Oh how the mighty have fallen. After intially praising pizza maker Louie another trip to LI Pizza proved that things ain’t like they used to be. 1. The place is way too small. 2. The pizza sucked. It was served cold. We sent it back and it was returned hot but there is no excuse for this to happen. Inexcusable. 3. The crust still sucks. No perfs now but you can tell its manufactured dough or they are using machines to roll it out. Uniform thickness, perfect roundness on the edges, no irregularities. 4. They have those Wal-Mart pizza ovens, you know, the conveyor belt roundy round metal grate thingy. No long thin Blodgett or Bakers Pride that cooks on STONE! Being from Long Island I’m embarressed that people might think this is what pizza is like there. It is not. This is just another Little Caesers now. Actually it’s more like 3rd Grade Elementary School Cafeteria pizza. The horror.

I’m giving the pizza 4.5 stars. I think it’s a great addition to the South Shore area. The crust was very favorable. Although a bit expensive if you compare the price of a pie to one of the chains. However the house salad we ordered was abysmal. At $ 7, you’d expect much more. Also it was very bland. Neither of us finished our share. Luckily the pizza made up for it. My star rating is solely on the pizza as our salad would’ve been 1 star and would not be a fair assessment to the folks who are strictly ordering a pie.

5 stars because i’m grading on a curve. This is the best pizza in the area, hands down! I’ve only been in the area for 2 years, and have tried many many pizza places. They are all terrible, this one is good… actually really good! My kids said«never order pizza from anywhere else again, always go here». Delivery took 1.5 hrs, but worth it. And they told me it would take that long when i called in my order and i said that’s okay.

Just great pizza. Waited until we tried it a second time to leave this review, but they are our first choice for pizza from now on!(Not sure what other people had issue with on the crust– they are tossing it around when you go in.)

Best pizza around. Very clean spot, Grest owner, and great tasting pizza and wings. Tried a few different pizza places prior to these guys and none of them could even compare.

I like the shop. There is one other local Pizza place(won’t name on this review) that I prefer but I think this is one of the best in Gibsonton/Riverview area.

We have ordered pizza here several times as we live nearby. We don’t do any of the other area pizzerias any more. This is close if not right on the NY pizza we remember from our vacation to the Big Apple. We absolutely love it. We have tried the wings too. They are good, baked, but good. The pizza is AWESOME! If you are searching for pizza, don’t hesitate, proceed directly to LIP!

Our new favorite pizza place in the area. I am from Long Island, and this pizza is comparable to many of my favorite places up there. We usually order meatball pizza and it’s amazing. The rice balls and wings were wonderful, too.

Looking for a good pizza place in this area isn’t easy, so I always try to check out the NY places. Wasn’t impressed by reviews, but always willing to give a place a chance, never know if the poor reviews are written by employees of a competitor. Also, who ever really heard of «bad crust»?? Ahem. Sometimes, Unilocal is right. We ordered a caprese pizza. Drove by the place a few times(look kids! Big Ben!) cause we missed the entrance to the strip mall. Place was dead. Friendly people. Picked up pizza. Went home. Opened box. Cheese pizza. Not caprese. It wasn’t like they were busy. And they had our number. When we left with the wrong pizza and they realized it, they should have called and offered to make it up. Nope. Anyways, we like cheese pizza, so we dug in. Unilocalers were right. Crust was not good. Tasted like cardboard. The tasty sauce could not make up for it. I decided I wasn’t hungry anymore after my first slice. So did Hubby. He then threw out the rest of pizza, declaring it wasn’t worth keeping. I’ve never known him to EVER throw away pizza. Will not return.

Had lunch with family. We tried the pizza, mozzarella sticks, rice balls, chicken Parmesan and chicken Philly. Everything was superb. Freshly made and delicious. Wished I lived closer. Great customer service. Highly recommend.

Their pizza is fantastic! Ordered the meat lovers one and was in heaven. Wonderful flavor and plenty of toppings. The crust on the other hand was a tad blech but the yumminess of the pizza made me overlook that. They also have these rice balls that sounded gross but when I tried one I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious they were.

