Im only giving two stars for the view. The food is very overpriced and way under delivered! Poor quality… no effort put into the food quality at all. Clam chowder was watery and I had two bites of clam! Shrimp melt was mostly cheese for $ 12. Old lettuce and an unripe tomato for a garnish. I will not be back.

We had the heartiest breakfast here. All fresh ingredients, portions definitely on the large side. Relaxing atmosphere, right on the water. We will return!

Great views are the best you can expect from the restaurant. The service is friendly, but terribly slow. The food is adequate for the price, but nothing special. Overall, it was a nice place for a casual dinner, but I cannot recommend anything in particular.

The view was very impressive. The ambiance wasn’t quite what me and my husband were going for on our anniversary, but given it was a last minute trip, that was on us for not finding something little better than a fancy family diner. The food was pretty good. The tables were kind of huge, so my husband sat next to me, rather than across from me. The bar there is limited, so I had a Cap’n & Coke and he had some house wine. Both were good. The food was decent, though I don’t think it was quite worth the price. The waitress was nice and quick. Overall our experience was good, just not fantastic.

Food was just awesome — my family are seafood aficionados and we ordered a smörgåsbord of fresh fish, mollusks and shell fish and everything was great. My daughter even said it was the best Cezar salad she’s ever had. A lot of the reviews seemed to indicate the service is hit and miss, but we experienced and saw nothing but fantastic service. Oh, and the view is spectacular!

This place makes a crab Louie to die for! It is huge and a true work of art, what’s more is it is even more delicious than it is beautiful! This is a salad that you leave feeling as though you should have paid more! The place is super clean, the staff is wonderful and friendly and the view is incredible! All in all this dining experience has you always coming back for more. It is our go to place EVERYTIME we drive this way and my bet is it would be yours too, give it a try is my suggestion, I think you’ll love it!

I’ve eaten here many times over the years and lasts nights dinner was absolutely perfect. There were nine of us and everything came out great. We had fish, steaks, pasta, crabs, a lobster and a burger and it was all good. Beautiful view of a sunset over the bay.

Beautiful view to make up for ridiculously slow service. The seating feels like you’re sitting on a ferry boat overlooking the water which was kinda cool. Food was okay bit not thrilling. They didn’t provide a beverage menu right away and when asked the server appeared to be judgmental. No offer for a second beverage either. server was never around to take any follow up orders. Waiting for the processing of our bill took forever. All of this when they were only three tables. At least the view was nice.

My Wife and I ate dinner here after several locals in Rockaway Beach recommended it. Dinner was everything expected and more. The Crab Cake was the best we have ever eaten. Also, had the fresh Halibut and Crab legs. Everything was perfect. Was aware that service might be a tad slow, but, we were in no hurry and there is not a bad seat in the Restaurant. We will return here on our next trip up the coast for sure.

I have no complaints about the food. I have enjoyed many meals over the years here but I would like to suggest that they take advantage of their million dollar view by having the windows washed. There are cobwebs and other things I don’t understand hanging off the windows not to mention just dirt in general. This is your biggest asset but we can’t enjoy it. Also, the last couple of times we went in there was a horrible smell… kind of like someone vomited and they didn’t get it all out of the carpet. We witnessed a couple coming in, be seated and then after a brief conversation they left. We are guessing it was the smell. I think it might be time for some deep cleaning.

What a terrible experience. Took my son and his homecoming date here for the big dinner before the dance. For all of us, it was our first time here. The view is supposedly spectacular, unfortunately, we couldn’t see anything this night. Our server was very friendly and good at what she does. That’s about the last positive thing I have to say about our experience. I ordered the Razor Clams and Oysters. With the macaroni and cheese(listed as a special on the board), and a side salad with poppyseed vinaigrette. I also ordered an oyster shooter as an appetizer. Both kids ordered the fettuccine chicken Alfredo, both with mashed potatoes. My date ordered the lobster halibut, with mashed potatoes and a salad with blue cheese dressing. Both kids ordered a coke, my date ordered the house white wine. I was ok with water. The drinks came out first, along with some bread and butter. Shortly after the drinks, the server appeared and informed us that they were out of mashed potatoes.(ironically, the baked potato was still an option) They were also out of Mac and cheese. They were also out of rice. Laughing, I asked what options we had?! Baked potato or salad. I asked if those of us that had two sides could have soup and salad. She checked with the chef and said that was fine. My date changed her side to clam chowder, my side changed to French onion soup, one kid changed to Caesar salad and the other decided against a side. About 10 minutes later I flagged the server down and asked if I could have my oyster shooter. She told me the kitchen was still working on it. Five minutes later she delivered the shooter, and informed us they were out of side salads. They only had Caesar. Mine was changed to Caesar, my date reluctantly changed hers as well. At this point, it should be noted, that drinks were long gone and still no food except the bread and oyster shooter. The oyster shooter had way too much grit and crunch. A strong 5 minutes later, the salads arrived. Shortly thereafter the soups. Nothing wrong with the food, but certainly nothing to write home about. Then we waited, again. We even had time to be recruited to take pictures of a proposal. About 15 minutes after the soups, and a solid 45 mins since being seated, our food arrived. Lobster was very chewy. Razor clams were delicious, oysters were inedible. I didn’t try the kid’s stuff. I sent everyone to the car while I took care of the bill. I asked the server if there was a manager I could speak to. She told me they don’t have a manager, only the chef who is also the owner. She went to speak with him, came back, and told me he’d meet me in front. I waited there ten minutes. When he came I introduced myself and told him about my experience. He immediately began to tell me how they switched vendors, and there was nothing he could do about it. He also said, «We weren’t expecting to be this busy.» I asked him how it was that they didn’t expect to be busy on a Friday night, let alone homecoming night?! He simply responded that he didn’t expect it, then wanted me to feel bad that he will have to close an hour early because they’re out of so many things. I reiterated that I was uncomfortable paying $ 130 for an incomplete meal, let alone such an incomplete experience. He barely uttered a sorry. Not one single ounce of effort towards trying to make things right. Only excuses, which I didn’t care to hear. Sorry for the long story of the last time I’ll ever eat at Pirate’s Cove.

