We came to Market Days just to look around and ended up scarfing some candied nuts, we also had some samples of sweet and some hot stuff at Mikey V’s place on the square(bought some sweet habanero hot sauce, peppery jerky, a daytripper coffee mug, etc), bought a birdhouse made of Texas license plates with the Dallas Cowboys on them, and a pillow that automatically vibrates when you lean back on it(great for a sore back) …I didn’t even know I needed one of these but it somehow made it into the back of my car… finished off with a pound of the best coffee on the planet, Celebes Kallossi from Cianfrani’s…along with a couple of stellar coffee drinks… may be time for a well-deserved nap… zzzzzz…we had a fun time. We figured all the brick and mortar businesses on the square would be inundated by the crowds and we were pleasantly surprised by being able to walk in and be waited on immediately in two different places.

Market Day held on the Georgetown Square the 2nd Saturday of each month March — November. Usually hours are 10 – 5, but sometimes during the super hot months the hours are 9 – 4. Many great vendors come to this market including plants, arts & crafts, doggie treats, handcrafted jewelry, direct sales and others. Of course there is a pretty good selection of carnival-type food including kennel corn and shaved ice. There is also a train ride for the kiddos. Overall, this is a nice market. Vendors set up on both 7th and 8th Streets by the Courthouse, so make sure you don’t miss anyone.
