I was there once, very impolite and angry people, they do not care about service, terrible food, stuff are not friendly, they were so mean. Never go back there and highly recommended to not go if u do not want to waste your money.

Ordered take out the other night. The lady who answered the phone was so friendly. The food arrives before the 40 minute window I was given and it was delicious!

We have been here several times, both in person and delivery orders. The food is good, and it is fine at the restaurant location, but we have had several poor experiences with delivery orders: food packages opened in transit, sauces missing, two hours late, and most recently – ordered online, strangely did not show up for an hour and a half. We called, and apparently there was some confusion with their technology/ordering company – The woman on the phone cancelled our order, and did not even apologize, let alone offer any sort of compensation for our hungry evening(she offered to let us make another order, but we declined).

Busy tone during prime business hours? Really?!? I guess they don’t need any more business…

Come on people in the kitchen of Café Hong Kong! It’s just not acceptable to serve meat that is so bland and dry as hell! Like it was days old! Yuck! Will never go back there again…

The service here is excellent. They all are very nice. We’ve been there twice, both for hotpot buffet. The meat is fresh and the size is big.

I wasn’t pleased with the Shrimp w/Cashew Nuts because the sauce was SO watered down. I also ordered Shrimp Toast which I tossed in the trash because it had a soar tang to it and I did not want to get sick. The customer service at front was good, but I will not be returning.

very average. forgot to order the rice as fried; had to ask for tea;[no cold tea]; just hot; triple delight had 3 whole shrimp whoo hooooo!!! count ‘em 3, but they tasted bad. when I asked for doggy bag; they did not include the white rice. this used to be a decent place. doubt I’ll go back and no zombie drink. The worse is, they now carry the phones on a belt clip; as they may be speaking to you the phone awful tone rings for an order. ladies, please keep the orders at the front desk. empty; no atmosphere.

Food: B Service: A Environment: Quiet and friendly I went here with a group of friends on a Friday night. I was surprised to see how dead it was inside but that didn’t take away from the service or food. The buffet of meat and vegetables is served by a waitress while the buffet of sauces is self serve. The sauce selection is plentiful and they had all my favorites. Our group ordered multiple plates of meat and vegetables. My favorite was the spicy beef, black mushroom, and watercrest. My friends enjoyed fatty beef and variety of vegetables. One friend ordered chicken and it was tough after boiling. Pass the chicken and go for beef. The staff was incredibly friendly and even let us try to «turn off» the flame on our hotpots. They joked with us and made our night comfortable. I will definitely be returning.

We ordered shrimp, chicken and cashew nuts, egg rolls and shrimp in garlic sauce. All of our dishes were really good. The fried rice is some of the best we’ve had anywhere. On the back of the menus are coupons that entitle customers to free items depending on how much you buy. We were entitled to some freebees, but we didn’t notice until we got home(and it was way too cold to go back out that night). So it is up to you to be diligent in redeeming your freebees. The person taking the order was a bit impatient: tapping her fingers and hovering over us and we tried to decide what to order. Not a fan of being rushed. Maybe we’ll have our order delivered next time.

Seriously love this place! The food is sooooo delicious and the price is reasonable. As a professional foodie, I have to say that their food is very tasty. They serve Americanized Chinese food and the traditional Chinese food. The service is also good. I actually talked to one the owners one day, she is very nice and friendly. I’ll definitely come back again!

We ordered takeout from here. Eh, it was ok. We picked this place, because it’s closer to our house than our usual Chinese food spot and we thought it would be fast and easy. Well, it was kinda fast, but not so easy. Of course they staple the bag with, what seems like, an industrial strength stapler. So, we didn’t check the food until we got home. First, we couldn’t find the chicken wings! Little did we know, they were the itty bitty teeny tiny little wing-dings stuffed in that little white box that usually has the rice in it. After a mild panic and the blame game, we found them. Sat down to eat again… then realized the 5 spring rolls we ordered weren’t in there! *sigh* I call them. They ask that I come back. When I arrive, I get my 5 spring rolls… plus one extra roll, for my troubles. Just one. *sigh again* Really? Anywho, the food wasn’t terrible. Just the back-and-forth experience. I recommend that you check your bag before you leave, especially if you have a large order. Seems like a place that would be better dining in.

