This is an outdated property. Desperate need for facelift, upgrade and repairs. Unstaffed, degrading property. Possible restricted funded. Crying for help. The immediate area is being developed. New midrange completion. LAQ rates are compatible to new properties. Rooms not ready for typical 3:00 checkin. Caution its only a place to sleep. Catch up to new chain hotels could be challenging.

Room was mostly clean. Shower curtain and shower where not as clean as they should be. Bathroom light would intermittently stop working. Breakfast was decent. Not the worst, but not even close to the best.

This place isn’t the nicest or most modern place in the world, but it totally gives you what you need to sleep comfortably. The reason I gave this place 5 stars is the Night front desk guy Mike Perdue. He is the most hospitable and knowledgable service person I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. Outside of some really big names in the hotel business, I don’t get service or attention like this in america… ever. Mike, best of luck to you sir.

We spoke with Amber at the check in desk when we arrived and she was very rude to us; she interrupted us when we were trying to speak with her, she was short spoken and highly irritable. While we had arrived early she was in no way accommodating toward us. And as we walked out she very loudly said to the man with her«next time you’re translating», despite the fact that my boyfriend speaks fluent English with an accent. It was terribly rude and honestly down right degrading to make a comment like that to someone. I would not suggest staying here simply because of the poor customer service.

The room I got in this hotel was not clean. Bathroom was yucky. There was dust everywhere. The lights by the bed did not work. The bed covers had stains. The room was freezing and when I changed thermostat from 65 up to 69, the smell that came out of the blower smelled terrible.

I saw a couple of mediocre reviews on Unilocal, but I decided to try it anyway since it was close to where I wanted to go. I have had a great experience here. The room is nice, and the service from the folks at the front desk has been wonderful. All in all, this has been a fine stay. I highly recommend it. By the way, there are a couple of great restaurants within easy walking distance. Ask for extra coffee, if you’re a big coffee drinker, and they’ll give you more than you can carry out of the office.

BEWARE! DON’T STOPHERE! We practically always stay at La Quinta across the country, because we build rewards points with them. Unfortunately the service at this La Quinta was particularly terrible. We received a rude arrival from John when the web site messed up our reservation for an apartment suite and gave us a king bed with a fridge. We explained how the website mixed it up and were told that it’s all they had. Being that my son is 12 he will not sleep in our bed with us and they do not have a roll away we decided that it would be better to find another Hotel that could accommodate our family. We found one down the road 800 feet and ONLY at that point John decided to check and see if they had another room. In other words he expected us to just take it before that. On top of that we are only staying one night, but house keeping wakes us up at 8:00 am!!! Don’t they know we haven’t checked out?!? WTF. We yelled no thanks 3 times and she came in any way. It’s 6:30 our normal time. Then to top it all off she came back at 10:00 am for«Housekeeping». Then at 11:20, she came back yet again! Check out is at 12:00, are we in her damn way. I don’t understand how this place can do this to a patron. I feel completely Harrassed! I am so pissed right now. Why do this to anyone? Websites mess up and make things difficult, but the service shouldn’t be terrible. Putting our family through this extra stress is ridiculous. We are currently PSCing from CA with a six month old, 12, year old and one on the way and it’s 2 days before Christmas. We have been driving for 10 hours today and showing up to this Hotel could have made our night, but it was a total fail. We will NEVER stay here again and not recommend it to others. The owners should keep there staff in check and train them better. Maybe try to remember the patron is a human being and you’re here to accommodate them. Not treat them like they’re in your way!

We had to stay in this LQ for two nights when air conditioning went out at house over the weekend. Other reviews are correct on location and age of the property. What really separates this LQ from the others is the staff. Everyone that we dealt with either on the phone or in person went above and beyond. Especially Melissa. Would rather stay at this property vs a new one just because of staff.

Nothing fancy, but the room was fairly clean and spacious with plenty of counter space in the bathroom. Breakfast was included and was the usual fare — waffles, toast, bagels, hard boiled eggs, yogurt. However, overall noise level seemed higher than at most hotels I’ve stayed at, so you might want to avoid this one if you are a light sleeper. Hotel is conveniently located right off the highway and rooms overlook a mortuary, parking lot and highway. The mortuary wasn’t a problem(at least their guests are fairly quiet), but there was a significant amount of highway noise as well as slamming car doors and car alarms throughout the night. Call me paranoid, but overall there was something that made me question the safety of the location. Mind you, I’ve been robbed at a hotel before so I might be a little overly cautious(thank you San Antonio Super 8), but I was glad that I wasn’t traveling alone and was thankful that I could see my car from the room.

I, unlike Vincenzo, was not scared of some sort of zombie apocalypse upon seeing the funeral home next door to the hotel. This is a nice hotel for the money. Approx $ 70 for a room with 2 double beds. The room was clean and all the staff members I encountered were friendly. Check in was quick and easy and they offer online reservations from the Unilocal site. Breakfast during the week is offered from 6 – 9 and has what I would expect from free breakfast. They do have Texas shaped waffles, which are somehow irresistible. The only reason I’m not giving a full 5 star rating are for the few little things that got me. The room was clean when we entered, but there were no liners in the trash can. This could be new policy to stay green. I really don’t know. Also, while they offer soap and shampoo, there is not a bottle of conditioner to be found. The lampshades were obviously dusty in the room. Pretty easy fix to give a much better feel to the room. Finally, when we arrived, the pool/spa was down for repair. This would have been a handy note to convey on the phone when I called in my reservation. So to recap: yes they are next to a funeral home, but I saw not one person rise from the dead to try and get a room here. Good value for the room. Only slight annoyances to detract from the otherwise great experience. I do understand that a 4 star La Quinta seems wrong, but I’m comparing it to similar caliber hotels, not something like the Driskill.

I don’t like the location but as for La Quinta, they are trying to keep it up. It needs to be upgraded but what I do like. The staff, they are very friendly.

This hotel/motel is right next to a funeral home. Who is responsible for choosing such locations for a corporation in the business of hospitality and traveler accommodation? How comforting is it to have a view of a funeral home when traveling… You can check in anytime but you might not leave.

This was a really nice La Quinta. The room was very clean, the two people I interacted with at the front desk were super friendly and the parking was great. There was even room for a few large trucks(moving trucks) and an RV to park in the back and that didn’t interfere with parking for everyone else. Wifi was super fast!
