Worst hotel experience in my life including my stay in Mexico 15 years ago! My room was filthy, worn out, and had such an strong tart piss smell I couldn’t relax at all. Glad the desk clerk lady found the right description for the smell because I couldn’t explain it any better. I wasn’t offered another room or compensation. I was stuck there for three days on a business trip that was already paid for by my company.

When I first got here I should have known something was up with all the perfume in this room. After leaving and returning from an outing we came back to a mildew cat urin smelling room. Terrible place. Never again.

Stayed here as a cheap hotel option from the night before going to King’s Dominion. For a place to lay our heads, the room itself was a great deal– spacious, clean, comfortable. The front desk folk were a bit quirky but not make or break it so. Only complaints would be that we needed to print last-minute meal-pass tickets so that we wouldn’t get charged to do so at the park, but the hotel didn’t have a guest computer/printer and supposedly couldn’t do so from their computers so we had to go to nearby kinko’s before the park. Also, their continental breakfast had a decent selection for the price(cereal, toast, entemann’s donuts, and fruit), but the food tasted a bit old.

After going through various reviews of inexpensive lodging options in the Richmond and Glen Allen areas, I had found my match with this conveniently located Days Inn. This was one of the cleanest hotels that I’ve stayed in for the money I paid. The room I stayed in was more like a suite, since it also featured a couch, along with such features as a mini fridge. As others have pointed out, the continental breakfast was something left to be desired, and I wound up eating breakfast at the Waffle House across the street.

This review is for the Days Inn, which just replaced the HoJo that was here — note that juames o. was reviewing the old hotel. Oddly, though, his review is spot on. That’s the most pathetic continental breakfast I’ve seen among places that offer it. I grabbed a very green banana, it’s all I could stomach. Maybe the milk was OK, but the orange juice wasn’t. That said, I come to hotels to sleep, not to eat breakfast. It was a very nicely appointed room, good bed(I like firm mattresses), temperature well regulated, TV facing the bed, etc. Management has been very nice since I showed up. The missing star is really for the breakfast, which again amuses me because sometimes things just don’t change, but I would definitely stay here again. Fortunately, I’m not a breakfast person. Oh, and free wifi. Always nice.
