This library isnt the greatest in the area although i have spent alot of time here. They do have some hidden gems if you know where to look! There is a 3D printer in the teen room! If you are looking for a place to work you can try the periodical room which is often more secluded; in there you can reserve 1 of 3 study rooms for 2 hrs. The computer book selection is not good at all. I don’t think the books changed in 10 years. I wish they would take the approach of a more progressive libraries that have their own maker spaces and classes.

A while ago, I attended a book sale at this library. Another patron began making fun of me and then a volunteer at this book sale joined in and also made fun of me. This was not in fun but included personal insults. I have not returned to this book sale since and certainly would not support this library. I am not thin skinned but I do feel that people should respect each other. Book sales such as the ones at WT include many books and mot are one-of-a –kind. It gets crowded, people grab the books quickly and there is a certain amount of competitiveness among the buyers, particularly with respect to the book dealers. I expect a certain amount of rudeness but intentional verbal racist insults from both the man next to me as well as a volunteer were not necessary. The volunteer was egging on the man next to me to pick on me more and that was just wrong. The man next to me decided to puss me down and I just left the children’s books to avoid further issues but if I had it all to do over again, I would have simply left and not purchased any books. Looking back on it, this was a volunteer working at this sale, who, was laughing and encouraging his friend. Maybe the other volunteers were more grounded but I will never return.

A neat place. A couple of truly amazing book sales a year that are worth marking on your calendar, with smaller(for sale) selections on a small cart. A really good place to get work done if you don’t want the bustle of a coffee shop — good wifi, usually quiet, comfy chairs, and pretty good hours!

This is the the very best in big, yet small town library feel! Long time front desk Staff is marvelous & greets you like old friends! Shout out to front desk long time employee Cindy, who completes the experience with wisdom and humor. Love how this fine old world building establishment marries the refurbished colonial architecture with the modern world. Thanks for helping make Glastonbury the gem it is!

There are no reviews of this library yet, so I figure I’ll give some useful information since we come here a lot. There is a great children’s section. It is separated from the rest of the library, which makes it easier to give children some space since you can easily watch the entrance and exit. It is in the back of the lower level(straight back if you walk in from the parking lot in the back of the building). The children’s section has a train set that is very popular, and a couple of computers for playing educational games. The children’s DVDs and CDs are located in the children’s section too. They have a pretty good variety of each. As far as the adults, there is free Wi-Fi, and a magazine section with an amazing number of magazines. Obviously, there are a lot of books. They have a section for new and popular books that are 7 day loans, no renewals. You can usually find some of the new and talked about novels here. Otherwise, you may have to put a hold on a popular book you are looking for. The librarians are helpful with that. Oh, there is also a teen section with young adult novels, graphic novels, and CDs. If you are looking for pop music CDs, you may want to check out the CD racks in the teen section. It’s in the room next to the new fiction bookshelves. Come and enjoy!
