This winery is located on the historical square in Georgetown Texas. They said they have a vineyard in Rockdale, Texas which after searching the website they do have pictures of the vineyard. They are offering over 25+ wines on the menu that is all made locally. We did 2 rounds of tastings at $ 10 each and you get to choose 4 wines per tasting. We enjoyed all the wines and ended up signing up for the wine club to receive all the benefits and discounts. What is really impressive is that they are priced moderately and not trying to make a retirement of 1 bottle as they do in the Texas Hill country. We also tried the olive oils and balsamics that they offer and also make locally. We really liked the spicy mango balsamic and the Jalapeño olive oil. The staff here was amazing and super friendly which it reminds you a small town Texas feel. I would recommend trying this winery as it is top notch for Texas wines.

Great wine. Tastings for $ 10 per person. Loved ALL the amazing wines. We tried Peach(our favorite), Sangria, Pomegranate, Cranberry, Merlot, Banana/Pineapple(not a fan) and our other favorite Chocolate Raspberry… That was sooo good… Tasted JUST like chocolate AND raspberry… Wish it wasn’t $ 30 a bottle! But I can see why… Took a bottle of Peach home. Georgetown Winery is a cute little homey place and we sat out front in the little table area. Everyone was really nice there. Wish it had a nice outdoor patio area but the great wines made up for it :)

I have heard from Dan, the owner. He informed me that none of their vinegars come in screw top bottles. He is correct. I was comparing his product to another vinegar I had purchased at a different store. That said, my balsamic vinegar I purchased from him is still a light colored oil and not a balsamic vinegar(I checked it again.) He has offered to replace it. I will update with the exchange. Giving him a star back for trying to make it right.

Wow! I get that but obviously your Unilocal etiquette mirrors your employees customer relations etiquette, so I will keep this 1 star review.

According to the guidelines for reviewing I must provide an update. It is a new experience I have had with personal interactions, and it is factual, as my first review was. The comment by the owner was sent to me in a message as well as made public. I replied to that in a private message stating I never received a contract, just his word that he would be there. The subsequent response I received from this owner was that«we obviously had a misunderstanding» and that he had in fact canceled an event in the last 5 years. Hmm, contradictory from the initial response. Either way, I wanted to just let this go but alas, when I tried to reply to provide him with further explanation as well as others who attended the event in question I had been blocked by him so I felt it necessary to share more about my additional personal experience. I was considering stopping in here based on the response I received, but after this, as well as reading how the owner has responded to others on Unilocal that is out. The owner may be «legally correct» regarding some of his other responses here, but man, there are better ways to handle these situations, especially in public. You give off a really bad impression, and it is very consistently negative. There are better ways to handle customer service issues.

We had just got done eating at Eats on 8th(totally recommend) and thought we would walk around and wander the little shops. All the shops were very nice and the employees welcoming. We were planning on doing a wine tasting at another location when we saw Georgetown Winery. We decided just to go in and do the tasting. It’s $ 10 for 4 samples. We had a group of 4 so we all got different ones so we could sample more. Most wines were mediocre and tasted like a wine cooler, but there was a couple of good ones. The store is cute and I loved the wine accessories and household decorations. The reason for rating them low was because of one employee. She was a young blonde named Chelsea(I made sure to ask the nice employee with long black hair for that girls name so I could call out her terrible service). From the time we walked in she made eye contacted and turned her back. We sat at the table, read that on Saturday’s we had to do the tasting at the counter. She came to our table and stated«what do you want?» We said we were there to do the tastings and she stated we had to go to the counter and mid sentence walked away. The other nice employee came over to check on us since we were still reading the menu and was extremely polite and informative. We went to the counter and unfortunately Chelsea was the one helping us. We said thank you, but never responded back or acknowledge any of us with eye contact. We went and sat back down and proceeded to watch this horrible employee look people up and down with distain. I was really in awe of how many people she could give dirty looks to or ignore their thank you’s. After we finished our samples we thought about buying a few glasses of wine to play a drinking game. We would drink anytime Chelsea rolled her eyes, looked a customer up and down with disgust, ignore someone. I did end up buying a 3 bottles of cranberry wine for Thanksgiving, 2 other kinds for friends and some accessories and luckily the older blonde lady assisted me and was friendly towards my business. I would suggest the manager/owner get this gal some customer service skills or maybe keep her in the back cleaning the toilets. It would be a fitting job for her crappy personality.

