This was the worst dickeys I’ve ever been to. We love going to dickey in every city we can while traveling. We stopped at this one expecting the usual niceness plus amenities. My mom wants to order a potato and we get a «sorry Mamn’ we are out» my dad wants sausage on his sandwich and we get«sorry sir we are out, we got hit pretty hard today» after we get our food my dad asks for mayo and we get another«sorry we’re out» then at the end of our meal I want ice-cream(I’m a fat kid and that’s my fav part) and I get a «oh the machines off we are out of Ice cream» we paid 40 $ for this meal that frankly was half ass. It was a major disappointment. Especially since every other dickeys we’ve went to was nice. If your going to offer half of what you usually do, we def shouldn’t be paying for things you don’t. It’s your job as a store and franchise to look good and keep up the positive experiences. That restaurant needs a face lift! Would not recommend.

Tried Dickey’s in Georgetown for lunch on Sunday. Staff was friendly. Food was good. Brisket was moist and tender, jalapeño beans were okay but a little saltier than I like, and the cole slaw was alright. I would have liked a little larger portion size though.

Really poor. Went there at 5 pm on Sunday and there were only 2 employees working and one acted like he was on break. Ordered a two meat plate and a brisket plate. Both were way too much fatty. My sides, onion tanglers and fried okra needed to be cooked but after 15 minutes they were no show. Had to ask the break taking employee to check. Result was they were inedible. Ice cream machine was out of preparation. Napkin dispensers empty. Ice tea dispenser empty. Only 2 other customers were present. Too bad. We used to go to another Dickeys in Rowlett years ago and it was great. Won’t be back to this one.

Thought I would try tonight… Walked in and ordered a rack of ribs(they only had 1⁄3 of a rack at 6:30pm. Um… Ok…no biggy. Then I look over to see the employee unwrapping the ribs from PLASTIC, YESPLASTIC!!! I politely ask if they put hot meat in plastic, she reply«YES, it’s heat resistance». I asked«do you have any meat that is NOT wrapped in plastic?» She replied«No». I asked if it was BPA free, she had a confused look… BPA? Even if it was BPA free it’s still plastic! Unacceptable, I cancelled my order! Will never ever eat here until they stop wrapping hot food in plastic! Free Chemicals? No thanks!!! :(

Stopped in tonight, first visit to the Georgetown location and it was every bit as good as the one i’ve been to in Austin. The jalapeño beans were piping hot and the bbq sandwich was delicious. Good job.

Overpriced, small quantity and who serves ONE small«roll» with a two meat plate? Then charges a buck and a half for two more? And please, is there a pickle and onion shortage?

I’ve been there 3 times and it’s the worst BBQ I’ve ever had! No matter what meat I ordered, it was always dry… except for the links. The brisket was dry with no taste. The ribs had very little taste. The macaroni and cheese was a disappointment, basically this place is a waste of money. I will never go to another Dickey’s for as long as I live. If it came right down to it, I’d eat a slug before I eat there again.

OK, I am pretty partial to the Dickey’s organization, I’ll admit. I had them as a client in Las Cruces, and put them on the air a few times, and they always treated me great. I also loved their food. So whenever I see a Dickey’s BBQ Pit, I do get a warm fuzzy. So, conveniently, in my new digs in G-Town, it just so happens that there’s one a scant 2 blocks from Casa Shoehead. How convenient! Not just a Golden Radius, but I’d call that in the Platinum Radius! So, I stopped in a few weeks ago during weekday lunch, and walked out. The line was too long, and I was on a tight schedule. But, I stopped in yesterday, a pleasant Saturday afternoon, and it was virtually empty. The staff was very genial, and helpful. I ordered the brisket sandwich, which on the Saturday Special came with two sides and a drink for $ 8.99 The sandwich was tender and tasty, and a pretty good size. I opted for mac & cheese, and their«potato casserole», which was basically mashed potatoes with pieces of skin left in. All-in-all, the meal was good. A few minor dings – there was no big pickle jar, with self-serve all-you-can-eat pickles! Wha??? And the trademark free little ice cream soft-serve was empty! *gasp* Not one, but TWO Dickey’s signatures were absent. Sorry, that cost a star. On the plus side, I was told by staff that they have karaōke on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and it gets pretty busy. Those familiar with Georgetown nightlife(or lack thereof) can attest – something to do on a weekend, that stays open late, is a rarity. So, with the location and my fondness for the Big yello Cup people, I’ll be back to this nice little eatery. And karaōke? I’m sensing a UYE. Let’s see who’ll venture to G-Town to Karaōke at a Dickey’s. It may be a UYE-of-one, but I’m considering…

With so many BBQ places in the area, you can do much better than Dickeys. We ordered the picnic pack. The brisket was terrible. It looked like a collection of scraps from leftovers. The meat was sitting in a large puddle of grease. No sauce nor condiments were included in the pack. It wasn’t until we arrived home that we discovered this. On the plus side, the coleslaw was fine. There are many other options nearby. Any one of those is a better choice.

Upon learning that the the«Big Barbecue Sandwich» wasn’t even a half-pound, I decided to just order a half pounds of moist/fatty brisket on my first visit yesterday. The cutter started cutting from the lean side and had no idea what I was talking about when I tried to direct her to the moist side. «So you want a lot of the fat?» So I ended up with a plate of lean with a lot of fat trimmings for my half pound. Ok, I’ll try the lean. Flavor was lacking, no pink smoke ring that I could see anywhere. Texture was overly firm. Sauce didn’t help. They get a star for being sanitary at least.

I found the food to be dry and not very tasty. Will not be going there again.

Thought we would try out the new BBQ here in Georgetown — -Dickies. Stopped in this afternoon for some take home brisket. Bought one pound for the the wife and myself and had it for dinner along with some of their beans and some of our homemade coleslaw. First of all I don’t even think it was brisket — more like an ordinary roast beef. Very tough and fatty, no flavor to speak of — -I wonder if it has even been in a smoker. It wasn’t even cut like brisket. I can’t emphasize how tough it was — practically unchewable — I ate a few pieces of it just because I was hungry and my wife ate a few bites and gave the rest if hers to our dogs. Still have lots left overs for the dogs tomorrow. Looks like we will have to continue to drive on down the road to Rudy’s for our brisket. That is all of our experience with Dickie — other menu items may be fine but we will never no for sure because we aren’t going back.

We like the Dickie’s in Dallas, and are delighted that there is now a Dickie’s BBQ in Georgetown. We went on a Friday for lunch. The service was prompt and cheerful. I had a chopped beef brisket sandwich with cole slaw and potato salad. Husband had the«special» which was pulled pork with two sides. He chose beans and cole slaw. Everything was good, fresh and tasty. Also we both enjoyed the complimentary ice cream dessert. We’ll definitely be going back.

Brisket was great and I like the variety of sauces! Restrooms and dinning room were clean and staff was attentive.

Truly, the food doesn’t even deserve a single star. Baked beans taste like Campbell’s with a little bbq sauce tossed in. Slaw. . OK. Brisket almost too salty to eat — also extremely dry. Sausage — meh. .. Smoked turkey had zero smoky taste. Ribs OK, but very, very fatty. I go with fast-food BBQ as the best description. Dickey’s bbq unacceptable in central Texas where there are GREAT bbq places. Also, very pricey for poor quality food. Keep driving to The Pit on Williams.
