I vowed not to repeat myself by picking an unknown place to eat on a road trip. So, heading home, I randomly chose this Subway. It’s .8 miles from the exit and fairly easy to find, even though it’s a ways past the first flow of eateries. It’s next door to an odd juice place I was too scared to check out. Subway seems to have advertised heavily, since their logo is on nearly half the road signs for food in North Carolina on I-85. Luckily, this Subway was looking pretty good when I walked in; they even had a cleanliness score posted on the wall of 98. There was a young lady scrubbing down the bread oven and an older lady who made my sandwich. She seemed kind of new, and peered at some cheat sheet on her side a couple times. I thought she was sweet and I appreciated her taking her time to follow the rules and make my sandwich right. The cleaning girl rang me up and asked me about getting a combo, I just wanted ice(had water in the car) and she was nice to just ring me up for the cup(25¢).
