Hands down best Chinese food I have tasted! I have gone to many other places and I always seem to go back to that one. I go regularly to eat their buffet which has a great selection. All u can eat chow mein, fried rice, beef broccoli, orange chicken, kung pao chicken, fried shrimp, etc. When I don’t catch the buffet I order the house pan fry which is amazing! Love their soups, great service! Sometimes they get busy but they try and be very attentive. Interior isn’t the best but I don’t go to look at the place I go eat the amazing food!

I’m in Gilroy for two weeks for work so I had to find a place to eat lunch. I wasn’t expecting much out of a Chinese restaurant in Gilroy, and honestly, I didn’t get much. As so many other people have mentioned, the interior of the building is horrendous. I almost walked out as soon as I opened the door. Then I went to the all you can eat buffet(for under $ 9) and looked at the food. There was chow mean, fried rice, a couple meat dishes, and some shriveled green beans. I wasn’t impressed by the selection or the looks of the food at the buffet. Again, I almost walked out. I sat at the table and ordered special B. For $ 12 I got chicken chow mein, pork fried rice, a giant patty of fried shrimp, an egg roll, hot and sour soup, and Mongolian beef. It was a lot of food, but the quality wasn’t very good. I’m all for greasy food, but this is the greasiest food I remember eating. The food for the most part was bland. It was edible, but it wasn’t good. I remember Chinese food in rural Ohio being better than this. I would have been better off going to Panda down the road. I’ll give them an extra star for the large amount of food, but I’m just glad I don’t live in Gilroy where this kind of food is acceptable.

I was pleasantly surprised! I ordered food to be delivered which was delivered fairly quickly, in about 30 minutes. The food was very hot and tasted quite delicious. I order the Family Combo B and it came with A LOT of food. The service was very friendly as well. Overall, this place is pretty good!

This place gives decent portion and the staff is very tentative. I ordered the dinner combo for two and oh boy, I was suprised with how big the portions were. Could use a tad bit more flavor, but everything tasted fresh and happy this place was discovered. Will be going back!

pretty good chinese food. we had it delivered which was a plus but there was a $ 5 delivery charge. after eating the meal the first night and leftovers the following night, i felt SUPER tired so much so that i had to go to bed. Im a night owl so for a meal to get me that tired was little scary. ive had food coma before and this was not it. anyway i might try it again in the future but for now im holding off.

Despite the horrendous, filthy, straight up disgusting interior, the food is good. I like the general chicken and Mongolian beef. I would not under any circumstances recommend eating in. Order takeout and don’t let your wife see the conditions of the restaurant.

Good, standard Chinese food. We had House Deluxe Won Ton Soup($ 7.95 large), Egg Plant in Brown Sauce($ 7.75), Moo Shi Pork($ 7.95), Coconut Shrimp($ 12.25). It was all quite good. The brown sauce was better than at most Chinese restaurants. Décor is pretty simple, but OK. Service was OK. They were busy with take-out and delivery, so they could have used some more help on the in-restaurant service. The one improvement that is needed is the restrooms need a full remodel. They were clean, but in poor underlying shape. If you’re looking for a decent Chinese restaurant with good-sized portions, fair prices, give Great China Garden a try.

It’s True! Best Chinese Food in Gilroy for the price. Believe me. I’m really picky when it comes to Chinese Food and this place deserves the title. Beef and Broccoli over steamed rice is my absolute favorite. And you can’t go wrong at the buffet. Everything you want(well maybe not everything but very yummy choices) for only like only $ 8 – 10 or something. I love this place! And the owners are so sweet. A definite GO.

I just ordered delivery from here. I was told 30 – 40 minutes and he arrived within 25. I was pleasantly surprised and excited because I was hungry and sick. I ordered won ton soup which was super good. It wasn’t just filled with won tons and broth but had carrots, mushrooms, shrimp, celery and bamboo. I also order broccoli with beef which was good as well. It wasn’t over sauced or garlic out. I have to say the same for the chicken chow mien and fried rice. I will be going here again.

