I want to like this place but there just isn’t anything good about it. The meat isn’t great quality and you can only get it medium/medium well. I ordered the smaller burger and my bun was about twice the size. None of the toppings seemed to be in the right proportion. The idea of building your own burger would be exciting if Five Guys didn’t do it better, faster and cheaper. The staff isn’t particularly friendly and the retro diner feel is pretty dated. I’m giving two stars cause they do serve milkshakes… But otherwise you are better off elsewhere.

What a lovely place! I vaguely remember seeing their name on a Burger Week promotion, but I didn’t get a chance to visit until I found a coupon in the Glen Allen Shopper flyer. We were greeted by a lovely woman who made the experience really pleasant. So, if anything, go for the service! We went at lunch time and the restaurant wasn’t too packed, but it wasn’t empty so that’d be a great time to go. The menu is very create-your-own, but they do have Burger of the Days(Week?). You get to chose the size of your burger(I got the ¼ pounder), cheese, toppings, etc. Their topping choice is on point — onion rings, A1 barbeque sauce, etc. Unfortunately, the burgers don’t come with a side, but there are also create-your-own fries/rings. The half and half is a great option for those that want the best of both worlds. The burger was a little greasy for my taste, but that happens. It was really delicious and satisfied my burger craving. The onion rings are also really authentic. Mmmm, I’m definitely going back!

The service is horrible too many kids working here. New owners purchased about 1 ½ years ago and it shows. Took my family here for my grandsons bday poor front door service, he saw us standing there and left us there for several minutes. Once seated the waitress who was also a kid, took our drink orders and then took forever to take our food order. There were only 4 tables other than ours so it was not busy. Food finally arrives and the waitress doesn’t have knives because they are in the Dishwasher!!! Waitress leans over table to pass food and in doing so leaned over our drinks yuk! Burgers were good as was the shake. This spot is small inside and the servers need training.

I would say we are in agreement with many of the other reviews… Good tasty burger both were cooked as requested and one of the 1,275,000 different combinations of the shakes is worth ordering as well. We were also struck by the staff as other reviews mentioned —high schoolers or youngish but that isn’t a bad thing for this crew they were friendly and attentive – great job! We will be back.

I love this place… I’ve been coming here for years… It’s one of my favorites… I’ve never had a bad experience… The staff are so friendly… The food is amazing, and the milkshakes are to die for. I highly recommend this place:-)

This place is alright. Not my favorite place to order from but it is good when there aren’t any other choices. I work at the Walgreens across the street so there aren’t many choices around. The people who work there are friendly and if you are close enough, they will deliver for free Monday through Thursday. Their onion rings are my favorite. They are very crispy and stay that way for a while so if I can’t eat right away and go back to the food, they are still crispy. Their turkey burger is really good too and you can put pretty much as many toppings on it as you want. I will probably continue to order from here on occasion.

I came right in and was a bit confused. I guess it was because I didn’t read the sign that said wait to be seated that was by the door. I was not sure what to do so the bartender actually sat me. The décor is typical diner ambiance. Retro 50’s look to it with lots of chrome and neon and posters of vintage movie stars. There was a wall of pictures. If you eat the one pound burger, you get your picture taken and hung on the wall. There were a ton of pictures. The menu had an entire page of milk shakes in hundreds of flavors. You find it, they probably have it. I had the onion rings and a bacon cheesburger. It was great and even cheaper than 5 Guys. I’m definitely coming here as my go to burger joint. The waitress was nice, prompt, and good. She gave me my drink in a mason jar and kept filling it up. The only service gripe is that the waitress was over attentive. Every time I took a bite she was coming by and asking me if I need anything else. Can’t they tell when you do that? I’m sure she did. UPDATE: I took notes when I visited and scored it a 4 star. A week later I returned with my family. We all had similar fare. My son who is tolerant of anything was freaked out when he found a hair in his burger. That immediately dropped my rating to three stars. I’ll return, but probably without my son.

