I love this shopping mall! It’s the only mall I go to. Hope they put a restaurant here soon! Love that J Crew & Anthropologie are so close.

The one store I like is the Apple store. Part of Saddle Creek is under renovation. They are adding new stores. This is something that needed to be done. I am looking forward to seeing new stores.

I have liked Saddle Creek for years. Ever since Sharper Image. Those were the good olé days. The difference between this and most malls is that this shopping experience has kept its value. I do abhor the Apple Store and all pieces of evil for which it stands. But other than that money trap, the stores are well-kept and well-staffed.

Another open air mall. Smaller than Carriage Crossing, with a few stores you won’t find anywhere else in the area. Major drawbacks are interior parking, so shoppers have to worry about traffic while crossing to other blocks of stores and it is split into three sections separated by a major intersection, so if the store you want is in another section you have to get back in the car. I will go back, but only if I need something from one of those unique stores, and I definitely won’t bring the kids.

I’ve got to be honest with you, I was not real impressed with Saddle Creek. I grew up in the area, and these shops have been here for long time. There has been some turnover and remodeling, but not much has changed. There are some more high-end stores(Apple, Brooks Brothers, J Crew), but the fun of being there pretty much stops there. There are a couple of problems with the shopping center. First, it’s divided into several sections, and it’s not always readily apparent in which section the shop you want to go to is located. The sections are separated by a large intersection between two busy roads, which makes it pretty much unwalkable between them. Moreover, the time when I went it happened to be a weekend near the holidays, and it was extremely, unpleasantly busy. There was not adequate parking for the number of people shopping there, and the people were parked in fire lanes. I saw a number of near altercations in the parking lot. Honestly, my trip here wasn’t really worth it and I wouldn’t go back.

Saddle Creek is an open air mall located off Poplar Ave in Germantown. It was the first open air mall in the area and features many specialty stores that you can’t find anywhere else. I go here to shop at stores you can’t find anywhere else in the city. My new favorite is Anthropologie. It’s a new addition and the first one in the city. It’s my favorite all time place to shop for clothes, accessories, special occasion dresses and house hold items. Stores that you can’t find anywhere else include the Apple Store, J Crew, Lucky, Wish and Coach. Specialty stores unique to the area include Francesca’s, Indigo, and Lola. they also have your standard Gap, Banana Republic, Loft, and White House Black Market. Why go here vs other malls in the city? If you like the classic shops(Gap, Banana Republic) and some specialty stores and enjoy outdoor malls this is the place to shop. It’s definitely safe and there is a great mix of stores and is smaller than Carriage Crossing. The only drawback is it is outdoor and not the place to stroll around on a rainy, super hot or cold day.
