Caketini

There is no denial that the cup cake decorations are very nice, but I dislike the taste since most of the cup cakes I’ve tried are way too sweet for me. So far, I have tasted Chocolate and Lemon Raspberry, but I’m not impressed that much. Probably, it was just my personal reference, but I’d prefer less sweet cake for a better price.

What a great bakery! I stopped in last night for my dad’s birthday. The young lady who helped me, Ally (I believe), even helped take the cupcakes to my car because I was pushing my baby and toddler in a stroller. I will definitely return. The cupcakes were outstanding and huge!!!

A few years ago at a wedding I was photographing, I had a slice of gluten free wedding cake by Caketini, oh my gosh … amazing. I refer them all the time.

What to do when some of the family wants chocolate, others caramel and still others pumpkin spice for our sugar fix for the week? Caketini!
Quick in and out service after a busy day (week). Friendly, competent staff. Yummy cup cakes with enough variety for everyone.
Despite being in crowded, limited parking San Tan Mall, this little shop is on the north side with great parking and easy access.

I tried the pumpkin spice cupcake, and it was delicious! Moist cake, and perfectly sweet frosting! I’m looking forward to trying their other flavors! My husband tried the Red velvet, and the frosting was perfect, and the cake was very moist!

This location has prepared birthday cakes for my kids as well as served as a quick stop on the way home for a BIG treat. They have a fairly large selection of flavored (usually about 8 – 10) cupcakes to choose from but both their cakes, as well as the cupcakes, are overpriced.
The taste is mediocre in my opinion and there is way too much frosting on the cupcakes.

This place looked cute but the cupcakes are terrible! I got Red Velvet, Funfetti, Salted Caramel, and a Strawberry (alcohol) one. The Red Velvet tastes exactly how dog food smells! :(the alcohol one was really strong. Salted caramel and Funfetti were okay but I’ve had a lot better. Will not be returning.

We bought 3 cupcakes earlier this evening to celebrate our daughters great job in school. We got the chocolate celebration, red velvet and s’mores. They were really good. The girl at the counter was nice. Prices are what you expect.

Not impressed. Tried four flavors of the cup cakes. German chocolate, carrot cake, red velvet, and tuxedo. The carrot cake is the best in my opinion. Would not return. Only went because we had been given a modest gift card.

We had been to Caktini many times, when we first moved here in 2011, in fact it was my kids favorite «special occasion» treat choice. 3 of us, could share a cupcake and still have some left over. I visited last week, after about a year, and while the staff was wonderful, the cupcakes seem to have shrunk. Truly, diminished in size. The flavor is still amazing, but for the cost it was a disappointment. The easy sell of the overpriced cupcakes, was the size. Bad move Caktini.

I was in search for a great bakery to create a custom cake for my little ones 1^st birthday. I read through the reviews and although a bit hesitant, I thought I’d try this place. Boy oh boy, am I so glad I did! It was so delicious! The vanilla cake with strawberry buttercream was moist and sweet, but not overly sweet. And the design of the cake was absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for such a wonderful cake! Kudos to Caketini and your amazing bakers and designers! You’ll definitely see me again soon!

Ordered my cake over the phone because the website didn’t work. It took a couple days to reach anyone over the phone. I picked my cake up Saturday afternoon it was absolutely adorable And DELICIOUS!!!

