A Gig Harbor buddy who happens to be one of the great dinner hosts in the universe when he is cooking on his own booked our group of five into Morso. It is sited up the ridge at the far end of Gig Harbor, with a wonderful view of the waterfront, and, unlike most restaurants down there, has ample free parking. We ordered several appetizers, which were matched to a tasty Walla Walla Red. Of the appetizers, the round of Brie with baguette slices drew the most raves. Our companions raved about the Cassoulet and the chicken breast. My filet mignon was perfectly medium-rare, tender and juicy. I just did not feel that the mushroom sauce brought out its flavor well. Attentive service, amazing wine selection, and warm roomy surroundings. Food was good, but not great. We’ll be going back.

Wait, did I miss the GH downtown exit and keep driving straight to Beverly Hills? I’m a lifetime resident of Gig Harbor and this was my first(and last) time visiting this restaurant. This restaurant clearly is only interested in serving a specific clientele. Sadly, they let the waitstaff determine who that is. We arrived at 4:30 on a Friday and there was only one other table occupied in the restaurant, however, once we told the waiter that we did not have reservations, we were OUTCASTSFORLIFE. He was obviously not happy that A. We were there only for happy hour B. We didn’t make a reservation. We were told that most people reserve a table for happy hour… OK, kind of defeating the point of happy hour, but whatever. The entire rest of the evening, we were treated like 3rd class passengers on the Titanic. We actually wanted to partake in the wine tasting event and buy some wine, however after inquiring several times as to how or where this process took place, our waiter refused to give us the details. We finally had to ask another server. It was also very clear that our waiter knew many of the regular patrons who trickled in throughout the evening and was very friendly and accommodating to them, however refused give us the time of day. Every time we wanted a glass of wine, some water, or even to order food, we had to ask multiple times and were snarled at(he was far too occupied making sure he held the floor down behind the bar). When the owner came in for the evening we explained to her that this was the WORST service we’d ever experienced in our lifetime. She explained that it was the end of that waiter’s shift and he was probably«checked out» and offered us a gift certificate which we declined. Why would we want to come back? The waiter did not appear to be «checked out» with any of this regular customers. There is never an excuse for treating people like this especially in an establishment with fine dining prices. Our food was mediocre… lettuce wraps were soggy but edible and the slider’s had potential. The menu looked great and I would have made a dinner reservation for the future had the restaurant earned it. Trust me when I tell you that after all these years of living in the Harbor, I am all too familiar with snootiness and have adapted. however, this restaurant takes snooty to a whole new level and it’s not even justified. This restaurant needs to change its course before it really does become the Harbor’s own Titanic.

My husband and I were there this past weekend for a concert. We have been here many times in the past and have a favorite wine that we usually purchase there by the bottle. We ordered the wine and our dinner. The food here is sub standard at best. Over priced for the quality and freshness and temperature it’s served at. But the atmosphere and the view are good. When we were ready to go and our check came, our wine was $ 14.00 more than we normally pay and when I questioned it our waiter told us that the price we were accostomed to was their«happy hour» price… Well why didn’t he tell us that since the wine we ordered wasn’t even on the menu? Our waiter became rude and distant explaining that we needed to speak with the Manager. When I tried to ask her about the change in the price, I was cut short very rudely. When I went to pay my… over $ 100.00 tab for dinner… my waiter asked if I was ready to settle up and I said simply yes, but I was not happy with the answer I was given about the wine. To my complete horror the waiter turned to me and with a straight face asked. «Are you happy with anything… ever? Seriously… I looked him straight in the face and asked«are you kidding»? He said, «it’s ate serious question… are re you ever happy?» I was happy NOT leaving him a tip… won’t be back… ever! !!

We have been to this place a few times. The wine is always delicious and the baked goat cheese appetizer is amazing! However I would recommend stopping there. The menu doesn’t seem full and we weren’t thrilled with the flat bread. Great for happy hour and an app, think twice about a full meal; entrees are good, but not great.

The restaurant was half empty but the owner/hostess couldn’t seat us because«we didn’t have reservations». We headed to Greenhouse which was PACKED and they could not have been nicer and found us seats immediately. My vote is definitely Greenhouse.

Quiet, intimate place tucked into downtown Gig Harbor. We purposely sought out a local, smaller venue on Halloween night to avoid the costumed crowds at the mainstream places The steak special was cooked perfectly; tender and very flavorful. All four of us were very pleased with our salad and entrée selections. The Crème Brulee cheesecake, said to be made in house was yummy! Our server was knowledgeable about the menu selections and provided great descriptors and details of the food, wine and beers. She recommended a very good Pinot and an IPA we had never tried before. She was charming with quick witted banter which made the overall experience even better. Parking area up behind the building. Advertised live music a few times a month which we will definitely check out.

We tried Morso last night and were wowed by our entrees — we had the stuffed poblano peppers and the Penn Cove mussels with spicy coconut sauce: both amazing — not just good, but truly gourmet. Like a previous review, this restaurant could easily survive the competition in Seattle. Definitely a treat to go here. And the wine list, the best. We’ll be back!

I can’t even begin to describe the amazing meal I had here. I am a steak connoisseur, and well just a tad bit of a wino. Our waitress was very personable with us, environment was remarkable, and to top it off both plates we ordered were just solid 10s! My filet mignon came with two sides of veggies, some potatoes & eggplant. From the look of the plate it didn’t look like it would be good. But once I took a bite of each item on my plate. I had savior the flavor for as long as I could. Portion was perfect, food was beyond incredible, and staff so sweet and friendly. They raised the bar real high!

