Best blueberry pancakes ever(except my grandma). Sometimes there can be a line but it’s worth the wait. They only take cash. I wish they took credit and debit cards but oh well. Still good food. My advice to everyone is to get there early. Great for kids. The staff was super nice and helpful.

Yum! Pancake Pantry is a fun place to go while in Gatlinburg. They have so many pancake options. I ended up going with the pecan pancakes with pecan syrup. My husband got the apple crepes. We both loved our food and will return again when in town.

Most delicious pancakes. Try the sugar and spice pancakes. They are heavenly with the cinnamon syrup.

How can you not love Pancake Pantry? I always make it a point to eat here when I am in town, and it never disappoints. I have only had the pancakes. They are so amazing that I just don’t have the motivation to eat anything else. Went with my father on this trip, and we both had the buttermilk pancakes. He also had a side of sausage. You get a lot of food! They give you five buttermilk pancakes. Two was plenty for me, but I managed to shove a third in. Syrup is brought out to your table, and it’s nice and hot. You also get a pile of butter with your order. We went shortly after they opened because I am aware of how crazy this place can get. We were seated right away. Service was fine. I’m giving it four stars because they only take cash. I think you can easily spend 10.00 a person here so if you come in with a family that can add up to a good chunk of cash that you need to have on hand.

Important: THEYONLYTAKECASH, no debit or credit cards accepted. There was a short wait, like 10 minutes, and the place was packed. The eating area and bathrooms were clean. Food came out fast, and the presentation was good. I had Banana & pineapple pancakes. Not super filling, so I was still hungry. All sides were extra, example. A side of bacon, 3 pieces, was over $ 3. Prices in a tourist town! Overall I would recommend as a place to eat breakfast. We did not try the burgers.

Best pancakes ever! I got the wild blueberry pancakes and it was so delicious. I’m more of a Belgium waffle person but I decided to get there pancakes. Best decision ever. The line wasn’t long for a Saturday morning but it was packed inside, and it was around 10 am. The down side was that we had to pay cash and not card. But they do have ATM next to the cash register. I would rather pay with card though.

Staple when we come to Gatlinburg. I always get the ham and cheese omelette which is served with 3 buttermilk pancakes. Omelette is delicious, but pretty small. Boyfriend asked if he could get chocolate chip pancakes and was perfectly willing to pay an up charge and they flat out refused. He was told he could have a side of chocolate chips for $ 1.75 but he couldn’t get them put into his pancakes! I worked in a restaurant for years and we could make just about anything on request. It was disappointing they weren’t willing to oblige a small request.

We walked into Pancake Pantry as four adults, a child, and a baby on Mother’s Day and were seated within 10 minutes in one of the most densely packed restaurants I have ever seen. My brother-in-law was very worried that the service and food were going to take forever, but we were promptly served and everything was excellent. Pros: Our server was excellent. She was 100% on the ball and so pleasant. VIENNABURGER. Although I love breakfast food, I wasn’t feeling a second breakfast meal that day so I had the Vienna burger. The«secret sauce» was amazing. I replaced the kraut for a house salad. Hubby said this was one of the best veggie burgers he’s ever had. Wasn’t too loud for being jam-packed. Large restaurant allowed for quick seating at lunch time on a holiday. Cons: It was so packed. There’s barely an entryway. The hostess asked us to wait outside until she could seat us. We also had to leave the stroller at the front by the ATM. ATM — cash only restaurant. Bathrooms are up a flight of stairs that are relatively narrow. It is hard to go up if someone is coming down. I don’t recall seeing an elevator up to the bathrooms, so if stairs are difficult or impossible for you I’m unsure if there is another option.

Best place for breakfast! Also serves lunch very good as well. Almost everything is homemade & fresh. Always a line out the door & well worth jumping in. Most pancake houses here serve alot of frozen & processed junk. This place never has. Order some of their special cucumbers! Not on the menu

I will leave you with this, PLEASETRYTHESWEETPOTATOPANCAKES. THEY’RETHEBOMB!!! Their Western Omlete was very good too. We met the owners, and they were very nice and humble. Next time your in the Gatlinburg area, come to the Pancake Pantry, I don’t know why there were mixed reviews, but this place was phenomenal!

You’re better off eating at a Speedway. 15 minutes for he waitress to come. The coffee is undrinkable. My daughter had a hair in her food. Two of the four meals were brought after the first two were finished, and the pancakes were flavorless. The $ 10 bacon and cheese omelette I had was a rectangle and flat with a slice of American cheese sliced into 3 pieces. A zero on presentation. Not apologetic even a little bit for the hair or poor service. Really atrocious for my daughter’s birthday breakfast.

