I can dig it. Indiana has come a long way with cool stores like this. So many cool and different things to try. Dried mango slices and ginger gum also wheat grass shots. I will have to treat myself on paydays.

I am so upset that Vibrations showed up in my old neighborhood after I moved to Indy. Nonetheless it’s an asset to the Lake Street vibe of shop, eat and drink. They are not only a health driven smoothie shop but they sale gluten free snacks, sandwiches and wheatgrass shots. A lot of new and different businesses don’t last in lake street but I am rooting for this one. Also if you stop by get a punch card so after 10 smoothies you get a free one.

I was very excited when I first read about a juice bar opening in Gary. So hard to believe the words juice bar and Gary could soon be said in the same sentence. Most exciting is that it is located in downtown Miller Beach within walking distance of my new residence. Vibrations had a soft opening December 18th which I didn’t attend. From the pics I saw on their Facebook page, it looked like a fun event. So fast forward to 01/12, I told myself that I had to stop by during a lunch break to check them out while also using that break to race to Crown Point for an errand and then head back to my old residence. A pretty tall order to complete all that before my next conference call. I didn’t finish on time but my visit to Vibrations was totally worth it. I loved the colorful letters outside of their building that adds a nice zest to the previously bland white exterior, which looks to have recently been repainted. Nice. I walked in and immediately saw all the various health items that they had on sale. My mission though was to get a quick Wheatgrass shot. I was greeted by Leith(I may be misspelling his name) and later Rebecca, one of the owners. Both were very cordial as I looked around and asked for my shot, which Rebecca convinced me to double up on. I had a cold so I figured what the heck. Lol. Leith gave me the full name of the business which actually is good since the word vibrations alone offers up a different connotation altogether. Wink. Wink. Rebecca offered up a paper menu and promised a jazzed up version of it coming in the near future. As a bonus, she offered me a complimentary honey stick to taste after drinking the bitter shot. That was pretty cool. And it looks like for the month of January, they’re offering various add-ons to your smoothies for free, limit one add-on. Leith, Rebecca, and I chatted about our love for the Miller Beach area of Gary. It’s really cool seeing new businesses pop up along the small downtown area as I slowly transition my life to living in Gary. There were only two other people in the store at the time of my visit, which was around 1:15 on a Tuesday. The other two parties were sitting at the bar enjoying their smoothies but I had to jet back to the Illinois burbs and pick up lunch on the way back. Thank goodness for my somewhat flexible job. Rebecca told me to see her tomorrow as I was making my way out. Not quite tomorrow but no doubt it will be very soon.
