I celebrated my 60th birthday last night at JW’s with 17 of my closest friends. Jamie did an exceptional job in organizing the event. The service and the food were exceptional. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody. The scallops, filet mignon, and chicken pasta dishes were creatively presented and delicious. Everyone raved about the raspberry cheesecake and crème brûlée desserts.

Amazing. The service was stellar. Best I’ve experienced in Gig Harbor. Oren was a pro. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared. We savored every bite. The wine list was perfect. Worth every dollar.

I was there last night for date night dinner. We had 6:30 reservations and were seated right away. Jw’s isn’t PNW comfort food, so nothing over the top. 1. Service: forgot her name, sorry, but she was attentive all night. 2. Food: very good. For appetizer we had the Ahi Crisps. Nice portion and the favors worked well. I had the flat iron steak. Seasoned well and cooked med. rare like I asked. The sides were also seasoned well. My wife had the scallops which were also cooked and seasoned well. We had a great experience and will be back.

Stopped in on Valentine’s with my sweetie without reservation, was still able to get right in, what a plus! Waitresses were exceptionally cordial and sweet, another plus. So far, so good. Then we had dinner. WOW, this place has some seriously tasty food, triple plus! The reviews are so accurate. JW has amazing food and service, especially on special occasions. Worth the money.

This place is a delightful slice of heaven! Best salad I’ve ever had! Not even finished with dinner, I just couldn’t wait to write this review… More to come, filet and lobster next! I just might die! Update…wow! Filet mignon was outstanding! I am definitely going to have food dreams about this place!

We originally had reservations at Canlis in Seattle for our anniversary. When I checked the recent reviews, I found they were mixed and since the check can easily hit $ 500 there for dinner for 2 I decided to see what options might be available in or close to Gig Harbor. This decision landed us at JW and to our new local go to intimate dining option. My husband mentioned our anniversary on Opentable and there was a card signed by the staff on our table and they congratulated us on our 27th anniversary as we were seated and put a candle waxed to the plate of one of the desserts we ordered… and I think that dessert was complimentary. Dinner was a nicely paced two hour event. I can’t imagine we would have been happier at Canlis. The food was delicious and the portions perfect. We will be back!

Wonderful experience tonight as a family. Food, wine, and service were top notch. Setting was warm and inviting and the chef came out to our table to ask how everything was. We will be back.

Charming small bistro with personable service and excellent food. We dined here on the night after Christmas when it was very, very quiet(only 2 tables of diners when we were there). Started with artisan bread and butter(excellent) and samples of local wine. I had salmon which was perfectly prepared; scallops were also very good. Good variety on menu — we had a carnivore and a pescetarian and some other dietary restrictions and there was something for everyone to enjoy. Thank you JW for a great experience — we’ll definitely be back.

The five of us had a lovely meal at JW. I recommend the price fix menu of $ 30 which was offered on the Tuesday we were there. The Tina appetizer was excellent, as was the shrimp and lobster app. I had the market salmon which was cooked to perfection. The halibut special was also on point. Great service here, I am excited to return.

My fiancé and I came here for dinner. The restaurant is small and cozy, greeted by the host and offered a wine tasting upon being seated. Bread was brought while we looked at the menu. My husband had the flat iron steak and he ordered it medium-rare and to his surprise it was just that. Usually restaurants tend to overlook the meat but the chefs here prepared his steak exactly the way it was ordered. I had the eggplant parmigiana which was perfectly al dente. They have a table that overlooks the kitchen so you can see the chefs prepare your food. Very clean inside, very calm and quiet, perfect for a romantic or cozy dinner.

My boyfriend and I visited JW for the first time this week, I had read about how small the restaurant was and personally loved it, it was very cozy and I loved the ambiance. We were seated quickly an had been able to make reservations online which was very nice. Our server was sweet and brought my boyfriend a number of samples of the house wines to let him decide on one he liked. I enjoyed that we were able to order an appetizer, finish it then decide on our entrees. We ordered the pork and scallops for our entrees, the pork was wonderful!!! So well made. The scallops were good but I felt that $ 28 dollars was a bit much for what I received, the cobbler dessert we finished with was also awesome. We are excited to return and explore more of the menu.

This is a cute little place, however, it is quite expensive for the experience and food. It is a sweet restaurant, service is good, and food is nice, not exceptional. I challenge them to up their game a bit to take the idea of quaint, adorable atmosphere to the next level with amazing menu options!

Outstanding little place. MAKE A RESERVATION. They do allow you to bring your own bottle of wine, we did not, so I do not know the corkage fee. They highlight local vintners, so it’s a good chance to learn of something new. Food is VERY good. They describe their menu as «comfort food», and that might be the best description for the variety without a specialty. They have all the colors of meat covered, they have a pasta, so whatever you may have a craving for, they’ve got it. I had the Wild Boar Bourguignon, and it was incredible. It’s presentation would be best described as a stew, but an incredible stew. My wife had the scallops, and they were probably the best prepared scallops we’ve ever had. I also recommend an app with crostini, crunchy on the outside, but soft/chewy on the inside. Perfect with the goat cheese.

My husband and I live in Gig Harbor and this is our favorite special occasion/date night restaurant to go to in the Harbor! Always 5 star service and amazing food! The young woman who works up front and is the waitress is very knowledgeable and always so sweet! They bring out a wine sample of one of their current favorite wines. We made reservations for our anniversary a few months ago and they put out a cute card waiting on our table wishing us a happy anniversary and individually signed by their whole staff! Get Jamies flatbread! You won’t regret it! Sooo delicious. I usually get the flat iron steak or the roasted chicken! Yum! They decorated our dessert which was crème brûlée with cute little hearts on top! I love the intimate and romantic atmosphere including the décor and the use of old broken wine bottles as candle votives. It is expensive but I find it to be completely worth it! Keep up the amazing food and service JW! Elliot and Alexis Autuchovich

Everything was perfect, the appetizers, the main course, and especially the desserts. We had the lobster cakes and the flatbread to start. Then we shared the scallops. The chocolate mousse cake and peach crumble for dessert. The food, presentation, and experience are top notch. It is clear why this place is so highly rated.

A wonderful dining experience. The service was impeccable and the food outstanding. The wine recommendation worked for both my husband’s pork entrée and my fish. The ambience of the space is very nice — we sat in the front room but saw the room in back which seemed spacious. Tables are not too close together giving enough privacy to each party. The staff was extremely friendly. Here’s my one warning(and this is for many restaurants): there’s a trend in restaurants to serve some meats and fish less cooked than I’m used to so(or like). So if you prefer your meat or fish cooked more, ask for exactly what you like. We had to send my husband’s entrée back to be cooked some more since it wasn’t to his liking. No problem and it didn’t detract from our overall experience. We look forward to going back and trying many more dishes and other wines on the large wine list.

Go on a weeknight and get the 3 for $ 30. They have a nice selection to choose from on the prix fixe menu. The menu changes regularly so there’s always something new to try. Elevated comfort food in a cosy setting. There is ample parking. Make a reservation if you are planning to eat there at the weekend.

Our first time dining at JW’s was tonight and we will for sure be back. I’m really bummed that tonight was our first time eating here and not sooner, we have been in Gig Harbor for a couple years and finally ventured in. We were never sure if it was open… The food was great, the ambiance was nice and our server was very friendly. Please don’t let the smaller outside fool you like it did us and slow you from dining at JW’s
