Very good. Served hot and fast. I ordered a chorizo and eggs with cheese and a sausage and eggs with cheese. Both very good and tasty! I’ll be back.

I’m really only giving it the one star for the excellent fresh salsa. My barbacoa taco was dried out and literally had unattached white chunks of fat sitting in the meat. It was the worst I’ve ever eaten. The carne guisada looked like dog food and was too salty and mushy to contemplate eating. This place was recommended by my friends. The Hispanic clientele looked like they had some great looking food. So why did I get the doggies dinner?

It’s ok, not bad. Georgetown is overloaded with Mexican restaurants, this is better than most. The good: iced tea, rice and beans, tortillas. The ingredients seems fresh including their guacamole, vegetables, etc. I tried a tamale, it comes covered in a sauce and cheese. I liked it more than I thought I would. Not so good: salsa is very bland, pretty much just tomato chunks. The gordita was kinda hard and dry. I asked if they had any spicy salsa options, they offered me a bottle of Louisiana hot sauce. I likely won’t be coming back.

We stumbled across this place by coincidence and we were pleasantly surprised. Plato Mexicano was very good. Their prices are very reasonable and our service was good too. The place is a dive but that’s the best place to find good Tex-Mex!

BRINGCASHORSPENDMORETHAN $ 10TOUSE A CARD!!! I love me some barbacoa tacos with cilantro and onion! However the tacos I got here a week ago weren’t even good. All 4 tacos were 60% onions, 20% cilantro and 20% meat. I love onions but not when more than half the taco is made up of it! Good thing this was just a one time visit while I was in the area, couldn’t stand living near a place that serves improper proportions.

We’ve been wanting to try this place based on other Unilocal reviews and today we now got checked this off our list and won’t be back. As others have said have cash if you plan on getting under $ 10 worth of food, which wasn’t really a big deal for me I just ordered an extra taco. The outside order window isn’t that bad except I waited almost 30 min for some nothing special breakfast tacos I can get at the gas station by my house. The tortillas arnt home made which is a deal braker for us most of the time. The chorizo and egg tacos seemed like it lacked much chorizo and I had to take 3 bites of a bacon egg and cheese taco before I got a bite of bacon, they had the smallest little bacon bit pieces in it. Don’t waste your time with this place for breakfast tacos.

This place was horrible! It was dark and dirty in there. As soon as we walked in the first thing we saw was two waitresses preparing salsa on one of the tables. We decided to give it a try and went to use the restroom and saw the cook go in there and didn’t wash his hands! After that we just walked out. That place should be closed down!

Love this place! Hole in the wall, tiny, small staff, AMAZING food! Always busy, so on occasion, it may take longer for the busy staff to take care of you, but it’s not too bad, and totally worth it. Missing two things: alcohol, and horchata! Love the fresh salsa, and the fajitas, carne asada, and pollo Mexicano are wonderful. Well-priced, and large menu, as well as large servings.

Yummy authentic Mexican food. Try the Carne Guisada. It melts in your mouth.

Food was actually better than expected but based on the incredibly unfriendly service I would never eat there again nor recommend to anyone else. Food would be a 3.5 star but service would be in the negative star.

I’m not afraid of a dive — let’s be honest, that is exactly what this place is — so when we pulled up the run down look of the building did not deter me. We drove up to Georgetown to get our Texas DLs and wanted to grab a bite to eat after. We were in the mood for Mexican and the Unilocaler nation told us to go here. The husband ordered carne asada and I got the enchiladas. Both dishes were really good. Positives: Good Food, Super Cheap, Super Fast. Downside, make sure you have cash or be prepared to pay the fee for the ATM outside. Their sign says no credit for orders under $ 10 but they told us the machine was completely broken so even though our order was nearly $ 20 we had to get cash. Also, no bar which means no margaritas. I was sans kid and had just left the TXDPS so a margarita was called for. Bummer.

This is an absolute ATX staple for me, having moved here only 6 months ago I frequent this Mexican diner so often they know me quite well. At this point all I do is walk in, tell them the number of tacos I want, and they have my chorizo tacos fired up on the flattop grill and are putting them in a To Go bag. It’s pretty incredible.

This place was awesome! The other taqueria we usually go to, was closed. So we decided to drive up Austin Ave, to find another one, as we are from the Waco area, and were only passing through Georgetown. We pulled in, parking lot full, usually a good sign. The eating area inside is small, but it filled quickly. Salsa was excellent, as well as everything that followed. Very satisfied! This one, is added to our«Out of town favs»! Just a note about us… we are foodies! We are NOT easy to please!

Love their food. Great red enchilada sauce. I have a good palette but I can’t put my finger on what is in it. Maybe a good chili powder? Whatever it is, it is addictive! It is a small restaurant in a small, old building(think Mexican food dive) and on a couple of occasions we’ve been told they are out of guacamole. But the flip side is as a small restaurant if you go a couple of times they will know you and you will know them. They always take GREAT care of my family.

Love this place! My boyfriend and I eat here all the time. It is definitely our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. Their breakfast tacos are the BEST!

I can only speak to the breakfast tacos. My husband and I have lived in central Texas for 5 years now, and many other parts of Texas at that. El Charrito has some of the best breakfast tacos I have ever had! We have tried many different ones and love them all! Barbacoa and chili verde are some of our favorites as well as the chorizo and egg! Do yourself a favor and try this place out!

My dad was craving Mexican food and I was just in desperate need of food after spending six hours on the lake. We made the short drive to Georgetown and ordered food to go from this place. My dad ordered the mixed fajita plate for one, I ordered the beef fajita plate for my husband and I got the Chicken Enchiladas Suizas. We placed our order and they said it would be 10 – 15 minutes. A random note there’s a park about 1 block from this place called the Blue Hole. Since we brought my dog Samuel we walked around a little bit over there while we waited for our food. I had set my time for 15 minutes so that we could head back to get our order. A few minutes before our timer went off my dad headed back to pick up our food. The guy at the counter was quick and courteous. The servings are very, very generous and the food was tasty. Overall great experience. Quick service to go and great food. I wouldn’t mind going back to this place again.

Nice, Clean and Friendly. But the food fell a little short for us. I will start with the High Light for me… The chicken Tortilla Soup was Superb. Broth didn’t leave you lips feeling coated. They use chicken thigh meat(BIG Plus for me) Avocado was cold and fresh, tender carrots and potatoes… Good Stuff. Chips were old, and out of a bag. Salsa tasted fresh and the Queso was plane, with little spice at all. Wanting to try something different I went for a Gordita with beef. Which turned out to be fajita meat. The guac, cheese and all the fixins tasted great, Sadly the beef was Tooth Pickin Tuff. Rice was good as far as rice goes. Wife had the Enchiladas(beef) which was steamed. No Color, little flavor and made the tortillas soggy. Both agreed the sauce(which we always get on the side) was DeLish… In short just wasn’t our spin, but we only tried a couple menu items.
