Happy hour is a play date for the 55+ crowd. Good spot if your an old, local guy. Food and service is good though.

The neighborhood sports bar, great place for a quick meal with the family or to hang out at the bar and catch the big game. The food is so so but it’s a good atmosphere for families.

Our waitress was the best! Brie is very friendly sand knowledgable of the menu. She made our experience the best! Manager Cragg does not have customer service skills! I won’t waste my money again. Food is typical bar crap nothing sets them apart from any other bar if anything they are below in food selections. The should just sell hot dogs, burgers and beer Yeah it’s that kinda place. The only reason I have 3 Stars was because of our waitress! Brie deserves 5 stars for her service.

Today during College Game Day I decided to try Home Team Grill as I had heard good things about this place from friends. Perfect timing as the early afternoon games were starting and I was hungry for a good lunch. I had my choice of tables or booths and really there is a couple of big screen tv’s in view from every dining spot. Looked over the menu for a few minutes and knew I’d have to come back several times to try al the good stuff on it. But today we’ll keep it simple. Some Chicken Tenders and a Burger w/Fries should get my afternoon started. It seemed the wait was very short(helps to have a big screen with a ballgame on it to keep your mind occupied). Appetizer came out and I was very pleased with their Tenders and honey-mustard sauce. The place started to get a crowd coming in. Apparently the youth games across the street at the Y were over and parents were bringing in their families for lunch! My burger arrived and it was great! Hawaiian Style with grilled Pineapple and Teriyaki Sauce. The roll was the weak link in the burger because it was nothing special and it wasn’t toasted. I tossed it aside. My server wasn’t overly friendly, I didn’t even get her name, but she was nearby if I needed anything. It was a good lunch… I am looking forward to returning and enjoying more from their menu while watching the games.

Normally a spot like this wouldn’t make it high on my list. It’s akin to BW3 in a lot of ways. Semi franchise feeling bar slash restaurant. It doesn’t have a particularly local or dive feeling even though the name might lead you to believe otherwise. But with that out of the way, I have found one dish that I crave and thus, must amp up the rating to accommodate. For some reason the yellow jacket chicken wrap calls my name. Gilled chicken with grilled onions and peppers, cheese and a southwest ranch dressing with homemade chips. Nothing outrageous. Just everything I’d want in a wrap and it’s been a go-to for me on many late work nights or for a quick lunch. Of course, it helps that it’s right on the way home…

I am what some would call a regular. I’ve stopped in about 6 times a year over several years with the most recent visit last week before the Thanksgiving holiday. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The menu and food in general has improved greatly in the past year and especially recently. The clam chowder is the best I’ve had anywhere in Richmond and their burger nights(Tuesdays) are well worth the visit. It has a good bar with great bartenders and monthly beer special, which usually features a local craft brew. Would like their beer selection even better if they had a good local IPA on tap all the time. It’s also a kid friendly spot! There is an area in the back that has a few games for the kids and a TV for the adults with the game on. It is somewhat isolated from the rest of the restaurant and near the hallway to the restrooms, so you can keep an eye on the kids when the venture off to the bathroom. The kids menu is pretty decent as well. It’s a solid neighborhood establishment that has made improvements over the years.

This place is pretty cool. We are in town for work and staying close by so it’s very convenient. The food is good and the service is spectacular, especially if you happen to go in on Alyssa’s shift. Great bartender. Honestly though, all the bartenders have been great. The managers there have been pretty awesome as well.

Don’t order an Old Fashion. They take 15 min to bring it to you, after making it twice at the bar and have no idea how to make it. Oh at it costs $ 7.50 for a watered down first glass. Offer them some advice, «add a ½ shot of whisky to the second glass». Well it tastes much better until you get the final bill and they charge you a whopping $ 13.50 for the second drink. I asked the manager to help me out, she said it was my fault. I reminded her that $ 13.50 is ½ a liter of liquor and she reminded me that I was not at the liquor store. Well… I am not drinking at the Ritz Carlton either… No wonder your restaurant is mostly empty on a Friday night. She blamed her waitress and then she blamed me, long story short, blame yourself for your inadequacy. Food was good. Waitress was pleasant. Drinks are over priced. Not in my house, and likely the last time I visit this place. Way to scare away your much needed customers. I mean really $ 13.50 for a drink? I don’t think this is a very practical approach. If you want bang for your buck, go into the real short pump where a real drink is worth the price.

Strip Mall sports bar. Other than the service, which was excellent, there’s absolutely nothing better than average. Poor selection of drafts(maybe 5 American blah beers and Guinness — thank God for that), uncomfortable, cramped seating, old school CRTTV sets(plus a few HD sets), bathroom rum down, burger ordered medium well was pink in the middle and surprisingly small for a $ 10 burger. The place has potential, but they need to step up their game big time.

For a sports bar, I was not disappointed. The veggie medley side was very good and my chicken tender wrap was what it said it was. Nothing outstanding but far from terrible. Our server was a doll and that counts for a lot!

Really I give this place 3.5 stars. Honestly I used to come here ALL the time. But I never realized until my most recent trip that it tastes like practically ALL of the food is frozen. Fries-Tastes Frozen Wings– Taste Frozen Soups– Taste like they are From a Can Salad is kinda wilted and perhaps from one of those giant value«fresh packs» from A big grocery store. Burgers are pretty good. Meat is decent and they can be really nice and juicy or horrible and dry. But service is great! Most of the time the staff is down to earth and very warm hearted. You might as well try this place; it all varies in quality depending in which shift you hit. So it might take 2 – 3 tries before you have an amazing Home-Team meal.

Fun local twin hickory spot… good folks running the place. I have hit the happy hour a few times on Fridays, meeting up with some clients that hit this place pretty regularly. I came in one Friday after they were getting ready to leave and found myself alone, hungry and tired from a long day. So I ordered a burger but with spinach instead of lettuce(I do that… lettuce is so boring) The burger came out quick and delicious…4 stars on the burger. This is more of a family style diner and for good reason… it is in the middle of Twin Hickory.

Updating my previous review. The food is still good for a local place that I can walk to but I have noticed the service is starting to slip. For the first time in many years I refused to leave a tip tonight because the service was so poor! We will probably look elsewhere for awhile.

Was very impressed with this place from the staff to the food. Part of strip mall. Very attentive staff and great NE clam chowder. Would not expect that down here? Also had a burger which was cooked perfectly along with toasted bun which was not a big over sized roll. Just right. Several TV’s around to watch various sporting events, like all baseball but it is mid July!
