I’ve always liked walking through cemeteries. I find them peaceful and beautiful. This cemetery was no exception. It’s not a large cemetery. It took about 20 minutes to walk around the entire area. However, it’s not the smallest cemetery I’ve visited. Several tulips were in bloom. There are lots of trees. There are several benches throughout the cemetery. The driving lanes are very narrow. It’s difficult for two cars to pass each other, but the paths are nice for walking. They have a special section of the cemetery called Babyland. That was sad. There were lots of balloons and flowers. One of the more interesting graves is one of Tent Girl(Barbara Hackmann Taylor), a young girl who was murdered in the 1960s. Her body was found along US25. It took 30 years to identify her with DNA testing. She was the subject of a 48 Hours special. The headstone features a police sketch and description. There are many very old tombstones dating back to the 1800s as well as several new ones.
