I was on a business trip and ate here twice in two days. Both the fish tacos and fish and chips are fantastic. The scene is fun. It’s like going to a pub but actually getting to eat decent food. If I was a local I would probably come here all the time.

Went there for lunch. It has a beautiful view of the waterfront. My favorite dish was the clam chowder. It was delicious.

We didn’t have the best service experience and I wrote a review about it. The GM reached out to me immediately and took care of us. Her time and attention to the matter meant a great deal. We have always enjoyed the Tides and had hoped that the service hadn’t started to go down hill. Looks like it was probably just a one off. I am looking forward to dining again and posting an update! But I am very pleased with the level of follow-up and care.

This is one of our favorite places when we visit Gig Harbor! You can’t beat the view from inside & especially outside on the deck when weather allows! All of the food that we have had has been delicious. We especially like the chowder & smoked salmon linguini! They have a nice selection of draft beer & a Happy Hour too! The staff has always been friendly & helpful too. There are many choices but we keep coming back here because it offers so much!

Awesome happy hour, 3 – 6 pm M-F. Lots of people today(Dec 30th) given it’s between the holidays. We had the halibut & chips($ 10), crab/mac& cheese, and wedge salad 5 stars). Followed with a cup of clam chowder. Happy hour dishes are like tapas so great to share. Anniversary Tides IPA was great! Great friendly place with outstanding service. Highly recommended.

Great atmosphere, Wonderful service and premium seafood! I will return! The waitresses were very patient with my picky companion. They made sure we were taken care of.

The first thing I love about this place is its 21 and over! Second thing I love is the beautiful view of the water and the gorgeous houses on the other side of the water — we always have a fun time picking out our favorites. Third is the service: the waitresses are always sweet and attentive. We’ve been here several times now, and the last time we were in was Halloween night and all their employees were dressed up which I thought was fun. Food is always good too! The fish tacos were fresh and came with great salsa, and my bf got a bbq burger and WOW that was delicious. Will definitely be back again soon!

Wish I could give this restaurant 5 stars but did not get the chance to try the food. Drove up from NorCal to visit our daughter who was working in town. While waiting for her to get off work ordered cocktails(delicious, by the way) & decided what to order. Upon her & a friend arriving, they were informed that they could not have dinner without an ID proving they were 21. Her friend is but our daughter is 20 and 10 months. The server told us regretfully that we would have to leave. I expressed surprise as the law in California is that someone under 21 can eat in an establishment that serves alcohol but just can’t drink. Our server said it is the same in WA but that the owners just didn’t want children in the restaurant. Personally, I think(and the law agrees) that and 18+ year old is an adult & should be trusted to eat a meal without causing a problem. Again, very disappointed.

Great restaurant, the food and drinks are wonderful. It is for ages 21 and over, which I appreciate. When I have family from out of town, we always go there, to sit and watch the boats.

2nd time dining… Not so pleasant experience as the first one. Nacho chips were cold and soggy… Fries were lukewarm. Unmotivated server who disappears for 10 mins and not showing any gratitude. Maybe deserves a third visit and I shall come to conclusion.

Well, today I’m feeling really grateful for a couple of reasons: 1. That I got stuck with a flat tire and was forced to read the Kitsap Sun newspaper in my car while the tow truck arrived. This featured the Tides Tavern in their A&E section. 2. That I read this convincing article and made it my mission to visit the next day. 3. That I went on a beautiful sunny day and had the best clam chowder I’ve ever had in my life! Their chowder doesn’t have that too thick base and over potatoed problem that a lot of Seattle chowders do. The thyme infusion and smaller pieces make is soooo flavorful. Can’t really imagine many other places I would like to spend a sunny summer lunch in the gig. Their patio seating is some of the best! However, the all wood interior is cozy and makes you feel at home so come check it on a rainy day too. I highly recommend their halibut fish and chips and Tides anniversary IPA! I have heard their French bread is good so I plan on trying that next time. I would have said this is a four star joint but because when I left I immediately started thinking of all the people I would want to bring here I’m bumping it up to five.

We were looking for a place to cool off on one of our 90 degree days. Not this place — they have No air. We did eat outside on the deck in the shade and it was OK. I am fussy about my Chowder and would say they make a Great chowder. We also loved the Beer batter Halibut best and the cod was also good Service on the deck was fast, friendly and efficient.

Great meals on the water. Whether you come by bike, car, or boat, there is parking available. With a medium sized dock(820−30ft sections) there is plenty of room to dock and eat if you are coming via the sea. This place is 21+ so kids are not permitted, which means no crying children . During the summer there is outdoor seating in a dock like environment, literally over the water, making you feel as if you are out on the water during your meal. There is an impressive indoor selection of seating as well if the outdoors aren’t your thing. Now for the food. The tides boasts a large selection of seafood, all of which is wild, so no fish from farms. This makes them healthier for ingestion. My party had both salmon, halibut, and cod varieties and all of us were satisfied. I enjoyed coming to this place as a child but I unfortunately had to stay on the boat, now being 22, I’m very happy to be sitting here, enjoying my lunch. Would recommend for good seafood.

What’s great find! This was our last stop before heading to the airport on our honeymoon. The views are great. Work the the wait to be seated on the deck. We ordered a couple adult beverages and some food. Had the clams; fish tacos; and halibut fish fry. All were really great. And fresh. For bar food, what a treat. The service was speedy & polite.

This is not a quite, family restaurant. Leave the kids home, no one under 21 allowed. Noise level through the roof. Lots of beer and booze. Oh yeah, and the food. The food is great. Mussels by the ½ pound. So far we’ve ordered them 6 times in two visits. Fish and Chips. With the fish being Cooper River Salmon. Unbelievable. We were there twice and it was during the U.S. Open, so probably not typical, but one night on the patio one night inside. Inside was a bar scene. Not unpleasant, but not great. The night on the patio was great. What a lovely experience. I hear the pizza is great but don’t know. The calamari was very good. The chowder was tasty. It’s a New England style, potato and bacon. Nicely seasoned. This is a good place to have a group, kick back with friends and enjoy a meal. Did I mention the mussels?

Good view, friendly server, fresh ingredient, very good beers. We ordered clam chowder and fish-n-chips. Two safe choices that did not disappoint. The two Tides IPA were both quite drinkable. Somehow, wearing my shades and hat, watching the sail boats idled by, having the fish-n-chip, conversing casually with the companion. This feels like a 5-star. Guess that’s the magic. This is a bar restaurant, no one under 21 will be admitted.
