Top BBQ place you can find. Waitress Anita was great and very helpful. Every establishment should have a waitress like her. I wish there was one of Bennett’s in NEWJERSEY

This was hands down our FAVORITE meal while visiting Gatlinburg. We walked over for dinner and were seated right away. My mom and I both got sandwiches. I got the pork sandwich on the Texas toast with beans and slaw. My mom got the catfish sandwich with fries and slaw. All sandwiches come with your choice of two of the following sides: French fries, bar-b-que beans, green beans, coleslaw, deep fried corn, spicy macaroni and cheese or potato salad. You can substitute a baked potato or a side of onion rings for one of these sides for $ 1. My dad ordered a rib plate which also came with sides. All the food was excellent. We were very happy.

These are absolutely the smallest wings I have ever seen. You cannot buy them this small in a grocery store. What a waste of money!!! So disappointing. We will never be back. I have never given anyone a one star. But Bennett’s you deserve it.

Always good food. Bennetts seems to do very well in the days of a barb b que on about every street corner. Have been going for close to 20 years now and have never been disappointed. Good food at a reasonable price.

Delicious BBQ dinner! I had the sampler with 3 meats: pulled pork, brisket, and sausage. Everything was great and service was extremely attentive and friendly. Left feeling stuffed and happy.

We are this restaurant on Christmas Eve and the ribs were okay. The sides were terrific and the service was great. Expected a little more from the ribs. I also tried the fried catfish and that was terrific !

The BBQ here is not bad at all. The beef brisket sandwiches are served Texas style sliced. The onion rings crisp and as opposed to BAD service that we got at the other place we felt more at home here. The fried cheese on the chili was excellent as a starter and the sweet tea delights. Enjoy good BBQ here!

Neither of us had BBQ, and I wouldn’t want to wade into the whole BBQ debate scene even if we had. What I can say is, this place is spotlessly clean(they were removing and washing the globes on the ceiling lights when we were there) and the staff is super– friendly. I had a WONDERFUL hamburger(made with beef brisket in the grind) and vegan hubby had salad bar and soup, along w baked potato, deep fried corn, and biscuit. The whole thing comprised the best meal he’s been able to cobble together in GBurg, which is generally not vegan friendly. Our waitress, Anita, cheered and pampered these two sore hikers on a dreary night. Prices very reasonable, beer and wine list decent, great iced tea. It’s not a romantic date destination, but it sure hit the spot for us.

This was a great choice in Gatlinburg. The food was great. We split the lunch sampler platter. The sausage, chicken and babyback ribs were soooo yummy. No extra sauce was needed. The meats were moist and flavorful as presented. We will be back. Great food, and friendly service. Being a block off of the main street of Gatlinburg, it wasn’t very busy.

This isn’t a great place for BBQ. The sauces are definitely not. good. At all. The meat was very dry, my biscuit was burnt and we didn’t get things we kept asking for, like more than one plate for the«endless» salad bar or refills on our $ 3 teas. A lot of the staff is elderly and can’t keep up(understandably so, but they shouldn’t be spread so thin). The prices are decent and come with a biscuit and two sides. The spicy Mac & cheese was decent and the potato salad was delicious(if you want coleslaw or potato salad as a side, get something different if you add the salad bar for $ 3.99 because those are up there). The sweet tea is good, the décor is very cute & southern and the restaurant is very clean, even the bathrooms. However, I don’t see us ever wanting to come back due to service and very underwhelming meat.

I love meat! I mean seriously. Bacon and BBQ pulled pork are the best thing before sliced bread was the best thing! With that being said this place was good… Not great… Not to die for… Just good. The décor and environment was very nice. The wait staff is a lot of older people which is fine except when there section is full and you need a refill.(They move slower) My meal however was pretty good. I ordered the pulled pork platter with fried corn on the cob and French fries. Corn and fries were not that good but the pork was great. Very soft and tender. So overall yeah I would come back sometime, but only when I’m not in a hurry or extremely thirsty!

My mom and i went here for dinner last night when it was raining. Didn’t know what to expect, but boy! We were pleasantly surprised. The soups were obviously made from scratch and the cabbage soup was especially fantastic. We ordered the combo and shared a plate of smoked ribs, pulled pork and brisket. The ribs were some of the best I have ever had, I would even go so far as to say THE best I have ever had. Skip the pulled pork though, it’s tasteless and mushy. I was really disapointed, but the ribs made up for it. Those ribs! They have this great smoke flavor and the meat literally falls off the bone because it is so tender. It doesn’t even need barbeque sauce. It is perfect just the way it is. Go to this place, get the ribs, and be happy. You won’t leave here unhappy or hungry. Just stay away from that pulled pork.

A+ service with great food! I was referred to Bennett’s by locals and was not let down by their BBQ. Within minutes after ordering, I was pleasantly surprised to see the waitress with my order. Bennett’s really knows how to treat starving individuals ;) The baby back ribs were delicious and the BBQ sauce was very flavorful. I was not shy about adding more sauce. The chicken was also glorious! This is probably one of the cheapest BBQ places I’ve ever had with quality food and I would definitely come back here if I am in Gatlinburg.

