BESTPOLLOSASADOSINDALLAS! We LOVE El Pollo Regio, and this location especially! There are multiple EPRs in Dallas. They have expanded by snapping up older or obsolete former chain restaurant buildings in varying conditions. Therefore, the quality of the various facilities they are in can range from new and clean to old and shabby. This restaurant was built new by EPR, and it is by far our favorite. Clean, open, airy, spacious — we love this location. But the best part is, of course, the food! Everything we have gotten here has been delicious – Pollos Asados are the specialty — fat roasted chickens marinated and rubbed all over in a delicious spice mix of chile, cumin, and lime before being roasted to perfection. The do beef here too — Carne Asada is always tender and flavorful. Ditto the Tacos al Carbon and Quesadilas. Tortas always have a generous amount and the Teleta bread they are served on is fresh and tender. And the green salsa here — ADDICTIVE! creamy avocado and Serrano chile lacks a punch but it’s so delicious you can’t stop eating it! They used to sell it in bottles, but sadly have stopped :( The 2 whole chicken meal for $ 28 sounds expensive, but these chickens are HUGE, and this meal will easily feed a family of 4 for a week. It’s what I go to for chaotic weeks or weeks when I have a sick kid to care for and no time to cook. We live El Pollo Regio and recommend it heartily — to eat in, take out, or Drive Thru!

I’ve seen this place forever and never stopped. I was more intimidated by the Spanish menu but when I seen the mucho nachos I just had to try. The nachos were so good! The best fast food nachos I’ve ever had! I will most definitely be back to try other items from their menu.

So true that this place is hit or miss. Some days the food is great other days its old and stale chicken. I drive about 20 min to this location so its a disappointment to get home and the food is not good. Some days they prepare the tortas well other times they leave out ingredients. The service is hit or miss as well. Sometimes the girls working there have a permanent B face other days they are super friendly. Seriously people, take some pamprin or go home.

OMG, the chicken was fantastic! I loved the beans and the rice was great. The salsa bar adds to the experience. Try the habanero sauce. I loved it! Big thumbs up.

Great chicken, always hot. Slow smoked over mesquite! Beans and rice are perfect ! They include salsa and tortillas on the side We just had taco al pastor, they were just plain good! Price may seem high but u get your money’s worth! I prefer this over the other chicken chains!

The food is good. But one thing I have noticed about this location is the service. The girls working here are so rude! They will get mad at you if you don’t tip them. And the place is always so dirty!!!

Salad as plain as it could be, chicken ok — pinto beans were bleached out from over cooking and were not seasoned. Corn and salsa bar brought this up to «average»

I love the smoky, roasted chicken. The half chicken lunch special is a very good value. Plenty of great chicken, lots of corn tortillas, big servings of beans and rice. I love the salsa bar, too. The cabbage slaw is great and the hot avocado sauce is terrific. Fresh pico de gallo and lots of other salsas, too. It can get kind of loud with all the arcade games, but I like this place.

Found this place on a whim while working in Garland for the week on business. Went there three days in a row! Was so yummy! And was the largest Pollo Regio I had ever seen with a large well-appointed inside dining area and outside patio. Traditional mexican décor. Service wonderful. Food tasty and made fresh. I had a love affair with the churros con cajeta(milk candy/caramel) during that time. Try them. Food made to order. We had burrito pirata with chicken, Taquitos with beef and pork, poblano mole, chicken quesidillas and guacamole. All great. Most come with rice and beans. And their Horchata drink was refreshing for a hot Texas day. Could of had a thousand of those.

My best friend took me here a few years ago for some Mexican food. Since then, I have came here and there for some Mexican food. For my first time, I was unable to read the menu because it was in Spanish so my friend ordered for me. I ordered the quesadilla(my friend called me «American» for ordering it) but it was sooo good. Even though it was so «Americanized» it was probably one of the best quesadillas I’ve had so far. The second and third time I went, I ordered tacos, the third time I ordered their baked potato. No matter what I ordered, they give you an awesome serving size(I seem to always walk out with a to-go box) and everything is delicious. They have great hot sauce. Don’t like the inside of the restaurant fool you, because even though their presentation is a bit dull, you get great food from this place!