My fiancé and I both had the burgers and we shared a small order of the split of onion rings and fries. The food was okay, but not worth the trip back since the server was rude as well. I guess I am just used to the friend;y service of the kids that always seem to be running the place. We stopped by around 3 on a slow Saturday. I was surprised how long it took Ericka to come take our order. Once she approached the table it wasn’t the normal«hi may i take your order». Instead it was more like I dare you bother me what and what the heck do you want. Once it was time for us to leave and determine her tip she managed to say have a great day. I am not one to complain, but a crappy server ruins the whole experience and there are numerous burger joints to choose from. I wouldn’t recommend this place as the food is just okay and the service today was horrible! I also noticed other tables waiting a long time while the staff joked around and played with their phones.

The staff is very friendly and the burgers are very good. The milkshakes are better than very good! I will say it is much better to dine in over take out. We had take out with high exoectations and it was not good at all… the burgers were way overcooked and the order was wrong. I will go here again to eat but i would not order to go.

I came here Saturday to meet up with a friend. Having moved away from the area, I realized there were a lot of restaurants I missed and this was one of them. I’m not a huge cheeseburger fan, but I must say that I really like Cheeburger Cheeburger. The fact that you can order as many toppings for free as you want is great! To me that is what makes it special. Well, I guess the milkshakes too! They make a fantastic milkshake. It’s a great spot for all ages as well from young to old and I like that about a place. The inside is on the small side, but they still can accomodate large or small groups. With the burgers, you can order any number of sizes and this is also good. They have their pounder challenge(20 ounces actually). If you complete the challenge the staff announces it to the entire dining room and your picture is taken and then placed on the wall. The pictures are really funny because the winner will sign it and make some kind of comment. Breakdown please! The Food and Milkshake: Delicious! For the burger I ordered it with salsa, guacamole, pepper jack, onion and honey mustard. Looking back, I didn’t need the honey mustard. They also put a lot of onion on too. For the milkshake I ordered oreo and espresso. Yum! My friend and I also split a small basket of fries. The fries are really good too. They have a nice zesty seasoning on them. The Value: For two burgers, an order of fries and two milkshakes it came to $ 22. That’s not too bad. Maybe a wee bit high, but that’s because the milkshakes are a wee bit expensive. Worth every penny though! The Experience: It is 50s diner themed, which I think is a lot of fun. It was very loud on Saturday, but for that restaurant, I’m ok with it since a lot of kids were there. Everyone is friendly as well. Would I return?: Well, I moved away from Richmond and then came back so, yes I would! 4 stars?: It’s delicious, but not out of this world, OMG-that’s-the-best-thing-I-ever-ate, kind of a place.

Not bad at all for a chain burger place. What sets this one above others is the customer service. Very friendly and accommodating wait staff! I love my vanilla shake work(ordered to-go), a prefect treat to take back to the office.

This is pretty much what you’d expect from a strip mall burger place. It was our first time there and it was a Saturday night. We only had to wait a second to get a table and the place was pretty busy. Our server was pleasant and took a minute to explain the menu. We ordered chicken fingers for one kid and a Jr. cheeseburger for the other. Both my husband and I ordered the Turkey Burger Platter. The salads with the turkey burger were nothing special, besides the addition of olives, which I found icky but he loved. Both kids’ food arrived earlier than our food, which is always appreciated. The chicken fingers were run of the mill but tasty. The cheeseburger was basic. Sadly, the fries were so seasoned that both kids only ate a few. Too much pepper for them. Both turkey burgers were just ok. The buns were fresh and large but the burgers were clearly pre-formed and previously frozen. Not a lot of texture and certainly dry. I chose to only top mine with bleu cheese while my husband took advantage of the various choices and loaded up. Our fries were the same peppered ones as the kids, but we didn’t mind. The 2 dipping sauces were an odd addition, but both just fine. Finally, we ordered 2 small shakes for the kids, one black and white and one Oreo. Both were delicious and each kid finished theirs in record time. Truly the highlight of the meal. We probably won’t return, only because there are so many other burger options that are so much better; BurgerWorks and Five Guys to name a couple of our top choices. But if I was 16, just got my freedom via car and wanted a place for my friends to hang out, this would SOBEIT.