I am surprise I don’t have a review for this place yet. Having been here so many times in the past. Gilroy does not have many high end chinese restaurants but this one is popular for its quality of food. It has a homey feel. It also misses air conditioning which makes it a bit uncomfortable in summer specially.

The food at this place is awesome! it’s one of my go to places for lunch when working in Gilroy. I always get the General Chicken over rice very tasty! Yes the building could use a little update but I go for the great food not the atmosphere.

This place sucks the big one… who has ever heard of rice not offered with to-go orders and needs to be ordered separately? And packing the food? Fools that just threw it in a bag making a huge mess. I called and the owner who was defensive and offered no solution other than to say«my food good.» Wrong answer Mr. GCG, once again proving that Gilroy is not the place for dining out. Back to Morgan Hill eating establishments… lesson learned! Avoid this place and their bad attitude.

I would not eat at this place, and would not recommend it to anyone else. The outside looks a bit sketchy, but it’s the inside that did it for me. I went to the bathroom and walked past the kitchen… best mistake I’ve ever made. The kitchen was filthy, they had socks by the vegetables(socks by the onions) and dirt and grime everywhere. Once we decided to leave, the owner yelled at us and told us she was hurt that we refused to eat her food. She then proceeded to charge us because she made the food anyway. There was a hair on the table, the silverware was filthy and the fried rice smelled extremely burnt. Do not let the Gilroy Dispatch rating from over 7 years ago fool you! It was in 2005 and I am sure back then it was great, but for 2012… no. SAVEYOURMONEYANDGOSOMEWHEREELSE!

My quickest review to date… Don’t let the semi-sticky green naugahyde seats, dingy white curtains, and dollar store plastic plates turn you off –it’s all part of the crazy charm. This review is for their AYCE lunch buffet($ 6.95) at an absurdly low price! There are about 10 – 12 entrees to sample… not as much as other AYCE Chinese buffets, but these folks have a slight edge on the quality. C’mon they’ve won the Gilroy Dispatch’s «Best of» for a couple years running. Service is short, sweet and non descript. Soda’s are served from cans and the tap water tastes pretty clean. Standouts are the fried shrimp, spicy garlic fish filet, dried sautéed string beans. They had two soups-Wonton and Hot & Sour. I didn’t try the later but the wonton soup had lots of chicken, veggies and pork filled wontons swimming in a savory broth. Fun foods-French fries, jello, and Chinese donuts oh my! They also appear to offer a buffet for the weekend($ 7.95) now as well. I may make another excuse to go to the Gilroy Outlets to finish up my shopping and see how the food variety changes for those weekend shopping warriors? Couple Caveats… don’t come half hour before they close the buffet. You’ll end up with dried out stale food as they tend to shut the kitchen. Oh, even though they take credit cards there is a $ 10 minimum or else they charge you a service fee :(

Best chinese restaurant in town. Great service and awesome food proportion for a fairly inexpensive price. They never disappoint, well occasionally for deliveries and pick-ups it’s a long wait which is understandable since it is a small family restaurant. The place is a little outdated, but the food is always delicious.

I’m sorry but I don’t understand how this place gets high ratings and customers coming back. I guess people in and round Gilroy haven’t really experience great chinese food and restaurant. My family and I came here after a long day of shopping at the outlets and pick the first chinese place that came up on our GPS. It had to be here. Wow this place is so out dated and dirty I would have to say. The small fish tank by the door had a home made plastic Coke bottle as a filter. It had a red cap. Wow. The bathrooms were poor and old. Maybe we would should have just left after all this but we decided to give it a shot. We order like 6 – 7 dishes and shared. The Chow Fun Noodle was hard and under cooked. The Kung Pao chicken barely had any chicken. I ask for a spoon and the waiter gave me a shitty a$$ plastic to go spoon that had a dead bug on it. My sister’s tea cup had a piece of hair that was stuck on the side. WTH… Are these people blind??? GROSS… don’t need to say much more… I would never eat here again and advise you to look else where…
