Good donuts but they are known for their cinnamon bread which is delicious.
They are CASH ONLY which is challenging for me because I don’t often participate in the cash economy (plastic rules!).
Like many places they have an ATM in the store with a $ 3 service fee. They give you a free drink worth up to $ 2 so that makes up for it some.

Stopped in for coffee and an apple pillow (delicious), and was so surprised by how nice it was. I don’t think I’ve ever had friendlier service at a shop like this. My friend wanted hot tea and knowing their teas weren’t the best, they not only suggested another nearby coffeeshop, but also even let her come back and sit with me with a drink from another store (not many places will do that). It is cash only, but if you need to use their atm, they’ll give you a $ 2 coffee drink to make up the difference for the atm. Everyone should go here and support a great local business rather than getting something from Starbucks or Dunkin.

So good! Go here while you’re in town. The cake doughnuts are amazing! The eclairs are amazing! The jelly doughnuts are amazing! See what I’m doing here? Everything is amazing. Give your taste buds a respite from all the touristy chain restaurants and get some fresh doughnuts from the Donut Friar. But don’t go when I’m there, I don’t want them selling out of my favorites before I have the chance to order them.

Wasn’t impressed at all especially after reading all of the reviews. I’ve never bought a cold glazed donut at 6 am. Ever. The rest if the donuts we bought were mediocre. Way too over priced for what we bought.

This is a must go to anyone traveling to Gatlinburg. I love the coconut donut. Only place I have ever seen one. Chocolate éclair is fantastic as well.

What a sweet treat! Nothing like an éclair and coffee to make a great day even better. My only complaint is I couldn’t try more items. Everything looked delicious. Maybe I’ll come back tomorrow.

Absolutely delicious donuts in a funky little shop in The Village of Gatlinburg. Cute and warm atmosphere with fresh donuts, what more could you ask for?

This place is top of the list to visit when we are in Gatlinburg. The delicious aroma can be smelled all the way out on the parkway. A cup of coffee and Cinnamon Twist is my favorite thing to order. My husband loves the glazed and chocolate. Anything you order will be delicious!

We stopped in around 3pm and it wasn’t too busy. Selection was limited but since it was late I wasn’t surprised. Service was fine. I had a glazed cake donut and a powdered sugar cake donut. Both were very fresh and moist but the I detected a slightly off aftertaste… could be that the oil was on the old side. Others in my group confirmed the aftertaste. One star deducted but it’s worth noting that I don’t remember this from previous visits.
I will definitly return.

Delicious donuts! After our first stop in this shop I was hooked; we went back 2 more times during our trip. The cinnamon sugar twist is my favorite, but the glazed cake donut comes in not far behind. Be sure to have cash when stopping in.

Excellent doughnuts! Probably the best homemade quality doughnuts I’ve ever had. The shop is small and welcoming. They offer good deals and beautiful handmade mugs. They only accept cash, but they have an ATM inside. They even give you $ 2 towards your purchase or a free coffee or soda when you have to pay the $ 3 ATM fee. I highly recommend this spot!

If you’re ever in Gatlingburg, you MUST make a stop here! There is usually a line here and there’s a good reason as to why there is. The donuts are so good!!! They don’t a ton of selections, but they have a good amount. My personal favorites being the original glazed, chocolate glazed, and the chocolate crueller. Another goodie is the apple pillow! The donuts are so light and fluffy and really really delicious.
A great snack and sugar pick me up ;) The place is small, and the lines move fast. But trust me it’s worth the wait!

We had the rainbow donut and while it was certainly good, I wouldn’t say it was the best donut. It is reasonably priced, however and a very neat little store.
Sample a few, maybe there are some better ones.

This is located in the Village of Gatlinburg. My bf is a donut fan and so he was super excited to try out this place during our tour of Gatlinburg. This place is tiny and only one table with 3 chairs. A line can easily form here, but it would go by quick. They have a wide selection of donuts to choose from and they all looked very fresh. It is cash only and we ordered the cinnamon cake and glazed yeast donut. We both enjoyed the cinnamon cake more so than the glazed yeast donut. We wanted to drink coffee with the donuts, but their pricing was too pricey for us.

Let me just say this about these dough knuts. WOW. if you’re ever in a rut n your life let me tell you about a place you can go to get back on the wagon of life. It’s called doughnut friar. Not only are these lil pastries fried to your every’s tooth delight, but you best find the same grin on your face as the chubby bald man that hanging from that sign above there door.
The one doughnut that stand above the all the #doughut is my main top dog the GLAZED CAKE I MEAN WOW U DONT KNOW WHO PUT THIS ‘NUT HERE COULD HAVE BEEN GOD. Tbh this a damn good doughnut, I could use another #star on this #yelp for a review that touch the heavens. Hallelujah!

Stopped here on my out of town. My parents and I had breakfast at Pancake Pantry, but I couldn’t leave town with trying donuts with such great ratings, espcially since it was so close. It is located towards the back of The Village complex. Such a cute little building. Look for the split door with the top half open. There was not a long line on a Sunday morning. Easy to decide what to get cause there is not much variety. Thumbs down on that part. I ordered a glazed donut and a cinnamon twist. As expected, the cinnamon twist made a mess as I eating and driving during my drive back to Atlanta. C’est la vie. Overall, I thought the donuts were pretty good and I preferred the cinnamon twist over the glazed.
