The food is great. However the last time I went to the buffet they had setup I saw a lady with a spray bottle of chemicals spraying the glass above the food cleaning the top of the sneeze guard and all of the«chemical mist» was falling into the food. No joke. Also I must say if you wish to dine at wegmans your going to have to get there before the dinner hour as for some reason they decide to start cleaning up and breaking it down, I’ve seen as early as 6:30pm. And if you want chicken wings or anything of that nature you may as well call ahead and just order them togo as they almost never have them made out on the buffet. They might have 6 or less(maybe) but that’s it. If wegmans is what your craving I would suggest hitting up one of the larger ones in Henrietta or rochester.

I ventured out to visit my sister this weekend, and I decided to help her with the grocery shopping. Apparently shopping with an infant in tow can be pretty difficult. I was a little surprised by how small this store felt. It was quite crowded on a Saturday afternoon, and made for plentiful apologies. The quality of the produce was generally good, and I was able to find all the staples I typically buy at my preferred location. So who can complain!

This Wegmans reminds me of the old Canandaigua store. It’s not the modernized flagship store like those being built in VA and MD, but the layout isn’t all that different. Always good for a clean and reasonable shopping experience. Glad I stopped in and glad to be greeted with a smile at the checkout.

I love Wegmans. Great food served in house. I only wish that my delicious encrusted tilapia could be served hot w/o me heating it in the microwave.

The first time coming here, I fell in love!!! They have a great selection of produce, very fresh and nice looking produce! The selection of hot food is also very good. they have a very fresh salad bar section, a Chinese food section, soup selection, and other types of fresh food. The sushi is as good as sushi from a restaurant. I ordered a freshly made roll. rainbow with cream cheese. He made it right away for me. It was very pretty as well as tasty. The second time I came in, the sushi chef remembered me, and remembered which roll i ordered, and made it for me again! very pleased with this. The selection of specialty cheese is extraordinaire! there is a cheese specialist there at the cheese station. He was VERY knowledgeable of all the cheeses, and gave us samples of a variety of Swiss cheeses. They have a very impressive olive bar selection. as well as a cold case selection. very reasonably priced as well. The meat and seafood section is very reasonable and very high quality! They have the CLP sale that is always going on, and it is very convenient, and very reasonably priced. They have a very nice selection of bulk items. We bought this stuff that is similar to sesame seed bars, which had sunflower seeds, peanuts, sesame seeds and other kinds of nuts, and it was absolutely delish! Their organic foods section is very impressive. The pizza is fresh and DELICIOUS!!! my favorite that I had during my stay in NY. The prices at this grocery store are VERY resonable, and everything is high in quality! They always have a lot of cashiers open, so the lines are never long. The ONLY complaint i have, is that there isn’t a Wegmans in California where I live! =[

This is a really good supermarket. In addition to the normal grocera areas, which are well stocked and spacious, they have an excellent natural and organic foods section. It has a lot of the things you can only find at Whole Foods or heath food stores. In addition, they have a nice prepared foods area with fresh food and pre made foods. I enjoyed shopping here while on business travel nearby.

There are two kinds of people in the world: those who love Wegmans and those who are completely unfamiliar with Wegmans. Those in the former category have no need for this review. For those in the latter category: Wegmans is a fantastic grocery store. Their selection and atmosphere are unparalleled everywhere I’ve been. First, the selection. Wegmans has a huge selection of good-looking produce; freshly-baked bread, rolls, bagels, muffins, cookies, and cakes; an entire line of coffees, as well as a coffee bar inside the store; a huge organic section; a full complement of dry foods, frozen foods, deli, and dairy; a «Mediterranean» bar and a huge variety of cheeses; especially-big selections of Latin American, Asian, and Italian foods; and a wide selection of beer encompassing American and European macro– and microbrews. Of especial note is the prepared food selection. Wegmans offers pizza, subs, and an Asian/Indian buffet in the store, and a cooler case full of meals to grab and go. One of the things I like best is that you can buy a meal appropriate to any level of culinary skill or preparation time: you can buy«from scratch» ingredients, or you can buy just-heat-it-up meals, but you can also buy ingredients that have been partly prepared for you, like marinated chicken or cleaned-and-cut produce. This wouldn’t be too unique except for Wegmans’ extensive offerings of recipes, samples, and friendly advice. As hagiographic as this review has been so far, I haven’t mentioned anything that you can’t find in a sufficiently upscale and well-stocked grocery store. What sets Wegmans apart is the friendliness of the people working there. With rare exception, everyone from the manager on down is pleasant and will go out of their way to help you, either to find something in the store or to offer advice on how to prepare a certain ingredient. More so than even the great food selection, the appeal of Wegmans is your ability to walk into the store, find a meal idea, buy the stuff, and get tips on how to cook it, all within a context that just feels homey.

What can I say about Wegmans that people don’t know? It is, hands-down, the BEST grocery store in the country. I live in Boston now and I miss Wegmans probably more than I miss my parents. I currently have a Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Star Market, Stop & Shop, and Shaws within a 2-mile radius of my house, and I am absolutley giddy over the prospect that a Wegmans might be opening over 40 minutes away from where I live, in Westwood, Massachusetts. Let me list some of the Wegmans products and features that are unrivaled by any store in Boston: — Peaches — Our Best Tuna — Store bought sushi — Italian Classics pasta — Subs — Sweet & Spicy wings — All Wegmans canned and frozen vegetables — Brian Shetterly — WPOP — Gelato — Wegmans Ultimate Coffee Adventure — Bathrooms — Bob Gayhart — Bulk candy and nuts — Baked goods — Cheap contact solution — $ 4.99 rotisserie chickens — Chris Briffa — Store layout — The babes — Tiramisu — Parking — Pharmacy — Deli — Meat counter — Produce — Lack of lines — Corn! Now, here’s what the grocery stores in Massachusetts do better than Wegmans in Geneseo: — Fish No, I take that back. Wegmans has better fish than all of the grocery stores in Massachusetts. Wegmans wins by a landslide.
