Great gift shop in downtown Georgetown that we visit every time we visit my parents. They have a few standard lines that they keep in stock, but also bring in new items every few months. Everything is great quality, they offer free gift-wrapping, and they know quite a bit about each artisan they feature in the shop. They have everything from classic pottery and wood gift ware to quirky kitschy bead work. There really is a wide selection to suit many different tastes. This is a perfect place to stop for a unique gift. Some of their items are very reasonably priced, while others are almost laughable when you look at the price tag so don’t be discouraged if the first thing you pick up seems outrageously expensive.

The Escape is my favorite place in Georgetown, TX. I come visit when I can for I live quite far. I must say their selection of items are unique. Love their jewelry! I think that their pricing is competitive. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The items I bought were wrapped as instructed. Just realized that I left one earring(one I was wearing) in the store and they sent it via UPS to my home. Awesome service! Thank You!

Hrm… well…kinda torn on how to write this review. From the exterior, when you peek in, it’s bright, colorful, and attractive. It’s impossible to resist walking by without actually going inside to check out its wares. The items inside are lovely, fun, and quirky, but as soon as you look at the pricetag, your heart plummets. Fun to explore and to peruse — maybe one day I’ll purchase some kind of trinket or décor for the home. Regardless of the prices, some of the items are pretty cool and its aesthetic highly dependent on the eye of the beholder. The reason I gave this three stars though is the fact that the two women staffing the counter didn’t even bother greeting us both when we entered and left — which I found highly uncharacteristic of the many establishments on Georgetown Square. As a resident I took offense since I am very proud of the local businesses in this square. I guess I expected more than a perfunctory dismissive glance from them. :\

A little too quirky for me. I enjoy/appreciate/patronize local businesses and artesian boutiques. However this boutique doesn’t really offer classic quality artistic items, it’s all about quirky artistic items that are made for a very specific kind of quirky art collector or individual who wants an abnormal modern homemade item. In addition, all the items I looked at(handbags, jewelry, décor accessories) were WAY overpriced. I know this store has good reviews, but I’m honestly not sure why. You will be greeted with southern hospitality but in my opinion that’s the only thing good about this store. So sorry, but it’s only two stars from me.

Love this shop for the gift recipient who has EVERYTHING. They have objet d’art for men and women. They also have a small, but nice assortment of Judaica for those Jewish friends on your list. I am also a huge fan of their home fragrances. Yes, everything in this shop is very pricey, but get on their mailing list and get a discount coupon a couple times of year and this will ease the blow. They also ship and have an online store. I have used these amenities several times.

This is such a great place to find gifts — especially for that one person who’s hard to buy for! I love browsing the shelves and looking at the unique, often hand-made, items they carry. Because they work directly with artists, there’s always something new. This also results in some high-end pricing when it comes to some of the things they carry. That being said, you can easily find something in any price range. The ladies who work here are always super friendly and welcoming. Stop in next time you’re on the square!

This place makes Christmas shopping SOOOOO easy. All those people on your list who like funky stuff or have everything or you just want to find something different? You can get it here. Amongst the treasures I’ve gotten at this place are: Jewelry. Jewelry boxes. Scented oil lamps. Windchimes. Cut glass plant waterers. Cat food and water bowls. Ties. Kaleidoscope. Puzzle boxes. All at the same place. And they’ll wrap for you, which saves me a ton on scotch tape and wrapping paper.