So, yesterday in true fat-kid status, I had a craving for a white chocolate, raspberry, truffle milkshake from Dairy Bar. Sadly, it was not open when I wanted to go plus, I am not a huge fan of their burgers. So my boyfriend recommended Cheeburger Cheeburger. I was hesitant because I had Cheeburger Cheeburger in the airport and it was miserable to say the least. I hated it with passion. But I figured I would give the actual store a chance and I am glad I did! The food wasn’t bad at all! The burger was made well AND they put a TON of blue cheese which made me very happy. The fries were delicious and the milkshake WASSOGOOD. It satisfied the craving I had for a white chocolate, raspberry milkshake. Overall, thumbs up and I’m glad to have a different burger joint than Five Guys, Carytown Burgers and Dots(I LOVEDOTS! It closes early though :() Well anyways, if your ever in the West End and have a craving for a burger and don’t want a greaseburger from 5G, check this place out.

My wife and I went here last night. As far as burger joints go, this place is great! They have a ton of options for burger toppings and at a good value. Their onion rings are among the best I’ve ever had. A lot of places serve breaded, frozen onion rings, but Cheeburger Cheeburger’s are made from scratch. The service was fast and friendly. We will be returning the next time we get a hankering for burgers.

Went here today because we had a coupon for a free burger. The free options for toppings was nice. The burger was fine. Nothing especially great and not bad either. I didn’t care for the fries but my friend really enjoyed them. There was barely any onion in the onion rings. Our service was good. She refilled our pepsi in a timely manner. She offered dessert to us 2 or 3 times. We were full enough without any dessert. Maybe some other time.

Cheeburger Cheeburger is a diner themed chain, with a franchise location up in Glen Allen. It’s incredibly kid-friendly, but I actually love this place(and I don’t have kids) because they have awesome milkshakes, and lots of them. You can get almost any flavor you can think of, with my personal favorite being the Mud Pie. I also like their fries, which come family-style… And of course, they do do a lovely burger. But really, I could go there just for the shakes. They are made fresh with real ingredients, are probably a million and a half calories apiece, and are worth every one in my opinion. They also do old fashioned egg creams, which are refreshing but not something I like on a regular basis. And, while you wait for your food, you can check out the pics of the people who have eaten the giant burger– anyone who finishes in one sitting gets their picture on the wall. My friends 4 year old is on the wall… it’s impressive.

To be honest, Cheeburger Cheeburger is not for everyone. The décor and service are an attempt at a throw back to a 1950’s style«diner,» and this might off putting to some. So in that respect, Cheeburger’s open dining area and kitchen are busy from open until their relatively early closing time(8:30PM), and diners seeking a more intimate environment would be better eating elsewhere. As the name implies, Cheeburger’s menu consists largely of burger options and an vast array of toppings, including more exotic options such as peanut butter, roasted red pepper and pineapple. For those on diets, this is not the place for you! Cheeburger’s beef is clearly 80⁄20(as any«good» hamburger should be!) and weigh in between 8 – 12 ounces. Those ordering fries will also be amazed at the quantity delivered. I’ve also never been for lack of service at Cheeburger. The restaurant is busy, though I’ve found their wait staff to be attentive and productive; entrees are delivered within 10 – 15 minutes and drinks are filled rapidly. Granted, customers should expect this degree of service, though I’ve found that many establishments in our area fall well short of those basics; Cheeburger tends to go beyond. Indeed, on one occasion in which a customer locked her keys in her car, I witnessed the staff at Cheeburger offering her a free milkshake while she waited for a tow truck. For those willing to eat in the busy environment, Cheeburger presents an excellent venue for an informal, well-prepared and filling meal. Anticipate a moderate wait during busy times, but also expect great food upon ordering.
