Get the Chili Verde. Any restaurant that knows how to treat pork is worth it, and this place does a great job. Best Chili Verde in Garner.

For the past couple of weeks I’ve been craving for Mexican food so i decided to visit el dorado. I came here Monday for a nice sit down lunch with my mom. While we waited for our food we were served chips and salsa which was very good. The food came quickly, it was mediocre. While it tasted decent it kinda reminded me of Taco Bell!!! I do suggest this restaurant if you need a quick fix of Mexican food at an extremely low price (our meal together was 10 dollars!!) however I’m pretty sure there are more tastier places than this one.

I went to lunch with my gf expecting a decent Mexican meal and came out with a terrible experience. The meat was unseasoned, the rice didn’t taste like anything and the guacamole should not even be called guacamole. I swear there wasn’t an avocado anywhere in there! It looked like dark green toothpaste. This was by far one of the worst eating experiences in RDU I’ve had to date. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemies, for food that is. In all fairness, they have outstanding drink specials. But the food is just plain disgusting.

The El Dorado had slipped in recent years but I’m happy to report that it is back to its former greatness and better than ever! Service is fast and friendly and the food is fantastic! The chimichangas are a must try. This is definitely the best Mexican place in Garner and as good as any around.

Passing through garner on our way to Raleigh we stopped at el dorado because of the great reviews from Unilocal.We were very pleased with the meal until about half way through when we found a hair on two different plates. We showed the waiter who then took them away, said nothing about it to us, he then brought our ticket, we paid for our meal and left. No explanation or sorry or anything. We will NOT return!

I haven’t been in a long time and they seemed to be under new management. Our food was hot and fresh. The service was outstanding and even the manager came around to check on tables which was surprising. Our spirits were served quickly as well. Even the kids chicken nugget platter was outstanding.
I can’t wait to come back again.

I love this place. The prices are good, and the food is plentiful. The menu is standard and provides a ton of choices. They have a great page of specials as well. Staff is very friendly and service is quick.

I love El Dorado. Specifically this location in Garner. I have tried the other locations and they are good but the Garner one is great for some reason.
The waitstaff is friendly and quick. The food is always great and I have to say you shouldn’t visit there without ordering their cheese dip as an appetizer. Cheese dip mixed with some of their salsa is like crack!
The prices are also very reasonable. Myself and my girlfriend go there once or twice a week and for the two of us to share cheese dip and each have entrees and drinks we spend around $ 17 before tip.

Pretty good for local Mexican fare. The salsa could offer more and sometimes the chips are stale. The margaritas are great and the service is great!
