Appoggio

I’ve been working out at Appoggio’s for nearly one year and am extremely pleased with the results. I love the full body, strength training, core workout. Appoggio’s provides variety, hands on training and trainers who encourage and push you to reach your potential!

TERRIBLE!
I’ve never written a negative review in my LIFE, but I don’t want what happened to me to happen to anyone else!
As far as the workouts go at Appoggio, they are okay, but not fun and engaging enough to keep me coming back. I had initially signed up for a year with the understanding that I could cancel my membership at any time for $ 100. A few months into my membership I asked the owner Stephanie (she is also the only trainer I ever met there) in a text message if she would do this this for me. She said «okay». I expected that she would charge me the $ 100 and I would be done with that place.
Several months later as I am reviewing my bank statements I see that this gym has continued to to pull money out of my account. At first I thought it was an honest mistake so I attempted to call Stephanie and left messages on her phone. She did not return one phone call or text. One day I called her from work and she picked up the phone. I asked her if she had been receiving my calls and texts (I’m still thinking there must be some mistake), she tells me yes she has, and I need to write a letter stating my intention to stop coming (note: I haven’t been to her gym in 7 months!) and she will get back to me soon.
In a few days she refunded me the latest month’s payment. When I attempted to contact her again about the rest of the money she AGAIN ignored my calls and texts. It became obvious to me that this was NO mistake. I went down to her gym to speak with her and she then told me because I signed a contract stating that I needed to declare in writing that I wished to stop coming to her gym she was fully in the right to keep drawing money out of my account! I showed her the text message where I stated IN WRITING that I wished to stop coming and I was fully okay with the $ 100 fee. I was furious.
I’ve certainly learned my lesson to check my bank statements more often, but it still does not give someone the right to knowingly steal money. It gives me the heebie-​jeebies. If I needed to give her something in writing she should have told me so when I first told her of my intention to stop coming in that text message. I deal with clients and contracts as well and respectfully remind them when they do not remember off-​hand the terms of the contract.
Do not engage with this very disingenuous, low-​integrity business owner. There are some better gyms in the area and are CERTAINLY much better priced for what you are getting here.

I’ve just started working out at Appoggio. What an experience. I have known for a long time how body weight exercising beats the free weights and machines. But it only works with a great trainer like Stephanie. She knows how to push you and when to take care of you when you’ve pushed yourself too hard. The different exercises reduces muscle memory and you get a full workout. Don’t get fooled hanging from a strap and working out is far from easy, but its much safer as well.

I love getting a «full body» workout each time I go and the trainers actually make exercising fun! It’s the best workout I’ve found. If you haven’t tried TRX yet, why not give it a try? Your first day is FREE! I suggest getting a friend or two to workout with.

Great establishment that offers an alternative to the rows of treadmills and weight machines you get with the chain gyms. The class structure allows for a variety of workouts and many different time slots to fit your schedule.
I like that you can go to Appoggio every day of the week and not get bored with the classes, as the variety keeps it interesting. One consistent thing that will get worked is your core!
In the past few months of going to Appoggio, I have noticed gains in strength as well as stamina, especially when running. Definitely have found the place I needed to get in great shape!
