Hardee’s

ACTUALLY LET ME BACK TRACK… MY CO WORKER BROUGHT ME CRUNCHY TACO AND TOLD ME TO TRY IT AND HOLY MOLY WAS IT FAMTASTIC!!! Sorry for the all caps but it was good!!! We don’t have these where I am from in south Florida so it’s always a treat to eat here. Very clean and surprisingly their tacos off their menu are delicious. I am looking forward to the biscuit on the morning. Super nice staff and place and bathrooms were spotless!

First of all, two guys «bathing» and brushing their teeth in the restroom. Loaded omelette biscuit was more like an egg biscuit with two cubes of ham and a slice of cheese biscuit. More biscuit and than anything else. Took forever to get it also. Dr Pepper was flat. What appeared to be employees dressed in street clothes walking around behind the counter having their way with everything and talking to customers about getting arrested, etc.

I am a big fan of Hardees Turkey Burgers and Hardees Hamburgers. But the new Natural Burger, and excuse my language sucks. I will stick with the regular burgers and fries at Hardee’s.

Personalized, friendly service welcomed me today. Unsweetened fresh iced tea, fresh lemon and a sparkling clean booth !

Ya just have to love a good Hardees (or Carl’s Jr when travelling west). They pulled out of Fort Wayne long ago, and I’ve missed them — so when a new one opened in Gas City, I’d plan in stopping in as I head to Indy on business.
First the good… this location is spotless and the food never disappoints! Fresh, hot and flavorful every time. This is one of those fast food locations where the product actually looks like it does on the menu. WOW! If you are new to Hardee’s /​Carl’s Jr, you place your order, receive your drink cup and a number — then the fresh food is delivered to your table. The systems works very, very well!
Next the iffy — Prices at Hardee’s seem to be creeping up a bit when you don’t order a promo item. Upgrade to Onion rings or a medium combo and your wallet is taking a bite too. Which leads me to one issue I’ve had with this location, and no others — the trick to upgrade you to a medium combo when you least expect it. Here’s their trick… you place your order (looking at massive menu — this is a Red Burrito location too), then you are asked «medium or large». Drink refills are free, so you say «medium». Medium is an upgrade — and you just got upgraded. When this first happened, I figured it was my mistake. So I paid attention the next couple times I stopped in — no, not my mistake… it’s a trick, you are the mark, and you just got played.
With this location being just off the Interstate and a great alternative to the more common fast food locations, they can stand on their own merit of a spotless location and well above average fast food.
One final thing that I’ve got to pass along. I stopped in just a couple days ago (⁷⁄₂) and noticed an employee taking what seemed to be a panicked smoke break in their red Impala… maybe «burning one» is the better way to put it if you get my drift. Sad part is, they appeared to be a manager /​shift manager.

Hardee’s has an interesting plethora of food and we enjoyed sampling a few on this trip. The wife loves their biscuits and gravy and I like the country fried chicken and tator rounds that comes with your breakfast. We had lunch there a couple of times and enjoyed the variety of hot, fresh sandwiches as well. 4 stars and I’ll be back…

Very clean. Good food. Business was a little slow upon arrival, but it picked up quickly and the staff was able to keep up without a hiccup.
Great location, right off of I-​69 Exit 59.
