They did great work on my bridesmaid dress, had to take it in 2 inches and needed a good hem because I’m so fricken short. They were also very fast with the work. But only gets 4 stars because when I got to the wedding I found a safety pin left in the back and two pins inside on the front. If they were angled just a little differently then I would’ve been poked by them, I’m taking it back to get all of them removed (I couldn’t figure out how to get to them). Who knows, there could be more.

I began using Germantown Cleaners after my former cleaners closed shop in 2012. I have been very impressed with the clothing I’ve given to them to be cleaned. I’ve had all types of fabric: denim, silk, linen; and fancy buttons, complicated pleats, and multi-​pocketed clothing cleaned by Germantown Cleaners and never had a complaint. The owner is a delight, very polite and courteous. I’m glad happenstance directed me to them. I’m a very happy customer.

I bought a bathing suit top that needed the straps taken in. Also, there was some pretty intricate designs with the additional straps in the back of the suit that needed to be tightened also. I went to 3 other alteration stores and no one would/​could make the alterations. Shawn at Germantown Cleaners easily accepted the challenge. He took his time tacking where each strap needed to be altered. He also ensured me that it would be ready in the time that I needed it completed. Since it was a custom alteration, it was a little bit more pricey than their regular prices, but well worth it. I appreciate his willingness to help when no one else would!

I brought my boyfriend’s shirt in to be cleaned in June — it was a white tuxedo shirt which he wore once. When I picked it up right before a wedding, I noticed a very large black grease mark on the sleeve cuff. I expressed my concern and the owner said the machine must have done it. He was willing to clean it again. I picked it up the second time and the mark was still there. The owner expressed that he didn’t know if it would come out but would clean it again. When I went the third time to pick it up, the mark was mostly gone, however, a few black dots still remained. The woman working there (I had never seen her before) said they would try again. I went there today to pick it up for the FOURTH time, and the dots were still there. The owner was very rude and said that it was the best that they could do, that they tried three times. He showed me that you wouldn’t be able to see the mark when the cuff was folded over! I expressed that this was unacceptable. He said it was good work and walked away. I will NEVER return to this business again.