Cherry Limeade (top right in picture below; cherry cake with «lime”-type frosting, almost reminiscent of the Sonic drink; couldn’t find this flavor listed as one of their traditional, gourmet, or season flavors on the website, but worth trying nonetheless)
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (top left in picture below; we could not find a description of this cupcake on the website either, but it appeared to be a vanilla based cake with chocolate chips, a vanilla cream frosting with cookie dough on top and «secretly» in the cupcake itself — see below)
Very Strawberry (bottom cupcake in picture below; Strawberry Cake with Strawberry enriched Buttercream)
Overall Rating: 4 out of 5 Cupcakes
Cupcake Break-​Down: All Cupcakes received between a 7 out of 10 to 9 out of 10 rating, giving Caketini a 8 out of 10 rating in general.
Cherry Limeade: the initial impression of this cupcake, was «very pink», but «looked cool» with its bright pink and green going on. We rated this cupcake a ⁷⁄₁₀. The cake itself was moist with a good texture, but did not seem to truly reflect a cherry flavor. The icing or «limeade» had a good texture/​flavor and was «not too limey» so as to overpower the cake.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough: we rated this cupcake a 8.0 to 8.5÷10. The icing was a little sweet and didn’t seem to somehow match the cake, but was otherwise really good and we are «always happy to find a cookie dough ball in the middle of a cupcake». This pleasant surprise (a neat trick) made this a favorite for some of the group.
Very Strawberry: we rated this cupcake a 8.5 to ⁹⁄₁₀. The cake was good, moist, with equally good frosting and an appropriate amount of strawberry flavoring in each. Not overpowering or underwhelming in nature, even for those in the group who do not enjoy strawberry flavoring.
Positives: Bigger portions than we had seen at the other cupcake stores/​bakeries visited so far. The cakes were fresh, moist, good texture, «cakey» enough, with a good well-​rounded selection of flavors and creative icing flavors.
Negatives: We found mostly Positives here. Occasionally the frosting flavors were a little sweet, but not overwhelmingly so.

General Comments: One of our favorites so far. A surprising front runner for some of our group who had not had as positive an experience in the past, but for today’s tasting, this store was a Group Favorite and we would recommend the cake, flavor adventures, and creativity to anyone. Especially for the «cookie dough surprise».

This place is not bad. We checked it out because the line at frost was out the door. Came close to closing so the staff was busy closing down. Tuxedo cupcake was good as well as the cannoli. Frosting was very sweet. Once that was off, it was a great cupcake. Worth giving another shot.

This little gem at San Tan Mall is pretty cool. I bought a few cupcakes for my mom for her BDay! They were delicious! We had one of the orange cream sickle and confetti cake cupcakes. We didnt go too wild, pretty basic cupcakes, but fluffy and delicious. The frosting is not too strong, or sugary and the cupcake itself is tasty. I do want to go back and try their champagne cupcake and cookie dough cupcake, look delicious just too much at one time haha.

Excellent cupcakes — definitely the best I’ve had out of the 5 or so places I’ve gone in AZ.
I tried the classic and the lemon with raspberry icing. Both were very moist and the icing was my perfect kind I like. Sort of like a really good birthday cake type, rather than the buttery type. (Yes, I am the fat kid who cares that much about icing haha)
The staff was friendly and the coffee was also really good.

I passed it a few times whenever going to watch a movie at the Harkins Theater behind it. I never see alot of people inside just maybe a few but I saw the menu and facebook posts of the page and I’d like to try it because it look good.
I do like their cupcakes but please don’t advertise a menu outside the shop when its not available. I had to go back 3x (when I get a chance to) for the Smores Cupcake to be available. The Caramel Cupcake «oozing caramel inside» doesn’t really ooze out when you cut it in half, but its good. For me I’d like more oozing caramel, that when you cut it in half — basically caramel oozes out.
Service is very friendly and inviting so def. coming back and hopefully next time they’ll get extra batches of marshmallows for the Smore’s since ‘they ran out’ that’s why they don’t serve it. I mean I would want to buy the cupcake itself and buy marshmallows at Walmart — and just add it on lol

We ordered a cake from Caketini for my sister’s baby shower back in September and I’m still thinking about how tasty it was! Definitely the best cake I’ve ever tasted. I live out of state and have been craving that cake for months now! The design was exactly what we wanted and the taste was even better. We chose a vanilla cake with vanilla custard… to die for. Everyone at the shower was ranting and raving about how delicious this cake was. I will be back during the holidays to get my Caketini fix!

Cupcakes look better then they are. The packaging and presentation of this bakery is the main reason why I wanted to try it out. I was disappointed the cupcakes are tasteless and the little flavor some cup cakes maybe have really aren’t very tasty. Very blah.
Had the cookie dough, key lime pie, vanilla with sprinkles and some others that I can’t remember.
