Helluva place to get a cold drink or a hot meal. Dave is super friendly and makes a great pot of chili and damn fine grilled cheese in the winter months. Their baked potatoes are pretty damn good not to mention they have some awesome cheeseburgers and a giant tenderloin. Go in during lunch and tell Dave and Rudy hello.

This is a local bar. I need to say that about 200 times so I don’t forget it. It’s a local bar. If you looking for a great bartender, amazing wait staff, attention to detail, themes of any kind… keep driving south or north of this place. IF you are looking for a place like the TV show«Cheers,» you probably found your home at The Hideaway. Couple of important issues that you need to know: You can smoke. They only take cash. Remember, they ONLY take cash BUT if you don’t have cash, there’s an ATM machine in the corner of the bar so you can pay your bill. How convenient! First visit. Got there slightly later than the group I was with so their first round was on the table. The waitress was in a completely inappropriate shirt. I was buying the drinks for the group so I asked her to run a tab and gave her my AmEx card. She took, never said a word to me about the cash only policy. Drinks were good, 3 or 4 beer selections on tap, mixed drinks were well done. Had to ask twice for a food menu. They have the typical bar foods plus their signature Hideaway Fries(fries, taco meat, cheese, bacon, onions, sour cream. They are very good but order without the onions unless you like strong onion breath. Also the sampler platter is a good representation of the brown food group(everything deep fried). To quote one of our party, «the tator tots are the bomb!!» Music was loud and extremely eclectic! You will have to visit to understand. Live band most Saturdays. If they took credit cards, had a good waitress who was a bit more attentive to the groups, the place might deserve 3 stars. They are getting 3 stars because I live in the area. Don’t expect more than a 2-Star joint.
