To summarize, terrible experience, do not stay at this hotel. We pre-booked and pre-paid for a room over two nights via a travel site. We checked in and was assigned a smoking room. We went back and said there must be a mistake since we asked for non-smoking. The immediate reply of the owner was«No sir, you asked for smoking» and«Prove it» [that we requested non-smoking]. She also said things like«You have pre-paid and won’t get your money», «If I can’t change you what are you going to do about it» and«The code says smoking room». For someone working in hospitality I was shocked at the defensive and argumentative approach. She did end up switching the room, reluctantly, after we showed her the check in paperwork requesting non-smoking. NOTE: If you pick a room in this hotel via a travel site we have discovered the DESCRIPTION is to blame. A non-smoking room will have that in the description. If it doesn’t have«no smoking» in it you have to assume it’s smoking. They promote a «continental breakfast… that is served at the intimate ambiance of the breakfast room». The«breakfast room» is in the front office. Breakfast is served on a 3′ x 2′ shelf and simply consists of coffee, orange juice, bagels(plain and poppy seed) and muffins. Bagels were fresh and packaged butter was available. In the strictest sense of «continental breakfast» I suppose this is not misleading but I would expect tea, fruit and dry cereal as part of the breakfast for the price we paid. We also had to ask about the breakfast since we weren’t told any details at check in. Wi-Fi only worked half the time. We ended up staying 2 nights over a weekend. Checked in Friday around 5PM. Wi-Fi worked fine that night. Saturday morning at 7AM when we awoke it wouldn’t connect and didn’t until we left Sunday around 7:30AM. I mentioned it to the front desk Saturday night and was told«it must be the weather». It was a beautiful day and only had heavy rain Saturday afternoon for an hour or two. Using windows network diagnostics I believe they only had to restart the wireless router. I should mention we also had to hunt for the login information in the room, it wasn’t provided at check in. The room was dirty. Next to one of the two beds we found a partially eaten, mummified milky way bar. There was a stain on the comforter covering the bed and the blanket used between the comforter and bed sheets also had a stain of some kind. The only positive thing is the location. It’s minutes from downtown historical Gettysburg and the Gettysburg national park(the reason for our trip).

Clean, reasonable accomodations. Perfect if you plan on being out of your room more than in your room, which is easy to do in Gettysburg. Owner was pleasant; comp. breakfast was bagels, pastries.