Texas BBQ lovers beware! We stopped at Bennett’s Pit BBQ based solely off the ratings on TripAdvisor. Bennett’s serves breakfast and receives several high ratings for their breakfast. This misleads you about the rating for their BBQ if your not reading the reviews closely. If I were a vegetarian I would rate Bennett’s a 5. Their sides were excellent. But, we didnt come here for the breakfast or the sides. We came here for BBQ! We took our place at the table ordered our picture of ice cold beer and sat with our mouths watering. We ordered brisket, sausage, and pork ribs, with the exception of the sausage the brisket and ribs were DRY. No East Texas fall off the bone ribs, No Central Texas rub in the beef, No South Texas moist BBQ beef, No West Texas Mesquite flavor. Here’s what you get: DRIEDOUT smoked meats with 4 different types of BBQ sauce sitting on every table to soak your meat in. WHAT? YES! The meat was so dry it couldn’t soak up the sauce. We just paid for our meal and left very disappointed. If you like your steak with A-1 Steak Sauce, or Heinz 57 this is the place for you.

Much like the rest of everything on the main strip on Gatlinburg, this place was mostly show. Let me first qualify that there was nothing wrong with my meal. The portions were large, the brisket wasn’t stringy, and I am a huge fan of the fried corn(and I’m not a corn on the cob person by default). The bbq was just okay, completely forgettable, which was disappointing, as I was craving Tennessee bbq. The burger tasted par for the course, despite their menu indicating that it was«the best» burger. We didn’t try the salad bar, which was a big selling point that they pushed, but the staff seemed friendly. I’d give it more 3.5 stars if they had half stars.

I can’t say enough great things about Bennett’s BBQ. We went here for dinner a few minutes ago and everything was off the chain! We started with the smoked wings and they were really nice and spicy with a little smoke reminiscent of bacon. I had Big Daddy’s Ultimate Combo and by husband had a half rack of ribs. The ribs were insanely good and we really loves the honey BBQ sauce. The pulled pork and hog legs on my plate were very good. His fries were good, but nothing special. My spicy Mac and Cheese was soooooooo delicious. The pepper jack cheese made it the best Mac and Cheese I’ve ever had. My husband and I both had the baked beans and they were absolutely amazing! We both had the salad bar. Everything was super fresh and there was a huge selection. I had a Mega Margarita and it was the best tasting margarita I’ve ever had. He had a pitcher of beer that was huge! Great deal. Our server, Craven, was very helpful. He was fast and attentive. We will definitely be back!

Being from Texas, I was hoping to see what this Memphis style BBQ was all about so we hit the local BBQ joint. What do I find? :Something they are calling«Texas» BBQ. Ummmmmm… no. I had the rib platter. Sadly, i have made better ribs in my electric stove at home. They were very average. Throw the house bbq sauce on them and they became less than average. The same can be said for the whole meal. It was just not impressive. Note: Your in Tennessee. Be proud! Serve Tennessee BBQ Don’t insult Texas BBQ… We don’t like that Smoke should be part of any bbq… just saying. The waiter was good and the atmosphere was touristy. I kinda knew what I was getting into when I say they share a building with a pizza place. Hmmmm«( Sorry…but two stars

My wife’s one request in allowing a barbecue lunch was that I select a place with a few non-barbecue options for her. Bennett’s was the best option to suit both of our appetites. Bennett’s wood-covered walls matched the general Gatlinburg ambiance perfectly, as did the antique nicknacks scattered about. They have a large soup and salad bar if you’re so inclined, but I came for meat not vegetables. Our waitress was very friendly and gave great service. She was a sweet lady and struck me as a local gal. Since we were on vacation, we indulged ourselves with an appetizer. The potato skins sounded. They come loaded with cheddar, scallions, and bacon. We also added some pulled pork for good measure. The potatoes themselves were crispy and warm, and the gooey cheese and salty bacon were a great combination. To my surprise, Bennett’s pulled pork was extremely flavorful. It had a great smoke level and was quite tender. This was a great start to the meal. I ordered the three-meat Bar-B-Que Combo lunch platter, picking brisket, ribs, and sausage for my three meats. The platter comes with two sides. Normally I get potato salad, but that seemed redundant considering our potato skins appetizer. I settled for macaroni and cheese and bar-b-que beans. When my order came out, I immediately noticed pulled pork instead of my requested sausage. Rather than taking away the pulled pork, the waitress brought out a plate of sausage and left me the pork as an amends. What a sweetheart. The beans had a good sweet flavor, but there was too much goop for my liking. They were also a little al dente. Conversely, the macaroni was a tad overcooked, but not quite mushy. At least there was more flavor here, including a touch of black pepper mixed in. I generally like to ask for a fattier cut of brisket, but this didn’t seem like the kind of place to make requests of the pitmaster. What I received was certainly a leaner cut, though still nice and tender. It also had a strip of fat down the edge which had soaked up a decent amount of smoke. The bark was seasoned well, but the seasoning pretty much stopped there. My accidental pulled pork was even better than it was atop the potato skins. It was juicy, full of flavor, and by far the smokiest of the meats. The big pieces of red and black bark here were exceptionally tasty. Just for kicks, I tried it with their«Mustard’s Last Stand» barbecue sauce. The sauce was ok, but I preferred the pork on its own. The sausage was disappointingly not homemade. It was very finely-ground, reminiscent of the grocery store. I didn’t find much seasoning, but I did find plenty of grease. As my wife said, «It tastes like a hot dog.» She nailed it perfectly. Their baby back ribs were the only one of my meats that came sauced, and it was a bright red sauce clearly full of ketchup. The crust was sweet, but not very crisp. They were pretty thick for baby back ribs. The meat was fairly tender, but had almost no smoke. Oddly enough, these ribs reminded me of the soft, tomatoey, Aussie-style barbecue I found in Scotland. Our lunch at Bennett’s satisfied my hunger, but it didn’t impress me all that much. As a Texan, it pains me to say that the best part of my meal was the part I didn’t even order: pulled pork.
