Such a cute fruit stand. The produce was all excellent, the pepper jelly was perfect. The garlic ice cream was certainly an experience, and rest assured the vampires will stay away. Great service with a smile. Would come back on another trip to Gilroy Premium Outlets.

Memorial Day. Shopping at the Gilroy Outlets. Having a shitty lunch at Sonics, but driving past Merry Cherry’s Fruit Stand and trying out Vanilla Garlic Ice Cream for the very first time=soooo worth it! I’ve lived in the South Bay all my life, and I’ve been to the Gilroy Outlets dozens of times, and yet I haven’t been to one single Garlic Festival lol. So when I saw the words,” Garlic Ice Cream,” of course I had to tell my bf to take me there. The lady working the stand that day was very nice and helpful. Such a cute little stand with fresh fruits, and a selection of jams, oils, and other delicacies. I told her that it would be our first time trying garlic ice cream, and she said I could choose between vanilla and chocolate. She said the vanilla one is more popular, so I went for it. It’s made by Marianne’s Ice Cream in Santa Cruz. I was honestly expecting to see noticeable specks of garlic in the ice cream, but I didn’t…you wouldn’t even have known it was vanilla garlic ice cream if it was handed to you haha. So my bf and I each took a spoonful, and omg we were in heaven! When you first taste it, it tastes just like regular vanilla, but then BAM… that taste/after taste of garlic totally hits you, next thing you know… your breath is kickin. Lol… My bf wanted to try out the choco one, but I wasn’t willing to spend another three dollars since I was already full off of the ice cream and my meal at Sonics, but that’s definitely on our to-do list for next time. Cash only fyi!

I love fruit stands! Seriously, every trip I’ve taken along these roads with fruit stands begins and ends the same… «OMG look, a fruit stand… should we stop?» *drives past many fruit stands* «okay stop here! This is the one!» Haha. So much fun! There are many stands along the road. Just make sure you can safely pull over. This fruit stand was selling cherries(hence the merry cherries). Only $ 1 per small basket… what a steal! Other fruits are pricier. Stick to the deals of fresh fruit. yummm! The cherries were pretty good. Worth the $ 1 of course! There were other fruits(strawberries, nectarines, apricots) and other goodies like dried mangoes, pistachios and garlic! Definitely worth stopping here! I’ll probably be back for more fruit on my way back to Socal! Yay!

The best strawberries, cherries, and apricots around. Like everything in life you get what you pay for. If you want quality fruit at a great price make sure you stop here.

Coming from LA we stopped by the first Merry Cherry stand. The prices weren’t listed, and the lady wasn’t overly helpful or friendly. It was $ 5 for an overripe basket of pluots. They are sweet and delicious, but I’m going to have to eat them all soon. I couldn’t pick the fruit(I could point to the basket), I wasn’t offered samples or prices. I kinda wish I went to the next Merry Cherry stand where there seemed to be more people helping. I guess if I had to stand alone in a wooden shack all day I wouldn’t be too friendly either.

There are several of fruit stands by this name along the Pacheco Hwy. On our way back from a cruise to the South Bay, we decided to stop by for some locally grown nature’s candy. There are baskets of fruits already set to buy, so you just have to pick the ones you want and pay the lady. We got 3 baskets of strawberries for $ 6 and a large basket of nectarines. The sample we had tasted very fresh and delightful. You also get to mix and match certain baskets, which is very nice. Be caution, don’t pick a bad fruit. We accidentally picked one that didn’t look so good. Pretty little fruit stand along the road, there are other fruit stands available, so if you miss the first one, you’ll probably run into the second or third one. BTW, CASHONLY.