The roasted chicken is awesome! Fresh and not greasy like some Mexican food. The prices are way cheap and they have an amazing green sauce! They lack in décor but don’t let that fool you. Sometimes the service is bad but take some food to-go and they won’t be and issue!

I give their chicken a 5, don’t try anything else, most other offerings are greasy and suck. This location is way better than the one at Plano, Rd and W. Walnut. W.Walnut and Garland Rd. is the good one. I live closer to the other one, but drive all the way here because they are faster and their food is great once again, just chicken.

Well I was surprised I wasn’t expecting the food to be this good for the price. Around $ 6-$ 8 for a meal. Inside atmosphere is good besides the palm trees… The food is very good, So far had the chicken quesadilla and chicken burrito. The chicken is mesquite charcoal grilled or cooked an is very good an flavor. The food exceeded my expectations. The desert churros I have had once at some other fast food restaurant an it sucked and this place«El Pollo Regio» The churros are made fresh an for the people who have never had one or thought to have one but didn’t think they will like it. The churro is like a Sophia with cinnamon and a filling in the middle. This time around I got Carmel but I wouldn’t mind trying the Chocolate Strawberry Vanilla Other — You could also compare it to a donut with cinnamon with a filling inside or deep fried donut. Very good– it was about a $ 1 for one an $ 4 for half a dozen. Pretty cheap. So I give this location a 5 stars for its. Rating : Food: 5 Stars Price: 5 Stars Cleanliness: 4 ½ Atmosphere: 4 ½ Theirs a wide variety of salsas for your meal. — Unilocal Reviewer.

Ohhhh… this is some good chicken! I have never tried anything else here but the chicken and the green dipping sauce is just amazing! And the prices for the chicken is very very reasonable. Wish I had one close to my house… I would be there every night I didn’t feel like cooking!

Fast delicious Mexican food; for $ 7.99 chicken lunch special is large enough for two people… half of a roasted chicken, roasted onions, borracho beans, rice, and corn tortillas plus drink. They have a spicy avocado cream sauce that I can’t get enough of and good salsa.

Austin has El Pollo Rico and Dallas has El Pollo Regio. Take your pick — both have great food. El Pollo Regio has established, sit down dining which is a real plus when you don’t want to carry out. I have eaten at other Regio locations around Dallas, but this place is hard to beat because the owners are clearly passionate about their restaurant, their employees are nice and friendly and they keep the entire place absolutely spotless(Taco Cabana: you could learn more than a few things from Regio!) As others have mentioned, the focus is on the chicken — right where it should be. They do cook it in advance and then keep it warm.(Hence my four stars vs five) So, it is definitely not cooked to order and that can also lead to some dryness with the thicker white pieces, but nothing too bad. That said, the chicken is wonderfully flavorful with some spice and a touch of charcoal smokiness — mmmmm. If you opt for the #1 whole chicken deal, you will need at least one adult friend to finish it and you both will leave full and satisfied and may have some leftovers to boot. A few stand-outs(other than the fab chicken)…the white corn tortillas are near perfect. The creamy green sauce is really off-the-scale yummy but the thicker green salsa(which might be a combo of the creamy green + guacamole) is one of the best salsas you will find in any Dallas Tex-Mex restaurant — it’s amazing. Finally, if you have any room left… be sure to check-out the killer tres leches cake. At $ 2.89 a slice, it’s not only a bargain but it may be some of the best tres leches cake around — it has an ideal balance of milk and cake — not too squishy, not too dry — it’s just about perfect — plus it’s rich and creamy without being over-the-top sweet. Hey, El Pollo Regio at Walnut and Garland Road — I want you to know — you are the best in Big D!

This place doesn’t look like much but their flavors pack a punch. It looks like your typical fast food place but it’s more than that. I had the Carne Asada and it had a good flavor and filled me up well. They also had some kind of queso like sauce you can put over them which was OK and extra heat if you want it hot. I can’t wait to try some of the other items. You can’t beat the price/flavor ratio at this place.

This place has the most authentic Mexican food I’ve ever had. This is no Tex-Mex. You have to try there spicy green chile, it is amazing. There is nothing on the menu you will not like. It is a comfortable atmosphere where anyone fits in.