I went here for dinner last night with my mom and brother. It was pretty empty and by the time we left there was no one but us and the stuff. We walk in, and the decorations are really nice. There are red lanterns on the ceiling, there is a TV with the booth seats. Some of the tables have a built in hot plate for the hot pots. There is tables with the hot plate in the middle and there are booths with individual hot plates. In the back there is a buffet counter of add ins for the hot pots, and across from that is the sauce buffet line. My family decided to share the soup together and split the hot pot into the spicy soup and the seafood soup. Since all the booths were taken, the had us sitting at a round table, but it did not have a hotplate so they gave up the whole hot pot cooker set up. First time my brother said after we sat down was, «Where are our spoons? How can we eat the soup without spoons?» Big strike one in my mind. My brother went through the list and asked what we wanted it. We selected and gave the paper back to the waitress. My mom went to get satay and some other sauces for herself, and three bowls and soup ladles. I went to get my brother and I some satay and soy sauce. The soup came out right away with about a quarter of add ins that we requested. I wish there was clear noodles, since those are my favorites. But everything was good. I would like the shrimp to have been de-shelled before they were given to us and the egg noodles did not taste like spaghetti noodles. I really enjoyed their dumplings, they were huge but delicious. I personally loved the spicy soup, I found it to be better than the seafood soup. To me, it was more flavorful. The only downside to it was that it left a weird feeling on my tongue, like a tingling. I am not sure if it was because of the fact that I am impatient and shovel steaming hot food into my mouth. Since there was no one on our side, my family really enjoyed themselves. There was a gentleman sitting at the table diagonally cross from us, and he kept looking at our table or my the television behind me. I am not 100% sure. But I am sure that I was über creeped out by it. I did not enjoy myself as much as I could. Next time my family comes here, I would like to try the individual soup hot pots, and asking for all the cabbage.

Their Schezuan beef noodle soup — HANDMADENOODLES!!! — is amazing!!! I love everything about this dish, from the amount of beef and the tenderness of the beef, to the«QQ”-ness of the homemade noodles, and to the deliciousness of the broth.

Came here before and the food was so-so, but now the restaurant is under new ownership. According to the new owner they couldn’t change the name because the restaurant is actually a franchise and there are legal hurdles to go through to change the name. But now, this is basically a new restaurant with different food than the one before it. They now serve Szechuan style food with an all you can eat hot pot option. We got the all you can eat hot pot for 19.95 per person and chendu cold noodles(sweet sour spicy) as a side dish. The noodles were fantastic. Noodle texture was perfect and the sauce was spicy and properly flavored in terms of being not too salty or bland. The portion in the noodles was also very large — as a dinner portion should be. As for the hot pot, the ingredient list is plentiful. Ingredients range from the standard tofu and fish balls to fatty pork intestine, lamb, fatty beef, luncheon meat, potato noodles, water cress, to scallops, and more. All the favorites we usually eat at home. The broths can be configured for savory, spicy, or both with a partition in the middle of the pot. We got the split pot to try both soup flavors. I thought the savory would be bland as I usually prefer spicy, but it actually had good flavor. The waiter/waitress came by frequently to take empty plates and ask if we would like extra ingredients — they serve the ingredients from a buffet type stand at the back, which I like because this prevents other patrons from messing up or wasting the food. All in all I feel like 20 or so dollars is pretty worth it here since eating hotpot at home is not that cheap considering the variety of ingredients one needs to purchase, and you get the benefit of not having to clean up when you eat out. The service was good and the food was tasty. Hope they can continue this trend as I will be back to try their Szechuan dishes next time.

4 ½ stars. Ok, so I went twice within one week. The dishes we ordered were very good. There are new owners and the one I met, Wendy, was very polite and friendly. The service was good. Portions were very fair and prices were decent. See photos… beef chow foon, sliced chicken, ginger, and scallions in pot, chicken and sweet corn soup, kung pow fried tofu, assorted meats with seafoose and fried tofu in pot. All dishes were delicious! Finally, they will be doing Chinese hot pot sometime in May, I definitely will be going there when I’m back in town. Thwye are also going to be adding some Szechuan dishes to the menu. Can’t wait to return to Germantown!

I ordered takeout from here last night. It’s a nice spot to dine in; perhaps another night. I got Singapore noodles which were pretty good & my hubby got general tso chicken. We got their chicken wings as well. The entire meal was good. The Singapore noodles were spicy, just the way I like it and not oily like some places do it which was a major plus! The general tso was very flavorful. The wings were very flavorful but very small which made me upset for getting them. Most people do the whole wing and thigh. They cut them in half to profit more. I wish they were bigger. Overall dinner was pretty good and this will be our new go to spot.

In the Germantown area there are a lot of good Chinese places(and some really bad ones too), so it is important to correctly categorize them. If you are looking for really high quality authentic Chinese food this may not be the right choice for you. However, if you are looking for an Americanized Chinese take out place you are looking at your new favorite restaurant. Hong Kong Café has a similar set up to a Panda Express except it is superior in every way. You get to pick 4 items off a huge spread of rice, noodles, dumplings, and a ton of Chinese entrees(my favorite is the orange shrimp). They load you up with a ton of food for 6.75 that all tastes deliciously greasy. The service is swift and courtesy and the restaurant has lots of room for big tables. This is not the best Chinese I have had but it may be if I take into account quantity and price.