Phenomenal wine, service and conversation with the owner. This place is a top pick for anyone wanting knowledgable wine bartenders and friendlier than normal servers. The food was impeccable and the selection of wine was TOPNOTCH! They have wines I have never heard of, and wines that few and hard to come by. Well done Morso!

Honestly, this is the only restaurant I’ve been to in Gig Harbor that serves objectively good food. I think this is the only local restaurant that could survive the competition in Seattle. The Barolo braised beef is consistently our favorite dish, although we’ve never had a bad dish. If you’re a somewhat sophisticated diner and you find yourself in Gig Harbor — this is where you want to go. Do not read misleading Unilocal reviews, do not ask locals — just go here.

First off, we didn’t eat. We had been to the place when it was a retail wine shop and liked the selection of wines. On a rare occasion we had a night off without our kids, and thought it would be a good idea to get a glass of wine and enjoy the time without kids. We showed up about 6PM and about half the restaurant was empty including the entire bar area. We were asked if we had reservations, we did not, and we were told there was an hour wait. We clarified we only wanted a few glasses of wine at the bar and didn’t intend to order food. The hostess said she would check, she went into the back to chat with the owner, who I recognized from the wine shop days; she returned and said we could not be accommodated until 7:15. Oh well, another place to add to my list of «never to return». No problem getting a few glasses across the street.

We have been to Morsos several times this summer including a wine tasting where I bought a case of wine, afternoon drinks with a great view in this summer 2015 heat, evening dining, and to listen to music. First experience = delightful(ergo, the return visits). Second and third, less enamored. But when we stopped at 8 for wine at the wine bar, the service was one the worst we had ever had. anywhere. The waitress was grumpy and frowned. She did not take our order until we went to the bar and had to request her service and she acted like it was a bother to wait on us. One glass of wine: She never returned until the bill came. It wasn’t sunny. Maybe we only returned because of the view. We will not return.

We dined here the other night. The food we got was burned, and the seafood was undercooked. Our server was rude and we still had to pay for the inedible dish! I do not recommed this restaurant. The view is nice, but that’s where it stops. Go to Tides Tavern down the street, we’ve never been disappointed there.

I wish I could rate Morso higher. The location is stunningly beautiful, our server was very friendly and professional, and the food had… potential. BUT… We arrived fairly early and the place was more than half empty. Moderate business but not«busy» by any stretch of the imagination. I ordered the Filet Mignon with mushroom sauce, because I saw a couple of them go by and it looked delicious. I asked for the steak medium-rare. Our food came out in a leisurely, but reasonable, amount of time. I cut into my steak and it was very very brown inside. I cut into the middle of the steak to verify, and again, not a trace of pink. Now, I’ve only ever sent a meal back at a restaurant once in my life, and that was when I got a piece of raw cod with some fish & chips. So I did not take this possibility lightly. But come on, $ 25 for a 6oz steak, I’m going to need that medium-rare if I asked for medium-rare. «Sorry about that, we’ll fire another one right up for you!» 10 minutes go by 20 minutes go by «They’re working on it right now!» 30 minutes go by. I finally tell the waiter, «Hey, no harm no foul, but if you could just take it off the bill I’ll do without, we’re going to take off» He told me, «But they’re plating it right now!» Ehhhhh, okay, cool. To be fair, the steak did come out immediately after he said that. I cut into it and… so brown. So overcooked. The inside was, once again, the color and consistency of pot roast. At this point I was NOT going to say anything about it and so I ate my pot-roast-mignon. The mushroom sauce was very, very good though. To be fair to them, they took the steak off the bill after all. But it still blows my mind they could mess up a steak that badly twice in a row. I may even try Morso again, but god help you if you want a steak.

We had a gift card that we hadn’t used in quite a while, we decided to go try it out, and stop on by. We got there at about 5:15PM, and it was a night they had a concert later in the night(reservations only etc). They said, if we didn’t mind the setup for the show, and that we’d have to be gone by 7:30, that they could accommodate us. We agreed, and had a delicious dinner! Our server(Kevin I believe) was a great server, and the hostess /manager lady picked our first round of drinks of ’ due to the band setting up’ Top notch service, and will be returning again!

Flatbreads = Good! Service = Lacking. As with many reviews here, we were asked if we had a reservation? Um, no. So we waited while they cleared a table outside. Inside there was at least 10 open tables and no one sitting at the bar. A third person working behind the bar was merely shuffling wine bottles instead of helping the others greet guests or set up tables… After being seated it took the overwhelmed staff way too long to greet our table. We were given menus, but not asked if we’d like a drink. Hello? After memorizing the menu, the server took our order. We ordered everything at once because we weren’t sure when we’d see them again. Word of advice, don’t go here when it’s busy. Or looks busy. We only had one beverage because the server was inattentive and we decided to pay and leave. We went to another nearby bar for faster service. Sorry.

First impression… we arrive, greeted with a smile, asked if we had a reservation… um… nope? it was pretty empty… oh, well, i guess you can sit at the bar. Really? gee thanks… We have picked this place for our one night in town for dinner due to the menu! It is advertized as a wine bar. We bellied up… the wines looked interesting but pretty costly. The one beer i wanted to try — cause it was local — they were out of. The bar tender did her best to help pick another beer, but the result was less than stellar… Our food: Baked goat cheese Mushroom ragout — meh, good with the goat cheese Spinach salad(cute presentation with a cucumber strip holding it all together) Cheese plate for desert It was all pretty tasty, and probably good for a date, and assuming the summer on the deck would be super fun. But can’t say i’d rush back…
