would go just for the atmosphere but the drinks are killer, food is awesome. It’s bound to blow up. Right down the road from Tuthilltown spirits as well(the people who create Hudson whiskey and birthed farm distilling in New York). If I still lived in the area this is definitely where I’d bring first dates. Highly recommended for anyone who likes the finer things in life. Located right in the valley of the gunx. don’t get me started.

This place is an absolute gem. It ranges from a staple stop on your artisanal spirit tour of the Hudson valley, to the town speakeasy. Cocktails and small plates for every taste and the staff is top notch. The indoor space reminds me of a barn, and the outdoor space in the warmer months is going to be amazing. The fact that can purchase locally produced spirits in the shop in the front of the building after trying products at the bar makes me feel more efficient… two birds with one stone! Get there early for a seat at the bar!

Gardiner, NY may not be on everyone’s «Travel Bucket List,» but it’s quickly becoming the epicenter of Hudson Valley Craft Beverage. Within a very small radius of this tiny town, one can visit a multitude of wineries, breweries, distilleries and cideries. Until recently, though, these selfish establishments expected you to DRIVE from one to another if you wanted to taste all their different products. Buncha jerks, amirite? Luckily, Gardiner Liquid Merchantile is here to help! Stop in their quaint, newly-renovated building on Main Street to experience all the Gardiner area has to offer, all in one place. Sourcing exclusively from ultra-local producers, GLM is a combination bar/tapas restaurant/tasting room/retail store packed into one building. Did you like that hard cider you just ordered at the bar? Good news! It’s available to purchase by the bottle in the next room! Curious about other beers from the brewer you just tried? Guess what! Their brewery is just a mile up the road!(and there’s a very good chance the brewer himself will be here for a drink later this evening) That wine? Yeah, it’s a new vintage. The wine-maker just dropped it off this morning while he was getting coffee. Seriously, it’s THAT local. In addition to booze, they’re also serving small dishes of high-quality food sourced from the enormous number of area farms. Certainly not a sit-down, 3-course meal sort of situation, but they’ve got salads, soups, charcuterie, and other small-plate munchies to keep you happy while you quaff. I’ve even heard of the occasional brunch special of French Toast made from local apple cider donuts.(I know, right?) Bottom line, if you like high-quality cocktails, craft beverages, and buying local, this should be your new watering hole. I’ll see you there!

Just what The Doctor ordered! A hip, comfortable, warm bar with lite fare, at the foot of the Shawangunk Mountains in Gardiner, NY. Love the atmosphere, and what a wonderful place to come in from the cold. Great fare and many locally made beers, bourbons and ciders are served. You can sit relax with neighbors and friends, chat with their warm and friendly master mixologists or just stop in to grab one of the many local libation’s that they sell to take out. Ride along the rail trail, stop in for wonderful late afternoon drinks or early evening delicious small bites and stay while, you’ll be glad you did.