I went there after eating pizza with a to go cup of beer, and was looking to buy two adorable wineglasses, but before I could make my purchase I was kicked out for having a cup of beer… meanwhile people were meandering in the store with glasses of wine. So at the end of the day they my money then and forever. Update: did not know that, however your reply was extremely rude. 1 star stands.

Can you give zero stars? Wow worst customer service I have experienced. 1st time I stopped in I chalked it up to, oh they were about to close. 2nd time, I had not been inside yet, was just enjoying wine outside and went to use the bathroom when I was stopped by one of the servers who proceeded to tell me that their restroom was not a public restroom. It wasn’t polite. I was a little taken back on how upset the server was that I used a restroom that there was not a line for. Wow… Just wow… I would not expect this from a small town local business, especially two times Ina row.

Georgetown winery is a great local spot for wine tasting or to just buy some tasty wine! They also offer a wide variety of olive oil. We shipped several bottles up north around Christmas and everything arrived on time. I highly recommend trying funky monkey! They also have live music on Fridays. Come check out this nice local spot in downtown Georgetown and don’t forget to ask about the wine club. Happy sipping.

A cute tasting room and retail store located in the heart of beautiful historic Georgetown square. This place was packed on Saturday when my friend and I stumbled across this place, and they even had a live musician. This place is located in a intimate and charming small narrow area, which is amazingly full off clever and unique wine accessories and gifts. They also had fresh balsamic and olive oil to sample and taste. Georgetown Winery is family run and they have a 3 – 5 acre vineyard located in Rockdale, Texas. They source grapes from Texas and California for their wines. The family grape growing tradition actually dates back to when their ancestors arrived in Texas in the late 1800’s from Czechoslovakia. You can do a tasting, or purchase wine by the glass or bottle. They have a large menu of wines to select from for the tasting, which can be a bit overwhelming. They have a vast selection of white’s, red’s, fruit infused wines, and dessert port style wines. The red’s were definitely their strongest point, but I found from the one’s I tasted that they were a bit too full of flavor, and the oak overpowered the grapes in the end. The Pinot Noir was definitely the stand out for me here. The chocolate cherry port was good, but just a bit too syrupy thick sweet(and I am a huge lover of port style drinks). The prices are definitely reasonable when compared to other Texas wineries, mostly in the $ 16 – 18 range. The staff were very friendly, and even provided free small water bottles during the tasting. They also have a few small snack items to purchase to enjoy with your wine. I can definitely see myself coming back here to pick up some unique wine related gifts as presents for friends who have everything in the future.

Not a bad little winery to stop into. The jalepeno wine was very interesting to the point I wasn’t sure if I liked it. The bartender was friendly and very helpful, he gave me directions to a nearby bluebonnet field. Would probably visit again since you can’t beat the price to try some different wines!

While walking the square in Georgetown on a shopping and relaxing day with a friend, we popped into Georgetown Winery to see what was up. She was driving, so I was sampling the wines — which I love to do. They had a lot of fruity wines and some awesome looking ports — so I decided to go ahead and pay for a tasting. $ 10 for a flight of 4 tastings, with a limit of one dessert wine was a bit steep, but alright. Blackberry: Sweet and wonderful, I really liked this one. Not as good as other blackberry wines that I’ve had but still pretty good. Tempranillo: No spice to this one. The whole reason I like a Tempranillo is the great after taste zing you get. It just wasn’t in theirs. Funky Monkey: Loved this one, bought a bottle. Pineapple/Banana? Yes please! Smells like banana, huge pineapple taste on the palate. Jubilee Reserve Chocolate Cherry Port: Too sweet, not enough cherry punch for me. It was good, but I’ve had better. The lady doing the tasting was very nice and incredibly personable, easy to chat with and I really liked that. She was a little busy at first but apologized and we got through the tasting fairly quickly. As I said, I bought a bottle of the Funky Monkey — it wasn’t too badly priced, around $ 15 I believe. Not bad at all. The only thing about this place that I really wasn’t fond of was the high cost tasting with only 4 in the flight. It just is too steep. I’d love to go back and do another tasting, but honestly, I’m really not sure if I want to pay another $ 10 to not even crack ten tastes on their long list of available wines. It just doesn’t make sense! Four stars… wish I could give five.

