When I moved to Fort Mill in 2010, I need some racing. Ive seen very few dirt track races so I was excited to check this out. Its a really great facility. The racing is almost always exciting! The support divisions are the best, providing a lot of bumping and banging. The late models are hit or miss, sometimes its«follow the leader» if the track is really smooth. The track itself went through a change around 2012 I believe and once it got worked in, its been solid. Very rare to see holes or ruts. The food is GOOD and priced well. Lines can be long though as it is popular. You can bring your own cooler and food too. Bathrooms are decent. Seats are just concrete so bring a chair or seat back. Their announcer is HILARIOUS. They do a candy drop every fri night at intermission. Most times racing is over between 11 and 12, starts right at 8. They promote a very safe facility with atleast 3 sheriffs there at all times. Plenty of parking. Special attraction races sell out so beware! Ive taken my friends family and even my boss here. Ive been to about 8 different dirt tracks now, and this is one of my favorites.

Just go! It is a blast! They still allow coolers and alcohol(BYOB), the cars are fast and loud, the track is well maintained. It is just a great evening of southern entertainment! The racing action is intense. During the last race, one if the drivers spun out and hit the wall trying to stay out of the way of the race leader. I was amazed when the announcer stated while the wrecker was heading out to get the car off the wall and back into the race, that the driver was only 12! Obviously, he instantly became me and my brothers favorite driver. Get’em started early :-)

Carolina Speedway is my favorite racetrack in the Carolina’s! I didn’t care very much that they cut the track down last year but I still enjoy watching the intense racing action on the 4⁄10 clay oval. It is very kid friendly as well. Every night they have a Kid’s Meeting where drivers and sponsors donate candy to pass out to the children in attendance. Very cool! This is one of the few tracks that I have been to that actually keeps the flow going all night long to finish at a decent hour of the evening. The track allows food and coolers to be brought in — including alcohol which some race tracks do not allow, just do not bring glass containers. They offer different types of food albeit typical«race track» food, but all the choices are tasty. And for good measure the concession stand has always had a very high state restaurant inspection score! One downside is the extreme volume level of the public address system! If they could just figure out how to lower that a few notches for the entire evening it would be a miracle!!! I try to go back as often as I can!
