I do not recommend Bertlings ATA Blackbelt or Victory Martial Arts, what ever it may be this year! Seems like the name is always changing and I am beginning to wonder if its to run from all the negative reviews! When our son signed up they wanted an automatic debit with drawl form signed. We noticed that it was also a 2 year agreement. When we asked Mrs. Bertling about the 2 yr agreement and let her know we would not want to do this if we were locked in to a contract. She assured me that they would not lock us in to a contract if my son decided it wasn’t for him. Well, I’m sure you know how the story goes… We have tried to cancel our automatic draft several times, including phone calls, emails, voice messages and we still are paying for something my son hasn’t used since last MAY! In my opinion these people are crooks! We have talked to to Mr. Bertling and he refuses to believe that his wife told us this so refused to stop withdrawing the funds from our bank. He has been very rude and accused me of calling his wife a liar. At this point we have had our bank stop payment and have now gotten our lawyer involved. Do not go to this place! They will find a way to cheat you out of your money! They have not even been instructing my son for a year, yet still fill obligated to $ 125 a month? Come on! And by all means NEVERSIGN A CONTRACT with them.

Beware of three year contracts!

The people here are very nice. They do their job and do it well, the down fall is the prices and the contract. When you agree to the«free» trial, you have to pay a ridiculous amount of money for the uniform, then sign a 6 month contract after that. They don’t tell you all of the other fees that will be included in your training and the over priced things you will have to pay for like weapons and belts. I would recommend looking for a cheaper place to learn this if you don’t plan on making a lifetime out of it.
