Kicks Karate

Of I could give 0 stars I would. This particular branch is completely unprofessional. I wanted to sign up my kids at the school. I don’t do anything blind so I observed the school a couple of time during different hours. The first time I heard two of the instructors rudely talking about a parent or student. They were too busy talking angrily about her that they did not even notice that I was waiting by the door. Another time I walked in I saw Mr Brown hitting on a mother very openly. I know this to not be his wife /​gf because as this was happening his employees were inside the office where I was waiting talking about how «he has a thing for Asians». That is beyond rude and unprofessional. The final time I went in no one was in the office and as I heard a class in the back room I walked in to hear the instructor being very very rude to an adult student. She had to keep asking if she was doing it right because he was not paying attention at all. No one else was in the room until Mr Brown came out from yet another back room to talk to me. I cannot believe they allow this kind of behavior.
I will definitely take my business elsewhere or sign up my kids for football instead.

Your money is better spent elsewhere. They make it seem like your child will learn actual karate at first-​just sign the contract and see that you will be paying for your kid to play games. Additionally, they only care about the $ to move the kids on to the next belt, not form or technique — so the belts don’t mean diddly squat!
If you want your child to learn disciplined martial arts just find another place.

I could not say enough good things about Kicks Karate. The kids I watch started off at BMI and just did not enjoy the school. Their parents heard about Kicks from a friend and enrolled them there. They love it. They can’t wait for classes and they love the staff. Everyone is friendly knowledgable and kind. The three full time staff Mr. Brown Mr. Misha and Mr. AJ are just wonderful. I saw a review before complaining about price but their parents say it was a very fair price for how much they teach the kids. Do your children a favor and enroll them at Kicks Karate!

I started my 5 year old daughter here about two months ago and we have been going regularly twice a week. My daughter absolutely loves the Little Ninjas class. The instructors are fantastic. They are well qualified which is comforting. They are also incredibly patient and amazing with the kids. My daughter has never been a difficult child but I also definitely see a difference in her confidence and attitude after going here for the past few weeks. Mr Misha is the instructor for the Little Ninjas class and he has been wonderful. My daughter absolutely loves him and always quotes him at home. :) «Mr Misha says ‘First Time Listening’!» I’m really glad we started there and to me this is going to be a permanent place for us.

Never sign your child up for a 9 month contract! Way overpriced, plus you’re obligated to pay every time there’s a belt test and you have to purchase all kind of things such as sparring gear which was over $ 100. This is not a real martial arts school, they just give out belts like nothing. After talking to other parents, I realize I could have found a much better deal at other schools with better teachers rather than have teenagers as instructors.

Kicks Karate in Germantown is fantastic. Master Brown runs a very tight ship. We started classes here year and a half ago when my oldest son became a Little Ninja. He is now in the older children’s classes, my youngest son is a Little Ninja, and I have begun taking adult classes. The instructors are very professional and respectful, and they push every student to his or her complete potential. Studying karate was never on my personal radar, but after watching the confidence it has given my sons and the discipline and fitness training it has given me, I would encourage every family to try it out.

Place and instructors are great.

I love doing kickboxing here! It is fun and it is a great price. The instructors are very nice and it is a very friendly non-​judgmental place. You feel energized and refreshed after an hour here. I do recommend it and they always have great deals on groupon or in coupon magazines. I suggest trying it out if you are looking to get fit and get rid of stress.
