Damn you, Taco Bar II! Your scrumptious Mexican cuisine, hidden inside that Washingtonian Express, made me rethink the whole concept of gas station food. So I found a similar concept tucked inside the Sunoco on Frederick Road. Lebanese food, cooked to order, while you wait. Feeling adventurous, I tried the manouche(cheese pie with zataar) and falafel. A Spanish lady was cooking and she seemed somewhat distracted. But nonetheless, I got home and took two bites of each. What. The. Hell. I am intimately familiar with Middle Eastern/Mediterranean food. I have also tasted dog food during my more adventurous toddler years. The falafel, overcooked and crumbly, with no seasoning, tends to lean towards the canine category of food. And why was there lettuce inside it? No. No. No. Serving this crap to people back home would probably get you kidnapped and ransomed for some decent food. The manouche was not terrible as the falafel but it was clearly burned around the edges, by the distracted Spanish lady. 0⁄2 I also noticed no new reviews for this place since 2012. And based on previous reviews, you may think they still serve edible food here. Or maybe Señorita Burn Everything was having an off day. If my experience is common, then they have allowed their standards to slip to the point where their food could be considered… gas station food. I hate you, Taco Bar, for raising the bar so high! Disclaimer: I still love you, Taco Bar, and I will be back for your delicious tortas and lenguas tacos!

Good find if you happen to be in the neighborhood. The place focuses on catering, and the shop in Sunoco is cheap rent for the kitchen and staff. It’s Lebanese food made-to-order, so it’ll take ~10 minutes to prepare. They have 2 tables nearby, but it seems most people get to-go orders. The food is comparable in taste and quality to what you would find at a moderately priced restaurant. Will go back again if in the area.

Who knew you could find good fast food in gas stations? First the Taco Bar near Rio and now The Mediterranean Corner. These places really make me wonder why anyone would go to a chain fast food place(you know who they are!). Husband stopped at the Sunoco gas station in Milestone and noticed signs in their convenience store window for platters, wings, fries, falafel, Shawarma, etc. I was a doubter but was hungry so we decided to give it a try. We ordered a Falafel Sandwich and a Chicken Shawarma Sandwich. Both came on pita bread with lettuce, tomato, pickles and sauce as optional toppings. They fried the falafel up fresh, the chicken was already cooked but was still tender chunks of white meat. There are no seats but we wanted it to carry-out for home anyway, so no problem. When we got home and I unwrapped my sandwich all doubts were put to rest – warm soft pita, creamy sauce, tasty combo of pickles, lettuce and sauce. They also have platters, breakfast sandwiches, cheese pies, meat pies, pizza, and wings. Gas station fast food – who knew?

After my discovery of the Taco Bar(via Unilocal) located in a gaithersburg gas station, i was excited to find this new pop-up. This place is in the Milestone shopping center inside the Sunoco gas station right off of 355. Filling portions, messy platters and a veriety of choices give this place some pomise. But something is missing. For quick Mediterranean food, i expected it to be TOO overseasoned but it was actually a bit bland and could use more flavor The plus is the amout of variety you get with just 1 platter… shawarma, falafel, baba ganoush, hummus etcc. It’s still new so ill def give it another lunch run because this place has a lot of potential.
