This is by far my favorite bakery. I like how I can stop by and get petit fours, cupcakes, and other sweet treats without a preorder. The decorators are very talented. I pre order for large orders. The sweets from this bakery are always a hit.

Love George and his cakes are so good! I’ve only tried the white almond cake flavor and it’s so distinct and goooood… I don’t know if it’s because he also makes donuts or because they use some part of the same flour but the cake kinda tastes like a glazed donut as well… whatever it was, it was yummy! He made us a simple white/​mint green cake for my sister’s baby shower. We will be back!

Love this place, so much. We regularly come here for donuts. This place is perfect except for running out of pigs-​in-​a-​blanket before I get there, lol. My kids love the small table just for them.

Unfortunately I am a procrastinator. But this bakery rescued me.
The cake was so cute. We didn’t even want to cut into it.
It was delicious. The frosting wasn’t to sweet. It was great! The cake part was also great! We ordered chocolate.
Its price wasn’t bad at all.
I located another bakery and they charged double.
So I was happy in many ways.

My bridal shower cupcakes did not look at all the way they were supposed to. Also my wedding cake did not have all the flowers I bought for it put on there. They would only take cash for my wedding cake no checks or credit cards. They tried to put sheet cakes on the cake table at my venue. Also they had an attitude with my husband and mother. The only positive thing I have to say is the cake tasted great. We have been going to this bakery for years and have never had a problem until now. I am sad to say I was completely dissatisfied with the service and will never be back.

Best doughnuts in Garland.
It’s also a bakery and they only take cash and checks. Other reviewers have complained about that but I like the doughnuts so much that it’s worth stopping by the ATM on my way.

Italian Cream Cake, not so much. Small white cake with a few nuts and regular white buttercream icing (not what Italian cream is)! This was $ 25 and not worth it. I called and spoke with a man who was not helpful in the matter. I discussed my displeasure with the cake and requested a refund, he said sorry can’t do that. I then explained I would be reviewing this purchase online and with my friends and family about this horrible experience. Again with no help in the matter, his reply was «well you have got to do what you got to do!» Needless to say will never be back. Not the same place it used to be.

My sweet husband surprised me with a mini replica of our wedding cake to celebrate and remember our special day.
Best place to get a cake! Been coming here longer than I’ve been alive. Very reasonably priced and they make fresh cakes never dry or frozen.

Cupcakes: I made my husband take me here for cupcakes, and when I looked at them, I was depressed (presentation was blah). I purchased 2 anyways, and petit fours. The husband and I tasted everything, and threw it all away. I hate to say this, but that’s what happened.

Ordered 48 petit fours decorated with 2014 for my daughter’s graduation. They were honestly the best ones I have ever had! Cake was moist and my guests raved about them. I liked the chocolate better than vanilla, but I’m a chocolate girl. I will definitely order from them again. While I was there, I tried an apricot fried pie for good measure. Apricots were savory and sweet and pastry was flaky. If you’re not in Garland, it’s still worth the drive. Cash or check only… FYI.

Family has been going to this bakery for years for as I know 22 years.
Their cakes taste great.
We love the white cakes but the chocolate ones are not good.
Other baked goods are very good.
My weakness is the maple donuts and the other donuts they have.
Their buttercreme icing is awesome and probably the best in the area I had.
Iv been to other bakeries in Dallas/​Garland area and their cake/​icing is no match to this place.
I’m ordering my next Bday cake here too.

This bakery makes the freshest, best tasting, made from scratch cakes you will ever find. The quality is second to none. Menardo and Gloria are the friendliest people you will ever meet. They are very honest people. The donuts, petifores, muffins, pies, etc are wonderful. My family buys all of our birthday cakes from this bakery. I PROMISE YOU, Bakery by George will not disappoint you. Give them a try.

I have ordered lady bug sugar cookies from them around Feburary and they did them in heart shaped which was great. Not only were they pretty but they are delicious too. Today I purchased some white cake cupcakes and they are really good. I must say, I will be ordering my daughter’s birthday cake fairly soon from them

He did the cakes for our wedding. The man does an amazing job!!! And the taste — is second to none!!!
You WILL NOT find a better baker. He’s one of the last true bakers around.
Prices are very reasonable for the wedding and groom cakes, not the overpriced $ 1000 quote like most bakers in the DFW area.
Just know if you need custom cakes for weddings you better hit him up at least 2 or 3 months in advance.
I hope he’s around for many more years to come.

Amazing. I’ve been getting cakes from here for the last 10 years. They are just awesome, and so convenient since they have fresh made ones daily you can pick up spur of the moment without having to wait.

My hubby bought my birthday cake here a while back and it was good but was not decorated right and was slightly damaged on one side. For a 75 $ cake it should have been damage free and right size polka dots that were requested. Again though, it tasted good.

I recently revisited Bakery-​by George. As usual, the pastries are absolutely delicious; why go anywhere else?
I believe everything is made from scratch and the service is old-​fashioned in a good way… I mean, one person taking the time to wait on you, give you what you want and treating you well.
You’re not going to walk into this bakery and be ignored, overlooked or hassled. :0)
By the way, the cakes are superb!!!

Better than Sprinkles! Yes, I said better! I recently made the trip to what I thought would be a great cupcake only to wish I had driven the few blocks to Bakery by George! George’s cakes, cookies, lemon bars and donuts are to die for, and deserve so much more than that high dollar cupcake crap that is sold in at Preston & Northwest. Georges should go nation wide and put that cupcake place from LA outta business!
Love your place George, never leave Garland!
