I spent one year in a 3rd floor apartment here. The apartments themselves are very ordinary. Very few appliances broke and when they did it usually took a week or so for it to get addressed. The real issue is the neighborhood. My husband and I have peaked from our window and watched three separate neighbors get arrested and these were not quiet arrests. They were kicking and screaming spouse beating messes. Also, the neighborhood has no dog restrictions, which we liked since we have a well behaved medium sized dog. However, other neighbors have large, intimidating breeds and several of the neighbors let their dogs out without a leash or supervision. Aside from these dogs being aggressive, this is also a problem because they leave droppings everywhere and it’s never cleaned up. During the spring and summer we couldn’t believe the way that flies congregated EVERYWHERE. It was gross and we couldn’t leave our windows open. Also, it was embarrassing to have friends out on the balcony because the fly problem was so awful. The pool was nice for sunning but it does not have lap lanes, so it is only really useful for the neighborhood kids. Parents often drop off their kids at the pool all day unsupervised and management doesn’t seem to mind. Overall, since the places are nothing special and the community is so undesirable, there almost certainly is a better place to live in Germantown.