Alright. This place… is amazing. We decided to go right at the peak of breakfast time. I was hangry. We arrive and there was line out the door and around the block. There was a guy handing out numbers at the very end of the line. We thought we would just give it a go as it seemed that everyone else liked it. I remember saying when walking back to the end of the line, «This better be worth it.» Several folks that heard me on the way back said, «Oh it is.» We only had to wait about 15 minutes really. They were cranking people in and out of the place so quickly! We sat down and started look at the menu which was vast considering it was primarily breakfast food… and I LOVE breakfast food. I ordered the Swiss Chocolate Pancakes with a side of bacon. Okay, first off, I didn’t know that it was going to come with 5 decent size pancakes. Wow. I’m more of a waffle fan over all but I had to try the pancakes as it is the namesake of the place. Best. Pancakes. I’ve. Ever. Had. By far. I wish I could describe it in a way to convey how awesome it was but I can’t put the words together. It was great. The bacon was perfectly crisp and not greasy at all. We went back the next day. Tried the Sweet Potato Pancakes. Amazing. If you like breakfast food, you have to try this place. Great prices and worth the wait.

This is my family’s must visit spot in Gatlinburg! We stopped in in our way home. Normally I can’t pass up the cherry crepes but I felt I should try something different. Our server recommended the cornmeal pancakes. I think I have a new favorite! Basically cornbread in pancake form. So good! Even though they are always busy, it runs like a well-oiled machine!

Delicious pancakes! I don’t really go crazy for pancakes but this place is very good. Plenty of breakfast options if you don’t want pancakes. I highly recommend you do get them though!

What a shame to have to change the review for Pancake Pantry. This is our third visit here on this trip. As always, the food is awesome. Really! From the pancakes, to the cherry waffles, the omelets and especially the hash browns. They are absolutely the best we have had, maybe anywhere. I usually order the hash browns with three eggs, over medium, sitting atop the hash browns. The result is truly the perfect breakfast. The coffee here is the best in Gatlinburg, bar none. By now you are wondering, why two stars with all the raving food reviews. It’s simple, the service here is so inconsistent. It’s like being married to Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde. On our first visit, the hostess and server were both wonderful. The waitress was especially patient with our 12-member party. On visit number two, hostess was great, server was mediocre, at best. Today on visit three this week, the host(blonde man) was borderline creepy. He was not kind to our eldest son and sat there staring at our table while we ate. The waitress was horrible as well. Completely indifferent to us. Maybe because we are a mixed couple, she was very short(not in stature) and felt compelled to stress that our children’s milk refills were not free. I understand that not saying it could be a problem, but be assured the tone denoted something other than service. This will probably be our last visit to this restaurant, which is truly a shame. I’ve recommended this place to dozens if not more friends and colleagues visiting this area. My message will surely change from this point forward.

My family used to go here every Christmas to have breakfast. The food is good, but it is nothing that you wouldn’t get at any other breakfast restaurant. The pancakes and waffles are normal, they really have no flavor to them, which to me is not something you should get in a breakfast restaurant like this. Their regular sides such as eggs, sausage and bacon are of the norm too, nothing special here. It is generally very crowded and noisy, but tries to keep that log cabin and country feel to the place. Staff are pleasant and generally very helpful.

THISPLACEHASTHEBESTHOTCHOCOLATEEVER! But otherwise I just wasn’t impressed. My omelette was really dry with very little flavor to it except when I came across some cheese. Edible, but not really delightful. The pancakes were very bland. I guess their specialties are in their different types so if I found myself here again or at another one I’d try some. Loved: — Hot Chocolate Ok: — Bacon — Hasbrowns — Western Omelette Disliked: — Buttermilk Pancakes

So I basically forced my parents to eat here, but it all worked out in the end. :-) Unlike before my usual travels, I didn’t have much time to research the food scene before coming into town. However, I kept seeing things about how the pancakes are great in Gatlinburg. Huh. Who knew. I asked the front desk of our hotel which would be the best place to go, adn they recommended Pancake Pantry. While my dad would have been cool with the free continental breakfast on our last day in town, I told them I was going regardless of their wishes. So my mom convinced him to come along. I walked in and asked how the wait worked as I knew there was a line system from reading up on the place. The host needs an attitude check for real. Perhaps you get asked the question alot. I knew Gatlinburg is a tourist town. But, hey, I am a paying customer and I have never been here before. So there was a rocky start. Especially since there really wasn’t an obvious line when we got there. I just thought it was a few people gathered outside. We ended up 3rd in line. They had not even started handing out numbers yet. But this occurred pretty soon after. They move through the line quickly and may call up others from the back earlier than you if they need a party of a certain size. There was also some free coffee to be had during the wait. Oh so many pancakes to choose from. What will I do? Dad got bacon, eggs, and regular pancakes. Plus a side of fruit(expensive little side of fruit, but it was a decent size). Mom got the eggs and regular pancakes. I ordered up sugar and spice pancakes(cause I love cinnamon) plus one egg and an order of grits. Boy that ended up being alot of food. My pancakes came with applesauce and cinnamon crème. I was hesitant about the cinnamon crème, but it was quite good. And, thankfully, the applesauce came on the side and not on the pancake. Grits needed salt(which was easy to remedy), and the egg was cooked just as asked. We all quite enjoyed the food. Service was quick(wow!) and our waitress was nice. A good choice.

The pancakes were as good as a pancake can be, so if you love them, come here. We also has eggs and sausages with were reasonably good but not great. A little bit expensive($ 15 per person) for what you get. The restaurant itself was nice, but there are too many tables too close to each other. You cannot pay with credit card and the cashier was pretty rude about it.