The people who own this store need to learn how to treat people. We went there for their wine tasting and the store only has one large table at which to sit and do the tasting. We had our two adult children with us. The owners were very nice until we got to the last tasting and they asked what we’d like to purchase. When it was clear that we weren’t going to buy any of their wine, they practically removed us physically from the chairs. NEWSFLASH: You aren’t the only winery around and had you not done that, we would have returned at a later date and perhaps made a purchase. Not now. We will never return to this little hole in the wall.

Quaint tasting room right on Georgetown’s Town Square. Really friendly staff and affordable wines and other miscellaneous related items. Not as typically over-priced in a boutique type setting. All wines are made from Texas grapes; harvested throughout the state. No concentrates. Tastings are $ 10 for 4, including 1 desert(their ports) wine if you’d like. Take the souvenir glass with you for an extra $ 2. [Note: Someone else mentioned something about $ 5 tastings at a certain time; they no longer have a $ 5 tasting] GW had the standard selections of sweet, dry, red, white. The Chardonnays(both oaked and«un-oaked») were OK. The Sangiovese had a nice smooth finish. Pretty much what you would expect for Texas wines — which have improved so much in the last 5 years. I like fine wines BUT, I could not resist sampling a few of the«Fruit» wines they offered. How could I not try Funky Monkey(banana and pineapple favors), Jalapeño Wine(just how it sounds with funky green color), and the Sweet Raspberry Chipotle(aka Schitz & Giggles; definitely taste the raspberry with a hint of smokiness). Lastly, the Portejas tawny port. If you like ports you might want to give this one a try. And for only $ 15 a bottle(OMGosh!) I had to take one home! Cheers!

My son had us stop here, he’s a wine lover, he bought a glass of something that was very nice… gave me a short class on the best way to enjoy wine… take at least 3 sips… it did taste a little different each time I sipped it… interesting!

Went here a couple of weeks ago and we both did the wine tasting for $ 5 per person. Bought the Primitivo and it is really a wonderful full-bodied wine. Have had it with Italian food and pizza and it goes really well. I’m sure it would go well with steak too! Sampled two dessert wines: Both the chocolate cherry and the chocolate raspberry ports were delicious. They are like having dessert because they are sweet but really yummy.

Very very cute and affordable. This place has a definite small town feel! We did the samples and we’re no wine experts, but we did like almost every wine we tried. More than anything it was a nice relaxed way to spend a Friday night and do something a little different. They have lots of cute, unique things in the gift store… which is actually just the small entrance to the place but it was nice to peruse for a couple minutes. They also had live music which was cute and just added to the small town, small venue feel. I think I would definitely go again.

Young men, pay attention: If you are in a new relationship and your new girlfriend likes wine, you need to take her here. Check their hours first because I believe they are only open lateR on Friday and Saturday nights. Wines are very good(try the Vino Rosso, Cab Franc or the Sangiovese) and affordable so you can even purchase a bottle to take away with you. Cheese plate is also a nice touch and is a good value — it’s under $ 10 and comes with 2 cheeses, pepperoni and garlic toasts. It’s on the square in downtown Georgetown between 2 gift shops… I don’t think it could be any frickin’ cuter. They also have a wine club that is $ 50 per quarter and you get their new releases before they are sold in the store. I’m a big fan of this place and it helps to get to know the owners. They have recently renovated the place and they no longer make wine in the actual shop.(So if you haven’t been there in a while, you should go back and give it another try.)