This is one cove you don’t want to visit. To start the décor is something from the 90’s its horribly out dated and not cute. The food prices are HIGH so one would hope the quality would be stellar. Well let’s just say is rather eat at Denny’s then this place. I came with a group of 5 others and everyone was generally disappointed in the dish chosen. The sever was pleasant but we over heard another customer ask for a Long Island iced tea. The response was we can only make basic drinks nothing fancy. We were all surprised because the prices are so high we thought this was a fancy place! Ugg. My suggestion is to keep on driving by. Oh any they don’t accept American Express.

We live on the east coast and are in town for a weekend of hiking. We actually ate here two years ago specifically because they have whole Dungeness crab available. I did have a memory of the atmosphere being a bit drab but for just crab I thought it wasn’t a deterrent. So we decided on this trip to go there once again for the crab. I was only feeling some hesitation after reading some of the reviews but then also found an article online in Oregon coastal living that listed this restaurant as one of the best seafood dives to eat at. So that sealed the deal for us. The restaurant was bright and sunny and the hostess and wait staff were very cheery and pleasant. I ordered the crab and my husband ordered the fresh razor clams that were on special. Everything was delicious including the side dishes. Very pleasant experience from one end to the other and we will be back again next time we are in the area.

My husband and I came here on a weekend trip with the hopes that this would be our«romance-ish dinner» place. Unfortunately, it was a big, fat flop. The gal who seated us was pretty rude. We were the only people in the joint, so she asked us where we wanted to sit. We picked a table, and then she said that was set for«day service». So I went to select a different table, but my husband stuck to his guns. Turns out, all she did to turn it from«day» into«night» was remove the laid out silverware for sets that were rolled up in napkins. Alrighty, thanks for mentioning that. The gal who ended up being our waitress was actually very nice. Phew. The inside of the place, at night, with no one else in it, was very… train-car. Maybe it’s better during the day when you can see the water, but at night you just feel like you’re in a weird fishbowl because all the curtains were up so every window seemed like a mirror. The shrimp cocktail was unremarkable — bay shrimp in a dish, cocktail sauce in a separate dish. The clam chowder was equally unremarkable. I salted it, I peppered it, I put oyster crackers in it, and it was still really nothing to write home about. Bummer. For my entrée, I had the baked halibut, and I have to say it was DELICIOUS. Some of the best I have ever had. Whoever cooked it knows how to cook halibut. It wasn’t dried out at all, nice big piece, and the topping was full of flavor. However, the rice pilaf that came with it was terrible, it tasted worse than the 90-second Uncle Ben’s in the bag. And no veggies to be seen. I thought that was a little strange. My husband had a steak and remarked that he was pretty sure it was broiled. I’m no steak expert, so I don’t know if that’s odd or not, but he wasn’t very thrilled about it. Shrug. The menu has a ton of seafood options, as well as chicken and steak. I did love my fish, but I would not come back here if I were in the area, as much as I had high hopes.

I have no idea why everyone is reading this place so low. We had amazing service from Cheryl, great tasting food, and great drinks. This was a perfect spot to come for a romantic dinner with my husband on our vacation. We showed up at 6:30 and stay till closing at 8 o’clock. I had the steak and salmon, the steak was perfect as every filet mignon should be and the salmon was battery and cook to perfection. My husband had a ribeye that was also just as delicious and we had the oysters as an appetizer. We could not have been more happy with the service and the food it was really delicious and we would definitely come back. Cheryl our server was also very attentive but not pushy at all. We had a few laughs and closed the place down!

The view is really the only highlight of this restaurant. We went on a busy Saturday with only ONE server for the whole place. She was loud and rude, probably because she was frazzled with how many tables she had. There was some sort of manager there but he didn’t seem to be helping her out much. In our group some dishes were good, some mediocre, and one dish that was almost inedible and ALL completely overpriced! We almost left when we realized how slow the service would be and really wish we had gone with that instinct! Oh my gosh and there are two steps in the middle of the restaurant if we had to hear«watch your step TWO times» SCREAMED anymore that day I may have lost my mind…

While taking a trip to the Oregon coast, my wife as dying to eat breakfast and we were playing the, «I don’t care where we eat, you pick» game. We came around a corner and there was Pirate’s Cove. I wish we would’ve kept going! When we got here, it was a beautiful morning. The clouds had just lifted and we had a fantastic view of the bay. Sun glasses were needed to help dim the massive reflection from the water, the view is what earns the 2 stars. I ordered some Biscuits and Gravy. It was forgettable and real generic. I didn’t finish what I had since the gravy was horrendous. With my B&G I ordered a Bloody Mary which was the saddest drink I’ve ever had served. It was a $ 7 short glass that tasted like V8. My wife ordered a crab omelette. In all fairness, it wasn’t bad. I had a few bites, and it was pretty decent. My wife ordered a mimosa and they charged $ 9 for the OJ and bubbly. I was pretty put off with the prices this place charged. Breakfast came out to the $ 50 range, and i felt the value didn’t match the price at all. I would much rather put that $ 50 towards a nice dinner with a view, versus a mediocre(at least for the wife… mine was garbage!) breakfast with a view. If you want to drop some coin and have a great view, this place will work just fine. If you want to get a really good breakfast at a somewhat reasonable price, keep on driving north or south to the next city.
