This was by far my #1 place to come and now I dont The staff are really rude. Food is at mid condition when served. The place looks like a house and not enough space they are not clean always left over food on floors or on the bunk seats there lighting always makes me feel like is about to fall on my head. Ohh and at times i go in but only for one drink on the go and every friday or saturday there is a man double charging me for my drink so I pay $ 5 for a medium drink because apparently everything cost the double on the weekend and a small bag of chips and salsa is $ 10 . I had to argue with him to lower the price because its usually 3 $ for my drink and that he is pocketing money. The most awful thing that i found in my drink was a COCKROACH! !!! I call the waitress over and all she said to me was«oh I told my boss that machine is old and needs to be replace» really?! Never again I dont know how the city of garland dont shut this place DOWN! And yet I had to pay for my drink

Don’t come here if you want wait staff that will cater to your every beck and call. Don’t come here if you want pristine surroundings for your posh brunch companions. Come here if you want GREAT food at an awesome price. Not all of the staff speaks English, but they make do if you don’t speak Spanish. We ordered their fajitas for two. The amount of food you get is INSANE and it is cooked perfectly. We ordered the guacamole(amazing again), and it had to take like 10 avocados to make the portion we got… SO much… and they didn’t put it in a bowl full of lettuce to make it look like more… I HATE when they do that. This is our, «We want a ton of grilled protein on a sizzling slab» hangout. Love this place. It looks run down, there is a pawn shop right next door(we bought a video game after dinner ;) and the overall area looks a little rough. But this is as good as it gets.

Just ate lunch there today. Food was OK, it’s dirty inside. Menu had salsa and food stains in it. Service was horrible! Our waitress never refilled drinks, she got the order wrong, had attitude. She was more interested in watching a telenovela than working. Fire her and give the job to someone that cares. I will never go back and can’t wait until they go out of buisness. One employee does make a difference… i hope the owner reads this and doesn’t care because it will make my prediction even faster. She was a tall heavyset woman with brown hair, spoke mostly Spanish and really interested in watching television by the bar. Don’t waste your money at a place that doesn’t care.

I haven’t even been to this place but I was thinking about going, that was until I saw the last reviewer …which totally changed my mind. Isn’t it odd the last person to review this restaurant has only made ONE review and tip to ONLY this restaurant and hasn’t updated and posted on anything else since before OR after? Sounds fishy and I’m taking my Mexican food lovin’, chips and salsa eating business elsewhere. Wrong move to whoever thought they could benefit from that. Plus, to add insult to injury, offend the intellect of real people of Unilocal and somehow not notice. For shame.

Authentic Mexican food. A bit hard to find one in this city. The food is homemade and quick service. Great price for the amount of food you get.

Around 20 years or so ago, the best Mexican food in a 10-mile radius lived in this building. The food was amazing and authentic, the service was attentive and the price was better than right. Plaza Del Sol is not that restaurant. Here’s the good: The salsa wasn’t so bad. Here’s the bad: Everything else. I should’ve known from the second our bowl of movie theater fake canned nacho cheese(henceforth known as FCNC) hit the table in place of the queso I ordered that this wasn’t going to be a good experience. I asked for beef fajita nachos and got chips covered in fatty not-fajita meat(to their credit it was actually beef) and smothered in FCNC. My friend asked for a beef fajita burrito that was stuffed with the same not-fajita meat(that was luckily covered in a beef sauce rather than FCNC) and was served with what ended up being passable beans and rice. The service was apathetic at best and to top it all off, I paid $ 25 pre-tip for lunch. I don’t hand out one-star reviews very often but Plaza Del Sol did everything they could to earn it. I won’t be back to see if I was too harsh. My tummy just can’t handle it.

First time coming here its kinda small and crowded, the food was ok at best I was really not impressed. They did have cool booths though they were wooden hand made and carved with different scenes from mexico. They wait staff were very friendly, but I probably will not be visiting again any time soon.

The fajitas may have been a lot of food but lacked in flavor. The service was horrible. Neither waitresses spoke English and never came to our table once… I had to track down one for the cheque por favor!!!

New menus, newly painted building and slightly higher prices are the major changes of Plaza Del Sol. I also noticed the food tasted slightly different as if they have a slightly different recipe or a totally different cook. As far as I’m concerned, it’s still an okay place to go, however, I’m not too thrilled about the color they chose… it’s like a pumpkin orange… yes, pumpkinish orange. It looks like a huge rectangular pumpkin with a naughty surprise behind door number 5. Will I go back? Yes. As often as before? depends… Could they have chosen a better color for their building? CERTAINLY!
