Awesome food, customer service, environment, super clean to include bathrooms and the front door! You can always count on the food tasting just like you remember/imagine. Mmmmmm. Something that I must share is the attentiveness and compassion a young lady displayed towards my youngest child who fell outside. She came out to check on him, offered a bandaid and to replace his drink. Thank you that meant a lot to him and me! You are too sweet.

It’s been a long time since we’ve had Smithfield’s, it’s just as good as we remembered. The food is amazing as always, you know it’s going to be good. But the staff in this restaurant is just fantastic. Attentive, but not hovering, the tables are cleaned promptly everybody pitches in and makes sure this place it in order and everybody is pleased with their experience. I wish more restaurants(staff) would take this much pride in their work. It really makes lunch enjoyable to feel like you are valued as a customer. Thanks!

A five star rating in the category of «Chain Barbeque». Probably a 4 – 4.5 in BBQ Overall. If I need to send someone to where they’ll get a real taste of Southeastern style BBQ, I’ll send them to Smithfield’s. No, it’s not the cheapest restaurant in town. The menu prices constantly adjust, as food prices go higher. And that’s how I know that I’m continuing to get the same quality of food at Smithfield’s. Down the menu we go: BBQ Sandwich with Slaw: My all time favorite. Tell them to double up on the slaw if you want a truly excellent sandwich. BBQ: The closest you can come to real NCBBQ if you aren’t dragging a pig cooker behind your truck. Fried Chicken: Really excellent. Moist on the inside, crispy and not-so-greasy on the outside. BBQ Chicken — Grilled with a sweet, vinegar red sauce. Very good if you’re going for a non-fried option. Otherwise, stick with the fried chicken. Seafood: Decent. May I ask why you’re ordering seafood at a BBQ joint? Hushpuppies — So good, with just a hint of onion. Slaw — Hands down, the best slaw in the area. Brunswick Stew — Really a sleeper hit on the menu. Potato Salad — It’s alright. Potatoes are a little more«al dente» than I prefer. Pecan Pie — Good to better than average. Banana Pudding — A waste of money. It’s basically banana flavored jello pudding with some Nilla Wafers. Service is always good, the people at the register are polite and efficient, and the restaurant is clean. Great food in a clean restaurant. Not much more you can ask for.

Stopped in while traveling with my wife and 2 year old on a Sunday for lunch. I’m not a big fan of eastern style BBQ sauce but my wife loves it. The food was served hot and in a timely manner even with a full restaurant. Great servers all seamed very friendly and helpful. The manager was very friendly and helpful to the servers and customers. This restaurant is very kid friendly including handing out balloons and teddy Graham’s to all the children.

If you’re looking for great barbecue and a great place to eat you need to check this restaurant out. Not only is the food good, but the staff is polite and very attentive to all of your needs. Family-friendly with both of baby changing station in the mail and female restrooms. And sweet to you like my grandma use to make

When you are on your way to the beach(or the way back), then what is better than some Eastern North Carolina style BBQ? Nothing! Every time I’m back in good olé NC, I have to stop at Smithfield’s. They have fantastic BBQ as well as slaw, potato salad, hushpuppies, and banana puddin’(if you have room for it). Smithfield’s is very consistent from location to location, and I have never had a bad meal from there. The service is also excellent. We needed to warm up a bottle for our daughter, and they brought us some hot water to put the bottle in. We didn’t even ask. They just read our minds! Bottom Line: If you’re still eating your BBQ covered in a nasty tomato-based sauce, then discover a new level of flavor and get yourself down to Smithfield’s! The food is amazing and the servers are clairvoyant!

I’m not sure what happened on this trip to one my favorite restaurants but his particular SBBQ but the sandwiches on this day… watery, season-free, no vinegar and absolutely not NC-like.

Good olé down home chicken and barbecue! I am a bbq sandwich fan and Smithfield’s is the BEST! The restaurant is clean, the staff is eager to help and they serve with a smile. Two thumbs up!