Saw a write-up in one of the local papers that get tossed on everyone’s driveway. Love a good NY style pizza, so we decided to try getting a pie delivered and see how well this new place is doing things. Having dinner with my mother, and she noted that they use heated delivery bags, thought that sounded kind of fancy & liked the idea. Ordered on a Saturday afternoon, at about 4:45, was quoted 45 minutes to an hour. It was just after 6:00 when the driver arrived. No biggie. Delivery times are just estimates. First con: driver forgot to bring the 2 cannolis we ordered. Promised he’d be right back & apologized profusely. I told him not to worry– I’ve done the same job & know things sometimes happen. Sadly, as soon as I took the pizza box from the driver, I could tell there was no heated delivery bag involved. The box was room temperature. I should have handed it right back to him. Instead, I took it inside & opened to box to discover that the pizza inside was also at a solid room temperature. And the pizza we ordered, a Caprese, is supposed to have a drizzle of balsamic vinegar on it. Ours had none at all. Mom liked the flavor of the pizza. I thought the sauce had a bit of sweetness that seemed a little off for NY style pie. Not bad, mind you, just not quite what I’m used to.(I am a NJ native, and lived within an hour oy NYC for much of my youth) Plenty of toppings, no corners cut there– lots of fresh basil. The crust was thin, but maybe a tad too thin for me– even the edges were wafer thin, no bubbling or expanding. As others have noted, it appears to be machine rolled. Reasonable drive time from my house to their retail location would be 5 – 7 minutes. It took more than half an hour before our cannolis arrived. Not a big deal, but you’d think they’d send him directly back, posthaste, after he forgot to bring them the first time. Happily, the cannolis were the savior of the meal for me. Shells were light & crispy, filling dense & creamy with just the right level of sweetness. I could order these by the dozen. I’ll go back again, because I hate to write off a promising restaurant based on a bad first impression. Next time, perhaps I’ll visit their retail location. And I will skip the specialty pie & stick with something more standard– sausage & mushroom, perhaps. I want to see if a more traditional pie works out better.

This is the best pizza in Riverview! We just moved from New York and we were searching for good New York style pizza. We were delighted when we read an article about it in the local newspaper. We decided to try it and it far exceeded our expectations. Excellent! No more worries about finding good pizza.

A decent pizza here, with a very nice sauce and toppings. I would have rated it higher if the crust was better. It seemed more like a «machined» crust. If it had a nice hand-tossed crust it would be hard to beat.

We have followed this pizza maker from store to store. Now he is in out back yard which was a nice surprise so we immediately stopped by for a slice. New place is a bit claustrophobic. Narrow with a line of tables down one side. I don’t care for it. Although new and clean, was just too closed in for me. Our server was a friendly face from the previous Fishhawk location, Jeannette. She’s just awesome and was pretty much the sole reason the visit was good. We only had a slice since it was mid afternoon. To get the toppings I like would have made one slice too expensive so I settled for pepperoni. Something was wrong. Didnt have the flavor I remembered. A bit of a disappointment. Pizza was a bit underdone and I hate that, but I’ll take responsibility for that because I didn’t ask for it cooked that way. I hope they work out their kinks and become as good as they were. I know we will return and this time we will get our regular dinner of antipasto salad and pizza with the topping we enjoy. This may make a big difference. Oh hh, and cook it well done please!!!

This is a great new place in town! If you are from the New England area or just like real NY style pizza this is the place. The rice balls are just like homemade. The sauce should be sold as a separate item, it is that good! The chicken tenders and fries are served straight up. I would ask next time if they come with any sauce. The pizza had a thin crispy crust that was amazing! The flavors and the fresh ingredients we a big plus for a first time customer, like myself. My wife and I can’t wait to order again!

We just got home from the airport after spending the day traveling with an infant. Needless to say, my husband and I were hungry, tired, and feeling lazy. We decided to try this place for the first time… Yum! We ordered the white pizza and added pepperoni to it. I recommend the pizza, but I have a feeling anything on the menu would be delicious :)
